the other thread isn't at bump limit

What do you guys think of Zenith? Will it keep its value? I lobe the looks of this watch but the price is outrageous.

second for seagull C H I N A M A D E

...

phallic hour hand

cockhands you say?

Probably won't hold its value but I'm sure it's a good watch

why is your camera so shit

Oh look...the jewelry fags are out again.

Take your non tech related thread back to fashion where it belongs. And don't give me that shit about precision micro engineering...you fags do not talk about that shit at all in these threads.

>implying Sup Forums even talks about technology

How do you guys check the accuracy of your watch?
Do you go to time.is the same time every day and see how far your watch is off by and log it in a spreadsheet?

friend of mine has it, its a nice watch, but stupid expensive. resale value is dogshit ofc (dont buy new.)
my 60 y/o omega kicked its ass on the timegrapher though.

Any love for my Vostok 50 Slavthoms?

Yes goy, back to your Intel processor threads, there's more shilling to be done!

Quite nice user. God damn the Fifty Fathoms is a gorgeous watch

My point exactly...it's all jewelry.

Back to fashion with you non tech faggots

Can someone redpill me on the pricetag for the Breitling clock that comes with the Bentley Bentayga?

play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.uhrenbastler.watchcheck&hl=en

Wish this was available for iOS.

Excellent. I've already been eyeing some Bonetto Cinturini straps

More decorations and jewelry. NOT TECH!!!!

Quick Google. Limited production timepiece made out of precious metals, features a unique rotation complication and a tourbillon and the rest is just because they can. It isn't extraordinary in terms of asking price for high end mechanical time pieces.

user I'm sorry.

Your father got you a Steinhart for your graduation. You loved it. You wore it everyday. It was your pride and joy. Finally you could show the world what you were made of, and that you, after all these years had earned the right to wear your first Swiss Made luxury watch.

Then, alas, you found Sup Forums. You found /wt/ and anons were talking about all types of horological technology, forms and functions, complications and designs, reliability and value for money. You were home at last, among your fellow watch connoisseurs.

As you were scrolling away, you saw someone else posted their Steinhart.. and you knew it was time, time to share with the world your own timepiece for all to admire and adore!

So you did. And then the comments came in. But, something was wrong. They were.. Unexpected. They were.. cruel. Harsh. Demeaning and offensive.

What? Why? How can this be? After all this time and love you have shared with your watch you've just been told, that slab of metal around your wrist, is in fact a steaming pile of dogshit.

>uhrenbastler
Why did I read that as urineblaster?

...

Stop buying jewelry

Anyone ID this watch?

>25 minutes for a watch review

why do his videos go on and on. you can talk about everything in 5-10 minutes

TGV would be decent if he'd just cut the rambling and the filler shit. He has a pretty good taste and generally avoids shitters.

Also it would help if he would stop with the Yuropoor nobleman LARP. It's cringe as fuck. I'm native Euro but I certainly don't have pictures of European art and architecture on loop on my desktop.

>Be in Scotland
>Order a watch from Ireland
>Tracking just updated showing it's in London

Why the fuck would it go there?

Scotland is up from Ireland not down... That's the wrong direction.

>be in Hungary
>order parts from CousinsUK
>arrives late as fuck
>"Missent to Canada" stamped on the parcel
How the fuck do you manage that?

My friend works for a jewellery company and once told me he had to deal with a complaint where a package got sent to Georgia the country instead of state.

What's wrong with having European art in your room?

The nobleman larp is funny though. He's not even entitled to half that shit because his mothers side is the noble side. So it would pass down to the son of one of her brothers, not him.

I need this in my life.

If it's coming from The Republic of Ireland it probably has to go through a customs centre in London before it makes it north of the wall.

Neat rotor. Was citizen trying to make something stronger than a center mounted rotor?

My God they are sexy.

Should I buy the Casio F91W-1 meme watch?

Yes, they're fantastic.

Yes.

Sure, it's cheap enough

Not sure what their intentions were, but apparently they were actually a bit less reliable than a traditional rotor. Might not be the fault of the rotor though, maybe it was the winding gears, I don't know the full story.

How much are you going to miss those 5 to 7 bucks if you don't like it?

Get a W201 instead.

>auto-adjustment for leap years is not supported, as the watch does not record the year.

That should tell you something, it's crap.

No, GWM5610

Its IC is from 1991, what do you expect? Also a digital watch knowing years and leap years is a meme, so go kys.

Why not both?

Nice, real nice.

Picked up pic related for £30 in Sarajevo last weekend.

Because you can save ten bucks by not buying the worthless one

Mine is coming in from Russia, $30 and better condition than your, hehe.

>waiting for my new watch in the mail

I missed this meme

>tracking page says the watch is already at my PO and will be delivered today

Anyone had any experience with antiquewatchbar?

I got a Seiko lord marvel in great condition from them but it's incredibly inaccurate, it was supposed to have been serviced.

Soon™

>I got a Seiko lord marvel in great condition from them but it's incredibly inaccurate, it was supposed to have been serviced.

It was, 5 years ago. :^)

But seriously I had the same thing happen to me when I got an Explorer II from 'Collectors Coins and Jewelry". Apparently it's more common to pull this shit than you think. Fucker was advertised to have been within COSC and when I got it, it was running two MINUTES slow per day.

Holy shit ten whole dollars? Some of us aren't NEETs.

I suggested buying a $90 watch instead of a $10 one. It's clearly not about the money

Damn I guess it's a bad idea paying the premium that the vintage watch shops are demanding for the watch being "serviced". Next time I'll just get it from a eBay auction or just stick to new watches

He is a good guy, and honest, the problem is that his watchmaker is complete shit. I chatted with him a bit by email after I bought the blue dialed 5206 from him, and some of the things he told me lead me to suspect that they watchmaker he guy uses sucks.

In any case, you should always assume you will need to have any vintage watch you buy serviced immediately up receipt, no matter what the seller tells you.

I have two in the mail God speed fedex

Why do you think I'm constantly shilling Yahoo! Japan Auctions in here? Because for the most part you are better off buying from there unless you are willing to knowingly overpay for excellent exterior condition.

I really want a Celadon imperial. Can someone with one give me a run Down of if it's worth

Seriously considering picking up the 38mm version of the Hamilton Intra-matic.

I don't get this.
If they didn't want to put a seconds hand they could just installed a quartz movement instead of an automatic. Pretty retarded desu.

Same goes for the celadon imperial, now that I think about it.

>the only point of a mechanical movement is a smooth seconds hand
maybe you just don't like watches user.

That would look better with a running seconds sub dial rather than date.

I would prefer that it (the Hamilton) had a seconds hand, but that's the only thing I dislike about the watch. Solid movement and a beautiful, simple face and case.

>they could just installed a quartz movement instead
Just kill yourself now

Come on, I'm not saying that I prefer quartz over a mechanical watch but what's the point of an automatic without seconds hand? A quartz movement would provide a better performance by keeping the same design and probably and even thinner case.

What is a good watch, if not a watch that holds its value?

I do like watches and exclusively mechanical movements but I dislike watches that exclude the sweeping seconds hand, which displays the beauty of the performance of the mechanism.

What does that have to do with what I posted?

Meant for

All watches don't hold value user
They are like cars.

Even the vintage expensive ones become practically dogshit after a while.

Only the price of the material determines the value, never the fancy pansy complication or horological 'masterwank'.

>All watches don't hold value user
This is true, but some hold a lot better than others, such as Rolex and PP.
Again; what is a good watch?

This. If non-digital watches are tech, then so are backpacks.

Even less and less people/shops are accepting
used Rolexes as the Business is slowly dying
out and the new gen don't see the same value
in it as their predecessors.

In this current age, the value is determined by
the discerning individual. Keep yours close.

>In this current age, the value is determined by
>the discerning individual.
Exactly my point. People will almost always want Rolexes, as they are, by plebeians, seen as the top of the watch food chain.

Also, why do you write like that?

It is down to tastes and preferences I suppose For instance, I'd always liked Seagull watches better than Japanese makes and
Beijing cloisonne dials can make me swoon with their artistry and energy.

On retrospect, I would never spend so much on a Swiss/German/American/Japanese make when I can get so much for so little

Just ordered these from ebay for 10.50€

Oh look, it's another Casio!

Even now, I see less and less people wearing traditional mechanical watches and depending on their
smartphones, tablets or even smartwatches.

It is a pretty rough time for the industry as a whole.
People are starting to lose interest.

>cloisonne
Dont you mean guilloche?
I think cloisonne is set enamel paint right?

Literally the opposite is happenning

Yes, the 'sketching/outlining' is set by bronze/gold/brass wire and different enamel paints are filled in.

I don't know which part of the world you live in
But in my country, hardly anyone even buys
Seikos/Citizens/Timex/Swatch nowadays, Quartz or otherwise.

I do see Fossil pieces being wore like
outlandish fashion accessories from time to time tho and Le Rubber Casio of course

Does turning the crown backwards on speedies to stop the seconds hand (and sometimes run it backwards) do any harm to the movement? I've read conflicting reports; that it'll eventually cause wear to the movement and that it's totally harmless.

Apparently it's just the pressure from the cannon pinion moving against the center pinion being able to overcome the torque in the rest of the system.

its called ghetto hacking and i dont think it does a whole lot to the movement.

shoutout to the plastic in that chrono btw

bought an skx009 as my first watch
i really like it a lot

Get a Strapcode super oyster bracelet, it totally transforms the feel of the watch. It feels a lot more 'premium'.

>Opinions on this piece
*of shit.

Yeah customs between 2 EU countries, brexit is not done yet senpai

Why?
