In a sense we should be thankful that Mozilla has decided to euthanise themselves by removing the only reason anyone still uses their browser over chrome.
But it's still sad seeing an old friend get a terrible illness and have no choice but to kill themselves.
Vivaldi
Firefox
Ublock origin is moving to Web extension, so I'm happy.
Mozilla baffles me.
>Have great browser (Mozilla)
>Put more and more shit into it
>our browser is too slow because we put too much shit into it, we need to start fresh
>Have great browser (Firefox)
>repeat
Is webextensions bad? Why should I not use addons made with it?
I will use whatever fork TST dev will use. Or I will make my own. With TST at its core.
Lynx
The problem is that they're dropping support for XUL extensions (literally most extensions).
Some of them will maybe be ported over, but many, many will not. Classic theme restorer is dead and gone come November for example.
I can only hope they give better UI customization options when this happens or I will be looking elsewhere. Knowing Mozilla they won't do this though, so I'm already looking now.
Fuck, CTR is a must have with how hopelessly ugly and unfunctional default ff theme is
sad
fpbp
it's as if their devs are paid to sabotage their shit in favor of other browsers
Exclusively Chrome and I'll use a download manager instead of DownThemAll
Vivaldi my melanin-gifted friends
I have been using firefox for i dont remember how long but after last update i think im finished with it.
Fucking trash cant handle site like facebook or youtube and freezes all the time.
Right now i on chromium botnet, fuck it.
I was never exploring other options, is there any good browser for linux?
shit went downhill since they introduced rounded corners, like in chrome
i thought chromium is opensource - why botnet?
fuck your vivaldi piece of shit, but your comment made me kek
i like 4 seasons but is browser good?
I never tried it
tell me 4 real nigga
Nice website vivaldi, nice download speed you fucking poor retards
Shit is dank yo. It's Chromium but with some extra bells and whistles. Slam that muthafuckin' download button foo'
Doing it
Probably Iridium.
Will hold on with 52 esr for long time being, after it being EOS will jump to palemoon probably, or finally accepting no vertical tabs on chromium.
as if chrome is not bloated enough
I'm starting to work on my webkit-based linux-only web browser. There will be no javascript, because it become cancer today and sites which don't work without js should kys. Interface could be similar to pic related and dns query ad/tracking filter will be inbuilt.
It can't be popular, but if you guys can make nice logo and name, I will be pleased.
Even opensource Chromium have proprietary binary blobs that calls home, so there is not much difference between Chrome and Chromium.
Have you tried all the usual troubleshooting methods?
Remove unnecessary add-ons. Start in safe-mode (with add-ons disabled) and see if the problem persists. (Just hold down your shift key while starting Firefox.)
Resetting your user profile (can be done through "Troubleshooting Information" in the "Help" menu of the main menu.)
Probably jump to waterfox or another forks.
Firefox.
I expect that all add-ons I use will be ported.
>webkit based
so just another chrome reskin
well shit...
I was using nochromox64 for my android thinking to myself i'm ninja senpai
It seems a bit silly to leave Firefox for a different browser because of this change, since you'd just be moving to another browser which has exactly the same problem you're leaving Firefox for.
I don't use too many extensions anyway. Of the few I do use, most of them are likely to be fairly straightforward to port to WebExtensions. My main concern is Greasemonkey, as it seems like it's pretty much destined to just be Tampermonkey now, and Tampermonkey is garbage.
>firefags is ded because i cant customize it anymore and some addons maybe won't get ported over
Vivaldi, it's the one i've been using since release desu
Looks like I'm staying with ESR forever...
chrome and safari
oh wait...
correct.
What you're making has already been made and is called Dillo or Netsurf.
Safari on my Mac and Chrome on my Windows.
i'm going to stick with firefox, why would i want to switch? only using a handfull of (popular) extentions that will most likely migrate.
Do you use Self-destructing cookies on firefox?
That addon will not work on WebExtensions
>Tampermonkey is garbage
Why?
Thanks, NetSurf was what I wanted. Quick and easy like my sexual performance.
I'm going to actually start working on my own browser based on Servo. Firefox is dead to me.
NetSurf javascript is shit, can't even post here with it.
>thankful
No. But if there's hardly a reason to use Firefox over anything else, I'll use anything else.
cao burazeru. korisni yandex brovzer.
It's important when the only reason you use Firefox is for a bunch of addons that radically change the browser.
The sad part is there's no replacement for it either.
I'm thinking about giving ChrOpera another go. Maybe it's decent now.
I'll keep using the same one I've always been using: SeaMonkey.
>TST dev
the what dev?
Firefox. I hope they'll start integrating Servo by then.
I think I can go with non-js DuckDuckGo and Wikipedia. All I need. Then abandon Sup Forums.
I don't really care that these extensions are losing support.
There's no browser with better extension support anyway, and if you use Firefox nightly it's just as fast as ungoogled chromium.
>Then abandon Sup Forums.
Are you implying you can ever leave?
This -- ublock origin is the only extension that matters.
Will HTTPS Everywhere and uBlock origin work? If so Firefox, if not Chrome/Chromium or Vivaldi.
Unless they make an alternative to classic theme restorer I don't know what I'll do.
Jokes on you, I'll be dead before November.
>Then abandon Sup Forums
That's cute.
chrome and chromium based on webkit fork called blink, so no, it is rather 'safari' reskin.
Make a Youtube live stream, so we can laugh at your misery.
Palemoon
xul is insecure shit anyway
webkit/blink
well but is a fork of either engine free of binary blobs from aplel/gugol?
or even the engine themselves arent really 100% open?
thats a huge difference, on the free side at least, on functionality its another matter entirely, and wouldn't really superseed all uses of firefox
why not do one based on gecko?
assuming you could have it future compatible with the current firefox extensions, while still taking advantage of mozilla security updates for the engine, i dont know if mi maknig any sense actuayl
I won't give the botnet my suicide.
You guys can come to the place I'll tell you when the day comes if you want.
>still caring about the web
Take the Cabin Pill.
Firefox fork
Probably Edge. At least using it gets me those sweet Bing points.
If someone is going to fuck me against my will I might as well get paid for it.
Seconded.
also, performance is still good when you block 90+% of all non-essential scripts.
I just won't update for now. If, however, something happens and I have to migrate to a different browser down the road, I guess I'll use Chromium. At least it's open source, unlike Chrome.
give it a couple years, and you will get tired of your porn collection and you will want broadband and a browser again
Such a garbage browser, almost as bad as Firefox or Edge
>I just won't update for now
you do know that every now and then any blink/webkit/gecko browser falls prey to a drive-by-infection dont you? and not all of them depended on javascript or media or some other plugin
do you like catching malware?
even if you only visit facebook and redit and gaysex.com, eventually the site falls to filter user submitted content and the malware catches you, i hope you have a backup scheme that can resist crypto malwares, and that you have a separate netbook or android device for internet banking and stuff
Edge is literally not even a bad browser, it's minimal and decently fast, smooth scrolling, touch friendly, still has shit Webm support though
FireFox.
Might try Vivaldi
>Edge
you forgot about closed source, how is it even an option? haha (not to mention youre likely using winfows 8/10 to run it)
>Most likely
No i'm going to run IE6 through WINE
Uzbl-tabbed
> why not do one based on gecko?
Assuming gecko will be abandoned by mozilla in early 2018 in favor of quantum and will reach end-of-life by then and it won't receive any security or otherwise updates, he made right choice.
> or even the engine themselves arent really 100% open?
Assuming there are public audits of both engines somewhere - they can answer this question.
firefox esr, palemoon, or seamonkey.
This.
Ive been using Waterfox and Cyberfox the past few months, still get these random lockups occasionally. I don't know if that's because webpages load 1000 js for no reason or because my pc is a bit dated (x4 640, 16gb meme ram) but its frustrating browsing the web nowadays.
firefox is dead anyways chrome all the way
Why does this keep happening
I have ublock and, new tab override and arc dark theme
If they stop working theres no point for me to use firefox, i will just migrate my bookmarks and say babay to firefoz and the SJW
>I told you about bloat bro!!!!
>I told you dog!
The bloat is never ending.
>300mb just for something putting words and pictures on the screen.
whichever firefox fork seems most promising at the time.
Is pentadactyl gonna work?
If not, what other browsers support it?
I wish it worked on seamonkey
>say babay to [...] the SJW
and how will you do that
I guess they will try to add APIs to make it work.
wiki.mozilla.org
"Vimperator/Pentadactyl" is listed under "Interesting Add-ons".
Then again, that page was last modified in August 2015.
Seamonkey and palemoon are the last bastion against freedom from the google botnet.
Don't worry, Microsoft will open-source EdgeHTML and save us, user.
>Then again, that page was last modified in August 2015.
Exactly
They don't give a fuck
If anything I better they're gonna move to block extensions like this, probably getting money from google to hinder adblock somehow
Not true at all, there's still GNU IceCat, surf, Uzbl, rekonq, and a few others I don't remember right now.
>GNU IceCat
Literally just firefox with different branding you moron
So is Pale Meme.
Palememe is shit as well
We need a new browser thats:
>Open source
>proper extension interface
>Not bloated to all fuck
>No involvement from google
it was, afaik it's been seperate since australis
