You'd just buy it, feel great for buying it and then leave it in a corner for a long period of time to get dust.
Buy a notebook if you need to stay on the internet outside
I feel the same way. I think itd be fun as fuck playing ps1 games at work tho. Even skyrim
As someone who has bought a lot of shit for the novelty of it, only to leave it all sitting somewhere, I support this user's wise suggestion. Or you could buy it and sell it on ebay when u r done with it. It depends on how much net cost you evaluate entertaining ur curiosity at
Looks pretty neat. How much does it run for? What are the specs?
Buy a PGS Hardcore instead and have it be your phone too. Plus then it's good for ds games as well.
Not out yet but way more worth it.
Never heard of this before, just looked it up and not gonna lie, probably going to pre order one.
I'm normally the one to call shit like this gimmicky, but this just looks aesthetic as fuck.
Why don't you tell us, Chang?
300
When the fuck is it coming out. I might just wait for that. I heard its never happening
That shit is a scam you fucking idiot. After one goddamn year of preordering they haven't even released a single prototype. Don't fall for Chinese scammers.
Thats y i havent bithered with that shit
My buddy uses his all the time for emulators and loves it, depends on what you plan to do with it I guess.
>its not that powerful
How much power are you expecting from a handheld device?
SHILL ching-chong shit
>discussing a commercial product = shilling
Sup Forums was so much better before the le ebin shill maymay
>Literary a shill thread
Fuck off GPD, I actually own one and enjoy talking about them, but thanks to your shilling, we can't have threads anymore because they get shitposted asap.
No, there's a obvious difference between a user making a thread for discussion and shilling. This is the latter.
How? Not only did he not mention the name of the product, he actually posted something negative about it. A shill would have done neither of those things.
get a pyra instead.
>armshit
>How?
Maybe read the posts? This shit is scripted as fuck.
8-bit Guy did a video on it. Verdict: It's shit.
it's such a cute
>omg I absolutely have to run crysis 3 on max settings on my mobile shitter
>whole point is running PC games
>can't run PC games
Yeah, the Pyra is totally a decent alternative to the Win.
It's a shitty review to be honest.
Even when I'd never buy the device myself.
We are talking about a UMPC running Windows, Pyra isn't even in the same category.
Yes because an intel atom is such a great processor for games anyway.
This is like having a dick contest with all contestants having tiny dicks. What's the fucking point in arguing about it? You're not gonna buy either for serious pc gaming.
>Yes because an intel atom is such a great processor for games anyway.
It's certainly better than a processor with an entirely incompatible architecture.
>You're not gonna buy either for serious pc gaming
It's a handheld, if you're doing serious gaming you'll be using your desktop. Difference between the Pyra and the Win is that the Pyra actually can handle some PC gaming, including modern titles.
*the Win actually can handle some PC gaming
>Yes because an intel atom is such a great processor for games anyway.
For what I want it, it does fine.
Also emulators that the Pyra can't even dream of.
>600€
>for the base model
>twice as much as the Win
>several times slower
It's a niche product too, but for a totally different audience. Nothing to replace the Win though.
>pyra
Holy shit, I'm in love. Any idea how much it will cost?
I'm not into gaming so I don't really care about the specs.
Holy shit what a fucking retard. First of all he claims the Atom is a ARM chip, second of all he's too stupid to figure out how to thumb type. That fat loser needs to stick to his Commodore.
Jesus Christ, retard's an understatement.
>fanboy used counterfeit
>it's not very effective
€
well, fuck
Never even heard of it before.
>Holy shit, I'm in love. Any idea how much it will cost?
630€
>I'm not into gaming so I don't really care about the specs.
It's mostly for gaming though, there are better alternatives for Linux micro computers/handhelds
Also it's not even out yet and they always fuck something up, so I wouldn't hold my breath
>2017
>Cherry Trail
lmfao
Well it is a device from 2016.
>there are better alternatives for Linux micro computers/handhelds
Could you give some examples? I'm new to this stuff.
Particularly, is there any device that looks close to pic related?
>Never even heard of it before.
do you even /gee/?
>device from 2016 is using the best x86-64 SoC for it's power/heat restrictions from 2015
I don't see the problem?
I've got one, it's pretty competent and, unlike a lot of chinese devices, the battery can actually be counted on to hold a charge. The thumb sticks + shoulder buttons also work very well for a mouse substitute when moving around.
Put retro pi on a raspberry pi 3 and you have yourself a pretty sweet 40 emulator
>630€
>ARM fucking processor
I actually agree, for what it's worth it's a good machine. Obviously not for everyone, but for someone like me who has waited for something like this for years, it's great.
too expensive imo
Isn't it only $300?
It's a total meme.
It's completely uncomfortable to play games on, it has bad battery life, it can barely run anything newer than 2006 and it's way too expensive for what you're getting.
I refunded mine within 2 weeks.
Comparing to what? A $200 dollar tablet with a $60 gamepad?
I don't think paying $40 more for convenience and some extras expensive.
Is this bait?
It's a shit device, I agree, but I know for a fact that the battery can easily hold 3 hours for heavier gaming and up to 7 for shitposting. I have played Skyrim and Mass Effect 3 on it, both never going under 30FPS and not even lowest graphics, also it's nowhere worse to hold then a 3DS, slightly even comfier because the stick positions and roundness.
I bought mine because a Windows machine is pretty much the only reliable way to dump content from cameras to a hard drive in the field. I previously used a 7" tablet but, because that thing had to use OTG, you had to use a mass of connectors to power the HDD that resembled an octopus orgy (and took up a lot of luggage space) and had to hope all your copying was done by the time the battery ran out. Also, because it charges over USB, you can use aUSB battery pack which is itself charged from a solar panel (beats the piss out of the sketchy as all hell ex-Soviet generator which puts out 220±100V).
It's also just powerful enough to squeeze out some preview clips compressed enough to send over the hideously expensive satellite internet connection.
Most new tablets have USB-C though and charge via it.
don't waste your money
While you're using OTG? Also, Microsoft basically killed 7" Windows tablets by disabling the desktop for screens below 8" (I assume a kludge is used for the GPD).
>While you're using OTG?
They usually have a separate USB port now.
>Also, Microsoft basically killed 7" Windows tablets by disabling the desktop for screens below 8" (I assume a kludge is used for the GPD).
What the fuck are you talking about? This is false.
You do know the GPD Win uses a tablet SoC and Windows also thinks it's a tablet?
I'd be really grateful if you could suggest a 7" Windows tablet with USB-C and a separate USB port. My searches have been fruitless.
nice digits
Got a better suggestion? $300 doesn't seem that much either.
It's a scam.
No?
