The process of typing Chinese words into computers is done by assigning English letters to all corresponding Chinese sounds.
Since all the things you idiots are typing into Google translate are actually Chinese sounds that make up Chinese words, Google assumes you're typing many words. In reality the system is very well designed; allowing for foreigners who can only understand Chinese type it with ease.

It works because you don't pronounce the sounds like they're English you retards.
There's a considerable difference in sound between Shi, Xing, Qing, Chi, Zhi, Zi etc. etc.
Plus there are four tones and a neutral tone, which makes the same syllable able to bear different meaning dependant on tone.
