I just want a quiet pc without my SSD being raped by chrome.

Then use another browser
????

put the cache on a ramdisk

Firefox is slow as fuck for me.

>Thinking yourSSD will die from writes in your lifetime

Then suck it up and

>buy high performance tires for your car
>cover them in chains so they don't get 'used'.

Kek

>not having a shitty case
Should have bought an R5 retard

>having*

>using jewgle chrome

Make your own 1GB ramdisk with imdisk and cmd script in the Task Scheduler.

root@gnu-linux ~ # echo $current year

root@gnu-linux ~ #

get a browser with about:config, faget

date +"%Y"

you literally have to write to your ssd 24/7 at max speed for years before it fails
dumb ribbitor

>Writing 20GB of shit to my SSD a day
At that rate your SSD will take several decades to reach its TBW limit.

>view 20GB of websites of *content* a day
>wonder why your browser writes 20GB a day
really makes ya think

2tb per 100 days ~7tb per year. Are we at 70tbw+ for a decade of use?

>7tb per year
Mofo would run out of space on my computer in half of march

date +"%Y" =/= $current_year

850 EVO claims at least 75TBW (up to 300TBW)
and this op is crying about 20GB written
>kek

t. a fucking idiot who doesn't understand what is being talked about.

enlighten me

My SSD is now at 5.2 TBW after 1 year and about 2 months. Let's say 5 TB a year. Would take 15 years to reach the 75 TBW limit.

You have to try extra hard to hit the write limit on any modern SSD.

this is Sup Forums we're talking about here

It's an empty variable. Echoing $current_year on its own is an empty string until you define it.

current_year=$(date "+%Y")
echo $current_year

install firefox
put firefox cache on RAM
problem solved

even easier: "browser.cache.disk.enable => false" then only memory cache will be used.
