I guess I should've explained myself better. The tablet does work it's the screen that is fucked up, he said that it sarted doing this shit after he changed the battery a second time.

Using FirefoxBeta atm but I'm still wondering on if I'm missing out on addons.

Strange. I had a similar thing happen when I slipped on some ice and crushed my phone screen. I think it's the digitizer or whatever that's under the glass in the front. If you replace the screen it should be fine

A coworker sent me a PSD file that won't open saying it's not a valid photoshop document.
Any ideas on how to recover the file?
I tried changing the extension to TGA, TIF and none worked. Is there a trustable recovery software for photoshop files?

Is there such a thing as IDE hard drive that is an SSD? I have a SATA to IDE converter but I can't get an old computer to recognize a 80 gig SATA drive with it.

If you're a university student you might be able to get a research gig somewhere with a clean room and some of the equipment needed. Assuming that the materials will run around $5k and design at least a few years.

Why is Sup Forums so slow paced these days?

Are 32 bit or 64 bit processors faster? I remember someone telling me the latter, and some googling seems to indicate that a lot of people think the same thing, but I remain unconvinced as the people answering didn't seem to have a deeper understanding.
I'm wondering, wouldn't a 64bit processors always have longer critical paths in the various components than the 32bit equivalents? Or are there 32bit components included in most 64bit processors? Obviously when handling large data sets there are advantages to 64bit, like more RAM, but shouldn't raw computing power be superior on 32bit processors?

Ok so my operating system on my PC is all fucked up. I was running windows 10 that I had downloaded over 8.1, and now my pc is trying to boot to the old 8.1 I think, so my plan is to just wipe everything on the drives and reinstall 10 from a fresh install. My question is how should I go about wiping everything? Is there a method to clean everything once I have the fresh install of 10 aready running or should I try to use a different PC to wipe the drives and then reinstall 10 onto the empty drives?

its not clear what you are asking.
all variables have a type.
the type can be basic like int, long, boolean i guess or it can be complex like an object. an object is an instance of a class. classes have methods (functions) and values (i can't remember if thats the right term but they are just variables).
enums are not extra code, they are a way of assigning an arbitrary tag to an integer for your own benefit. there is no overhead in the compiled program, when you compile it the computer throws all your enums away because it can keep track without naming everything.
but c++ is oop and oop people don't like enums, they like things like static,const,final keywords or something? (don't ask me what they all mean!) that make variables immutable (is that the right word?)
i doubt you can store the type of something, why would you need to do that? c is kind of strongly typed so it probably shouldn't let you check the type because you should fucking well know the type.
i guess you could write a function with an overload for each type and return a value based on which function ran. so its possible in theory i guess.

Never had a CPU with more than 1 thread per core? Each thread is seen as another core by windows. Except for in programs like cpu-z where it will show you not only core count, but independent thread count as well.

Unrelated but is it safe to use an old Android version as a daily driver? I have an old Verizon note 3 whose firmware cannot be flashed, this not allowing custom Roms to be installed. Laptop was giving me trouble so I wiped it clean and tried to install Windows 7 on it. Emphasis on tried. During setup it says there's nothing to install it to. Only sees the CD drive. Pretty sure I had AOMEI wipe out the partitions and data. What's going on? Do I need to outright buy a new drive to make sure?

seconding dban. if you just let it run it'll spend ~12 hours doing passes of garbage data over everything and then overwrite it with all zeros, or type 'quick' command to just do the layer of zeros. If you're not worried about the feds physically sanding off the outer layers of your hard drive's platters to get at the data traces underneath, the quick option is fine.
