Good af.
Cajuns are displaced French-speakers originating from Canada who settled in Louisiana after the British expelled them out of fear of revolts. They talk a weird mix of black-southern vernacular and French. They are pretty much integrated with the local, non-Cajun French-Americans. You can tell the difference between them and an Anglo Louisianian pretty easily. A few are mixed race because of different attitude on race and there are some villages where most of the locals speak French to each other.
Their influenced has waned considerably, from at the turn of the 1950s about half the population of the state spoke French, to now about 10%, and decreasing because the youngest generation has no interest in being Cajun, beyond the rural types.

true detective
everything in the bayou and south louisiana has old-timey rustic cajun culture.
everything north is ghetto/white trash.
They were a group of JUST French Canadian cucks from Montreal with a huge IR fetish who volunteered to go to southern Lousiana in the 1800s just to watch their wives get BLACKED by African slaves
their accent is bastardized quebecois with maritime native influences.
creoles which are usually not in the bayou have some african/spanish influences on their language.
Over here m8
