La sourris really is a marvel of engineering.
Does it really have two 'r's?
Wups, typo.
> JLC make quartz watches then attempt to sell for kilobux
How is this not shitter company territory
Do they at least do thermocompensation like seiko's 9F or the rolex oysterquartz?
Not according to watch wiki
Are buying Seikos just throwing away money?
buy them to impress yourself with how much money you can throw away
nah
...
I guess this is mine now. Seiko 5Actus with 6106 movement (a 6105 with day-date), for $55 total, Japanese seller.
I bought it as a service/restore project, the movement seems fine.
Also won this Cosmotron for $38. It's listed as non-working so it should be a more serious project.
It's gonna be 36000bph of electric goodness once it runs again.
That's a nice dial.
These look dressy as fuck perfect got a job interview

they have less to do with fashion than we do with technology lel
though now I'm wondering if it's common for them to wear broken watches since they only do it for looks anyway
It's kinda Seiko-like. Citizen was always shit with their designs, but the Cosmotrons are mostly nice. And it's a fucking hi-beat electric.
What's with the green bit?
I always read this as Cactus
ballsactus
Probably just a bit of PCB to carry power over to the coil under the balance wheel.
PCB.
Shitposting from my phone at the post office, fucking crackwhore postlady was too lazy to ring the doorbell.
Its probably that shitton of tools i ordered from Cousins
This might get posted a lot, but does anyone have any idea what model Casio this is? I'm just curious.
DO-6SH1-T
Looks like some variation of the aq-230.
Vostok just started releasing their new batch of Amphibians with full milled stainless steel bezel and crown. Pricing remains the same and there's currently free shipping so there's really nothing not to like.
>Pricing remains the same and there's currently free shipping so there's really nothing not to like.
Link?
Source in image, m8. Come on.
Can you buy the parts separately?
Not yet, although you could try asking directly.
Those aren't new cases though, are they? They have different reference numbers
...
160 is new, 150 and 670 are recent and prior SE exclusives.
Can someone post images of their SARB035? looks like an appealing stealth 'pseudo-wealth' watch.
If my taste maddens you, show me something else
Are halios good?
They're a good microbrand from all that I've read. The only problem (like with many microbrands) is months of nothing between runs. The laguna is up for preorder right now though.
I was thinking sea forth as i have bitch wrists
What is the best NATO seller on Amazon?
Mid-april is likely when it'll be up then m8.
Not 35 but here's my 33 on a dark brown leather strap.
I wonder how many will people will downgrade theirs to the brass bezel just to look like the Soviet Amphibias.
Also I wonder if these are exactly the old octogonal cases or just a modern remake. Hopefully some autist here or on WUS will own both and do a comparison.
Has anyone bought from CIVO natos on amazon? I can't decide what kind of strap to put my 1963 that's in the mail on. Any ideas on what looks good?
Oh ok
Dark red.
Brown leather. Don't buy Chinese shit. Don't get a NATO
Actually a dark blood red perlon would look good I think.
Think my memeinist is growing on me. When I first opened the package I want sure what to make of it as it looks do unusual.
The chink leather strap is awful though and someone at seiko needs to commit sudoku
I think I will get a strap like this
I like perlons. Where do you buy them?
Holben's Fine Watch Bands has a good selection of EULIT perlons if you are in North America.
So I'm thinking of buying my first expensive watch (by my standards) will the Traser H3 P6600 Elite Red last my lifetime? will the glow ever go completely? how durable is it 1-10? does anyone here have it if so whats your opinion on it? how often should I resync the time to make sure its accurate?
The strap is comfy as hell, I got it from the Watch Gecko eBay store.
post owlpenis pics
I'm at work phone shitposting at the mo
take photos using your phone. your boss won't know.
Most people aren't familiar with random, Chinese shitters you find on alibaba or Amazon my man.
The tritium will last 10-20 years which should be more than enough for the average watch. Assuming it's not made of the absolute cheapest potmetal it's durability will be fine unless you plan on deliberately and violently beating your arm against concrete constantly. Plus it's generic quartz garbage so there isn't a whole lot to break and if it does replacement is cheap.
I don't know why you wouldn't just get a G-shock instead of buying a pricey 45mm hunk of metal that's inside is probably 90% air.
Do you want shitty photos now or good photos in 2 and a half hours when I get home tho
but you're always home, mama's boy
it's not chinese it's swiss made using Ronda 517.6 DD Quartz movement which only deviates 9 seconds per month is this bad? also I'm going for something I can wear to pubs without looking like a chav
oh also made out of carbon fiber and steel so should be fine there
If you wanted a watch that lasts, you'd get a solar casio.
I want something I can wear in formal/social occasions
>I want something I can wear in formal/social occasions
You don't want the gigantic tacticool Traser garbage then.
>it's not chinese it's swiss made
Swiss made doesn't mean anything anymore. They know how to get around the laws.
>using Ronda 517.6 DD Quartz movement which only deviates 9 seconds per month is this bad?
It's fine but you're spending an awful lot of money for a fucking quartz watch.
>also I'm going for something I can wear to pubs without looking like a chav
You can't do that with any behemoth dive watch. You ever see pictures of your parents from the 1970s/80s and see how tacky and stupid their attire was and think "what on earth was going through their fucking head?", well that will be you if you wear a 45mm dive watch around everywhere.
It looks like a Chinese shitter and labeled as a "tactical mission watch" Lol. If you really like that brand, some of their "officer" watches look alright
Also,
>45mm
Hope you're not a skelington
ok lads do either of you have suggestions for a durable watch under £300 that's analog and would look ok in formal/social settings i.e no gshock
No one is in the office today so I get to wear my ZULU without being judged by other adults.
Go on Amazon and search "Timex". Find something between 36mm and 40mm that you like.
will do but before I do are wenger any good for watches? found a nice one I like but I only know the company from swiss army knives - thanks for the help by the way
Nice meme on the meme on meme strap
any good used/vintage watch stores in tokyo? or watches that I wouldn't be able to find in the US? looking to spend less than $200
I didn't know my small collection was nothing but memes until I found out about /wt/
They are about as good as Timex. They will be fine but again, don't go much over say, 42mm because anything bigger is going to be mullet-tier looking back.
I mean fuck Rolex GMTs and Submariners are 40mm and they used to be considered big for men's watches.
It's ok. There will be new memes in a couple months
I want the dark blue variant of that watch
the white is too metro for me
It's more of a cream color than white.
Just bought this vintage Seiko 5 for 26 dollars off ebay, thinking of polishing the bracelet and the case with cape cod.
My questions are:
-How much money should cost me sending it to a watchmaker to clean the logo on the dial?
-The auction said "japan made" and the bottom of the dial says japan 6309 but auction was from india. This means only the movement is japan made and the rest was made on india? Or everything was made on Japan like the title said and then selled on india?
Please no shitposting I know you guys hate most things related to india but I really liked this watch.
even gayer
there is nothing wrong with Sinn
It's 26 dollars who gives a shit.
Nice franken, don't waste your money on watches out of India.
Buy some tools and take that bitch apart yourself. For science.
You just spent $26 too much for a curry filled, cobbled together with shit covered child sweatshop hands frankenwatch that will probably stop working within 3 days of you receiving it.
Never EVER buy used watches from India or South East Asia (excepting Japan and one guy in Singapore). They are all frakenwatch garbage.
lol i got a type 2 for $30 shipped from japan
Alright, thanks anyway.

Why does lume always look white in photos but light green when I get the watch?
And I mean during the day when the lune is off
>Why does lume always look white in photos but light green when I get the watch?
Because luminova is shit. Ruins a lot of dials IMO.
Are JLC good ?
Yeah, which one do you want?
They try and sell quartz watches without a second hand for £3000
I seriously don't get the appeal of swimming with a watch but seeing as how everyone keeps asking if they can swim in their watch I'm clearly a minority.
I've never once needed to know the time whilst swimming
