Is it weird that I love American suburbs? Everybody seems to hate them but I think they are cozy as fuck.
My cousin lives in a similar neighborhood where every house is just red bricks and I like it way more than some boring mixed neighborhood.

...
>middle class housing
Absolutely disgusting.
If you say so
who gives a shit either way
how meaningless does your life have to be that you put effort into hating or loving something people are doing thousands of miles away
Of course, with all those refugees, comfy white suburbs will become a lot more popular.
Why would there be anything weird about it? Suburban living is what people strive for their whole lives here.
very
but user, colored folk can't afford to live around those neighborhoods. How in the world will you be culturally enriched?
I find them kinda boring and untiristing, also zoning laws take all the fun out of having so much fucking space.
If I were to buy a house in the suburbs I'd rather buy a 4 acre terrain and make a huge fucking mansion over the course of my lifetime.
i don't even know where you find suburbs that loook like these
I mean don't get me wrong, suburbs still have horrible ergonomic planning, but I don't and have never seen one that looks as bad as the memes posted on Sup Forums
They look very comfy, but I heard people kill themselves often.
Seriously. The one I live in looks a lot closer to this than that pattern arr rook same shit that I always see posted on Sup Forums. Even this is a bit dense though.
i prefer this
There's definitely far more trees in my suburbs than the ones on Sup Forums
Some really good ones are completely forested. Those are nice.
>The one I live in
are you rich?
kek no. Mortgages can be easily handled by 2 people who make 45k per year, which is really shitty pay. If you both make at least 60k, you can easily live in an upper middle class neighborhood where you'd have houses that look like this.
Those back yards looks kind of... public, why would you do that?
oh! wow. that's great! i wish I was american
because they can.
we down here on the south need to worry about criminals.
>"""""""homes""""" in the southwest
southwest has the worst urban planning, no doubt about it
Fug that is beautiful. Ugly baseball diamonds kind of ruin it though
Suburban housing isn't that expensive
this is my s'burb
4/10 it's in florida wouldn't recommend
>baseball
>ugly
stay away
I always thought it was, because it looks so nice, and the houses are so big!
>Swimming For Adults Afraid
wow ur livin on the edge man chill buddy
It's not about crime, it's about privacy m8... and no, you don't have to worry about criminals in closed comunities here, that's why people lives in closed comunities.
Well, you'll be making mortgage payments until you're in your 50's or so, but it's manageable
>The houses are so big!
I always forget that people who don't live in the US, Australia, and Canada live like sardines
>closed communities.
Sounds like a scam to raise housing prices
I'm sorry I'm poor and brazillian.
I should've worked harder so I could be an american
I live on this golf course, pretty cozy, if you turned this pic around you'd see the ocean
>I should've worked harder so I could be an american
You still can be
believe in urself
I used to do valet parking there. Lel
living in suburbs in the US is so shit
you literally need a car to do anything, my local bus transit takes 1 hour 25 minutes to get to a grocery store 15 minutes away by car
if you want cozy suburb living, go to Norway
they have some rule where they need a shopping center in the middle of every suburb so people are able to walk to get food.
They also have housing communities strictly for kids so every home is a 25-30yr old family with a few kids running around, and a giant play area between the homes that all kids can use.
You won't find any of this shit here, everything is just for yourself, you're supposed to make shit work on your own.
How?
Richfags
really? where do you live?
>living anywhere near the beach in CA
Hello millionaire
it's my dad's money though, as an individual i'm poor
Huntington Beach is not expensive, neither is Long Beach really
>it's my dad's money though, as an individual i'm poor
I fucking hate when people do this.
Yeah, the money isn't yours, but you get to use it.
You get to live like a fucking king!
Stop pretending that you're fucking poor.
>American suburbs
Yeah I toured a lot of Europe last year and their hotels and living accommodations are a fucking joke by comparison.
They are rooms for ants.
Fuck suburbs
Hate's just a grass is green mentality, OP
people complain that your average joe in the States gets a nice large house, land, and a comfortable neighborhood, without realizing that your average European is doing the same thing but in a cramped row house or apartment
I grew up in the city and was always really jealous of my suburb friends
>Nazca lines looking bullshit
I'm not sure how American immigration works, I just know that other people consider it to be difficult
>kek no. Mortgages can be easily handled by 2 people who make 45k per year, which is really shitty pay. If you both make at least 60k, you can easily live in an upper middle class neighborhood where you'd have houses that look like this.
Maybe in Kansas
I thought most people here disaproved of immigration.
This is disgusting. The average east coast suburb has trees and varried houses.
Cuck mentality
We don't need you scum. You bail ship when the going gets tough.
Grew up in a suburb and I hated it. No culture, nothing to do, you have to drive your car even if you just want to get a bottle of soda at a convenience store, etc. I live in NYC now and it's infinitely better.
OP's pic looks like Midwest
argie ones are a little less autistic and for some reason they always have artificial lakes
Happiness surveys show that Western Europe consistently is happier than America. Since the 1970's.
But I think it went to hell after 2011-2012 when they had the Eurozone crisis.
In America? Some people hate Mexicans outright, most just hate illegal immigrants.
So long as you don't look like some seedy motherfucker, you'll be fine
>average
Nice bait
This but DC. (Specifically Northwest DC where I won't get shot, yet).
maybe around the Mediterranean
Thanks, man! You fill me with hope!
I'll get my degree and then try to get a green card.
>be American
>claim you won't get shot
>get shot anyway
this desu I can't wait to move out
the nearest store is an hour's walk away
to drive takes 10 minutes
take a street view shot pls
>Publix
publix is great though
I hate when people meme about the size of our accomodations
If you live in the city , no shit you'll live in a smaller flat
But on the outskirts I'd be very surprised to find significantly less spacious houses than in the US
It's statistically shown that European houses are smaller.
But that's because of higher urbanizarion in Europe. It's also cultural. American bodies need more space and wider doors you see. We are built up.
US has 81% urbanization rate vs 75% in Germany you fucking retarded faggot idiot
Sorry for the shitty quality, that's the first thing I found on Panoramio, sadly as they're gated comunities there's no GSV available
shit these are nicer than our gated communities
My grandmother use to live in Newport Beach....about 12 blocks from the Newport Beach Pier over looking Balboa Island....It was a alright location but no fucking sidewalks anywhere and the urban sprawl was hard to navigate.
no it's not, you've just gone to poverty tier gated neighborhoods
that isn't nicer than my non-gated neighborhood you pathetic poorfag
Huh well I never noticed that. It's cultural for sure, not to do with Urbanization. You have a vastly higher surface area to live on than any European cunt so naturally you'll have larger houses.
Yeah, this is why I couldn't stand the suburbs.
Meanwhile in NY
>walk outside of apartment
>go to bodega a block away
>buy some food
>go back home
Walk takes maybe 4 minutes in one direction. Faster than a car in the suburbs and I get some exercise.
That's because people like are considered urban you nigger faggot retarded idiot
Its also because you need more energy to heat up a big house during winters. Literally no reason whatsoever to own a big house with unused space and extra costs other than social status that only neurotypicals care about.
well, gated communities here are for rich fags, it's not like middle class murican suburbs... they have some similarities though.
US statistics tend to consider suburbs as "urban" even though they're """"""urban""""" in an extremely extended sense
Suburbs are dull, I like my urban residential neighborhoods
-Less property to take care of
-Get to know more people than just your immediate neighbo
-Every block is architecturally differentr
-Always has new people coming and going
-More shit is within walking distance so you don't need to drive to buy a carton of milk or a pack of smokes
-Has an actual nightlife
-Has actual shit to do than just hang around the house
a lot of that is in the city of pittsburgh
>Get to know more people than just your immediate neighbo
If you even recognize your neighbors you're doing it wrong
>I don't live in a comfy urban area
I want to move to the city but literally everywhere is shooting up in prices
I was looking to move to seattle when I was in highschool a few years ago.
All over the city there were places for like $700-900 a month, doable with a roommate
now I literally can't find anything for less than $1000
will I be stuck in the burbs with my mom forever
You lucky cunt. If I won the lottery first thing I would do is buy a wooded lakefront property like that. Spend the rest of my life fishing and reading
i'm right next to Seattle
>I will never live next to a lake
Move to an "ethnically diverse" neighborhood. Property values are lower and racist landlords will be more willing to work with you. Been doing it for 3 years and apart from that one time I almost got shot it's been okay.
can I move in with you
it's actually not a lake, here's another shot from the front
I want cozy narrow streets for everyone.
I get the appeal of suburbs though
>big property
>you can't build in it
If zoning laws were more laxed, those suburbs would go urban cery easily
Lucky bastard I'd kill to live somewhere like that. How expensive are houses there?
what parts of seattle are ethnically diverse
will they be gentrified by the time I get out of college in two years
All life is meaningless
...
That looks great
...
It is
t. someone else who lives on Puget Sound.
boring, I love city.
Ur boring lmao
Oh. I was picturing something more like this.
>cozy
looks boring as fuck, i bet nothing ever happens in those suburbs
>i bet nothing ever happens in those suburbs
That's why it's cozy
Is that Bainbridge?
