No voice calling

>userbase is extremely small thus the community sucks

Why does Sup Forums keep recommending this shit instead of Wire or Signal?

Why can't we just let XMPP die?

>why can't we just let the botnet win

just go back to Sup Forums honey

>he thinks this is the only non botnet chat

It's the first application to bring the double ratchet algo to a federated system like XMPP. Obviously, shit like voice/video calling(which shouldn't even be in a non-real time application like chatting) will take time.

Also, iOS users have Chatsecure which does everything Convo does, except OMEMO encrypted group chat and encrypted file transfer. (Kindly silly considering they announced that they were just rebranding Convo and releasing it as "Chatsecure")

>shit like voice/video calling(which shouldn't even be in a non-real time application like chatting

why not?

>>implying your important enough for any agency to monitor you

Im sure the government has better things to do than to watch you fapping to Japanese cartoons

>assuming the government has better things to do
That's where you're wrong, kiddo

Kek you believe the neckbeards on Sup Forums are high profile??

Just that real time applications such as calling require a completely different setup than non-real time applications like chatting/email. The latter will have to deal with holding and dissemination of data when the recipient is offline. The former does not.

Matrix is the real shit

IM is far far far closer to real time than email, dude.

I'd much rather talk to somebody than type.

>implying the government has anything better to do than spy on neckbeards and their pornographic search history.

Fantastic blackmail material to convince them to install gentoo for the govt.

That's how the ruskies do it.

>userbase is extremely small thus the community sucks

Same goes for Wire and Signal. XMPP probably has a bigger userbase than the other two. I hope you don't think XMPP and Conversations are the same thing.

>not encrypted by default
It supports Openkeychain (=PGP) out of the box, what more do you need? Don't start about "usability": if users don't verify their key signatures in Signal (and they fucking don't) it's worthless. Same problem there.

>XMPP probably has a bigger userbase than the other two

I really doubt XMPP has millions of users like the other two do.

XMPP is just a protocol. Its foundation is a decentralized network of servers. You can run your own XMPP server if you want to.
You don't seem to understand this, since you mentioned the "userbase" and the "outdated UI". The userbase of what? Your server? The UI of what? Your client?

Normies already use Whatsapp which implemented Signals encryption. Why would they switch to anything else?
If you're not a normie, why would you use something that is entirely dependent on a provider somewhere? If the owners of Signal, Wire or just fucking Google decides to shut it down, it's gone.

>no voice calling

>No video calling / chat
There's an unofficial patch for that. Stop being retarded.

>There's an unofficial patch for that

Where?

I don't see a contribution from you, faggot.

>begging for features

kek conversations sucks

>The userbase of what? Your server?

the protocol

>Why does Sup Forums keep recommending this shit instead of random uncertain-future opensource project #9000 or random uncertain-future opensource project #9001?

Everybody on Sup Forums should use Wire

last time it was
>everyone should use signal
and before that
>everyone should use tox

this is becoming much the same shit as linux distros
>use linux!
>move to our distro, we're better!
>no, move to ours, we improved it!
>no, our completely separate one is better!
>no, our hybrid is better!
>the original hybrid sucks, we made a better one!
>ching chong loonix wa fa dollaroo!
>ze german uberrace has made its own linoox distro!
>uso nipponsu linuxo disturo!
>we made a hybrid of all the above and improved it all!
ad nauseam

Signal is a no-go because of how immature the frontend is. It's phone-only like Whatsapp.

Wire is actually a full open source Skype replacement and uses double ratchet like OMEMO and Signal and they commit to monthly audits now.

What a shit client

Matrix is too buggy

you were rused
