"Let's pretend you were swimming in the deep ocean and you really don't know what's underneath you, you have no idea what's underneath you...

Well that's kind of the situation of a modern programmer, they're in the deep ocean; they're doing a web application and it's so far down to the bottom hardware. The hardware is at the bottom of the ocean. And when you are in the middle of the ocean, boy you are a long way from anything called hardware.

In the old days, it was kind of a shallow lake and you walked on the bottom and you waded out in the little pond and that's how you lived; you walked on the bottom of a muddy pond and you had your feet on the hardware and you knew what was underneath you. It's a completely different feeling. It's a different feeling when you are in a pond and you have your feet on the bottom. It's qualitatively different than being in the middle of the ocean where you have absolutely no idea what is underneath you. Modern programmers have no idea."

Was he right, Sup Forums?

Uh I solved some Project Euler problems in C so basically I'm a master programmer

Take this to

I bet you don't even know a register is.

I do, you probably don't even know what a shift register is.
What is a ripple counter? Can you even implement a johnson's counter?

>Babby's first digital electronics shit

stop trying too hard guys

Did you mean that for ?

I took some hardware-related courses at University, so I'm going to flaunt my shit if I have the opportunity to.

>I took some hardware-related courses at University
and you think this makes you special?

Yes. I am straight up better than you.

thank you for being part of making this board shittier by the day

You're just jealous.

Banning C toddlers are necessary

C is just a language senpai

k

He does. He operates the register daily at Walmart.

hey man my mom works at walmart, not cool man

Employed Haskell programmer here, making 300k

Is it easy to learn haskell if I know cpp?
Just want to learn a bit of everything.

>cpp
I don't think there is such a thing as a "C Preprocessor programmer".

>Is it easy to learn haskell if I know cpp?
No

300k really? Or just the /sci/-meme math phd 300k

>I don't think there is such a thing as a "C Preprocessor programmer".
Any large enough C project will inevitably devolve into a contest in who can ass rape the preprocessor hardest into to providing features higher level languages support out of the box.

Just look at the Linux kernel, it relies on so many GCC hacks it will never be fully supported on Clang.

>inb4 the clang linux project link
Read what it actually says, it's only able to compile certain configurations for a reduced set of architectures.

Hesslellers like to believe their meme language is mathematics (because muh lambda calculus), so yes it's an extension of the phd in mathematics meme.
