It was completely legal and allowed in the rulebook.
you can fuck off too bruce
In hindsight, why didn't he step aside and let it be a dead ball when he saw the underarm coming? But anyway the cunt would've bowled another underarm.
lol
It was within the laws of the game at that point - they only made it illegal after this incident. The Aussies did the right thing, their job is to win and they won.
lmao get fuked you salty poofters

It would've been within his rights to let it be a dead ball as well. Just to force Chapell to bowl another underarm.
Why didn't anyone try it before this incident though?
>Binland :D
:^)
Wouldn't it only be a dead ball if it stops before reaching the wicket? As long as it makes it through to the keeper I'm pretty sure it would have been fine I think.
I think this was the first time it had ever been tried because it was quite a specific situation (i.e. exactly 6 needed to win off the last ball). Earlier on in the game it would be a bit pointless, because for a batsman it'd be relatively easy to put a rolling ball away for a single or a two because you can't really get any pace/spin/swing on it.
>exactly 6 needed to win off the last ball
To draw, actually.
I was thinking along the lines of when a batsman moves aside because of movement on the sightscreen/insect entering underwear etc.
Fair point well made.
Ahh I see, just being a cunt and moving to the side every time he saw an underarm ball coming? Could have maybe guilted the Aussie into bowling a proper delivery but I doubt it - umpires would probably have intervened at some point and just awarded the Aussies the victory if the New Zealand team was deliberately avoiding the last ball.
>caring about some random baseball match
that's field hockey you dumb monkey
Why don't they play the better sport "baseball"?
Someone want to fill me in on what the fuck this is all about?
Seppos and Nips and Hues please kindly fek off. Cricket is and always will be superior to baseball
It's the last ball of the match and New Zealand need exactly 6 runs to draw. 6 runs is scored if you hit the ball over the boundary rope without it bouncing. Aussie bowler decided to roll the ball to the batter instead of bowling a normal delivery, thus making it impossible for him to hit a 6. Rules were changed afterwards to ban rolling the ball.
