Chance for AMD to finally make a good cpu.

Great, another 2-3% IPC improvement.

> implying that's not a tremendous achievement in an age of extreme challenges at photolithography

Summary

36 core CPU
Chipset on under die(bottom die/3D)?
Memory controller under die
Integrated DDR under die?
customized CPUs up to 8 cores
customized CPUs on Intel website. For server clients
cannonlake only 4 core but with a bottom Die (15% faster than KBL)

"Leaked" in a public document.

Wew.

No source?
Intel, you've lost, go back home and actually start on this design, maybe we'll care then

It's already obsolete

This is straight up delusion from Intel
I don't even know who they want to patent troll with this
AMD has actual IP on concepts similar, but this (((patent))) would never hold up in court

so basically its a copy of what ryzen/napels already is? core structure, moved I/O onto cpu etc?
how long will it take them to move it to sever parts? 3 years? considering there is still no skylake xeons

is FPGA any use to x86 cpu? why is it there?

To patent troll
Amazon and Google are adopting FPGA's as coprocessors for very specific workloads, Google even has it's own custom made ASIC's
Intel wants to secure some (((IP))) to shit on anyone who actually tries to do some innovation
Most of what they mention in here is something that AMD has been researching and patenting for years, but their patents aren't just memes

"leaked"

This is advertising.

NONE OF YOU ARE GOING TO ASK FOR A SOURCE?

You are the cancer of Sup Forums

Honestly AMD's 200W 16TFLOP fp64 exascale APU looks far more impressive.

computermachines.org/joe/publications/pdfs/hpca2017_exascale_apu.pdf

What the fuck is this

Yet Nvidia bring out a new card that's a 30% performance upgrade every year. Why are CPU manufacturers so incompetent?

yeah sadly amd has something even better..

its called EHP

This won't be a thing before 7nm, 2nd gen or 3rd probably.
16tflop FP64 is literally 3 times as much as GP100

Customizable CPUs? not bad (if you have the $$$)

New GPUs are basically just moar coarz.

Are you stupid? At the cost of $700. The 1080 Ti is nothing other than more CUDA cores.

>intel innovates
>amd adds moar coars

>already fallen for the kaby lake meme

n-not gonna fall for it this time... I s-swear...

Intel needs to bring out an entirely new arch, and soon. They've been milking the same one since sandy bridge.

But the GTX 1080 has less CUDA cores than a GTX 980 Ti and is much more powerful.
