Pushkin is a fucking legend
Handsome as fuck too
Or maybe this guy, I can't decide
WHAT THE FUCK REEEEEEEEEE
First of all, the fuck has Abkhazia to do with Russia
Secondly, those blacks were bought by Georgian western king in Stambul as slaves to work on plantations, but it did not work, so he just left them one 1 village to live.
And that is not a real hair, it's a Caucasian hat
Do you have Finnish translation of his works?
tfw had to memorize Pushkin's shitty rhymes at school in Russian
I got nothing against Pushkin particularly, i just hate rhymes
Did you go to a Russian high school or something?
P sure Edgar Allan Poe is more famous than Twain isn't it?
You did not have to study Russian at school?
>P sure Edgar Allan Poe is more famous than Twain isn't it?
Not sure outside of America. Here you'll read both in school but I'd say Twain is more revered. Though Poe was the only other name that crossed my mind so you could certainly debate it.
Honestly Steinbeck (right above Twain) probably beats out both. I think I had to read at least 3 or 4 of his novels in school and Grapes of Wrath is read by just about everyone in HS.
Not in last years of school but when I did it was just basic grammar and vocab.
Which school did you go to anyway?
I had to study Russian from 3rd to 11th grade. Well, i knew Russian since childhood anyway, so i never had to actually study, but still.
I think it was the case with almost all schools here.
I went to a school in Tbilisi, i guess you are the Batumi one
>the most important

whoever i post i'm gonna get 20 angry frenchmen insulting me for not choosing the right one
I'm from Tbilisi too. finished high school there and then moved to Batumi.
Your school curriculum was somewhat non-standard I guess
no idea matey.
I changed a couple of schools, Russian + X foreign language was mandatory in both.
Except in 12th class
Either Poe or Twain
...
it's best just to ignore them, friend
In Spain, in literature classes we study some of both but Poe is regarded as a greater figure who influenced the horror genre & short stories and such so yeah I'd say Poe is way more famous/important
Interesting. Never really thought about it but obviously it's got to vary by country.
I was surprised that the Russian didn't say Tolstoy or Dostoyevsky for example.
mark twain's books are quintessential americana
huck finn, tom sawyer, a conecticut yankee in king arthurs court
whereas poe is more of a universal writer where his urban gothic horror short stories can really take place anywhere
he's a jew
