Why aren't you using Windows 10 LTSB? -Can fully disable telementry -No feature updates that add annoying things, just stable -Gets security updates for a decade -No extra bloat (Xbox app, Cortana, Edge, Store, suite of apps, etc.)
If anyone is going to use Windows, it should be LTSB at least. They should have made windows for desktop all LTSB. Keep all the other annoying shit for laptops / mobile... It's not needed for workstation shit.
Liam Nelson
LTSB doesn't let you install bash from ubuntu.
LTSB is fake news
Luke Price
>> > (OP) >If anyone is going to use Windows, it should be LTSB at least. They should have made windows for desktop all LTSB. Keep all the other annoying shit for laptops / mobile... It's not needed for workstation shit.
or maybe have an option to completely remove it?
Eli Sullivan
I have it on my desktop and on my T420 along with Fedora. Aside from the UI being inconsistent, I don't mind it.
Gavin Sanders
I prefer Windows Server 2016 + The GUI + DirectX
Or as I've recently taken to calling it, WinServer/NT/DX
Jaxson Jenkins
I use Windows 10 LTSB. I can't say I miss any of the bloat. This is the version of Windows 10 that should be standard.
Logan Scott
LTSB Windows 10 is best Windows 10.
Andrew Johnson
gr8 b8 m8
Dylan Nelson
Yup, I have LTSB on my laptop. My other two computers are staying Win7 for the time being though. Maybe when I upgrade my desktop processor I'll switch that over to LTSB.
I ran Win10 Enterprise for awhile...even that is a clusterfuck. LTSB is literally the only decent version of Win10.
Landon Reyes
LTSB is the windows 7 of windows 10 Although I don't like the inconsistency (two control panels wtf, but services/group policy/reged are all old style), I do like the new start menu which you can just resize and group things easily.
and 10 (TEN) years of support without them adding ANY bloat >p-please don't use this perfect version, it's only for ATMs and medical equipment >p-please install cortana and the windows store
I agree, but if you trust Microsoft in terms of "10 years of support" you're a fool. They've already basically cut Win7 support early since they're not supporting any new hardware and actively cripple the OS if you try to install it on new chipsets.
Asher Hernandez
>actively cripple the OS if you try to install it on new chipsets. you're right on this, and they already confirmed they will be doing it to windows 10 too. What I mean is I can basically use this laptop until it breaks down without worry about OS expiring.
It's indeed an issue for companies, which of course would like to pick for example 2016 LTSB, then after 5 years buy new PCs and also install 2016 LTSB on that.
Installing windows 7 on current laptops is a bitch because the installer doesn't support USB3 so you either need to path it with the drivers, or copy the win7 install file into a win10 install USB
Austin Russell
Where does it says that you can permanently turn off telemetry? Citation needed.
Jason Wood
you need to do it yourself through group policy, regedit + delete some services.
Jason Thomas
Yep, IT at my company is pissed because we're still on Win7 and they can't get order any laptops newer than Skylake. We're moving to Win10 LTSB this year though (and I anticipate that to be a complete and utter shitshow of massive proportions).
Jayden Johnson
Will those settings stick or will a future update reset the settings?
Nolan Robinson
windows 10 LTSB is basically windows 7 with a different start menu + a second control panel for tablets called settings (the old one is also there).
LTSB is actually good, as evidenced by microsoft going out of their way in multiple press releases to tell people not to use it at all. They even backpaddeled on it being for companies wanting more stability, now saying "it's only for devices on absolute lockdown like atms, medical equipment etc"
what it really is is just windows 10 without any of the bloat. no store, no cortana, no xbox, no edge, no native calendar or mail apps. It doesn't even come with windows media player or image viewer.
Nathan Torres
I said shitshow because anytime you roll out a new OS that requires reimaging 200 people's machines it's going to be a shitshow, not because of LTSB specifically.
Grayson Sanders
people reported that anniversary/creators update resetted these settings for them, but that doesn't matter because LTSB doesn't get these kind of """""""feature""""""""" updates. It only gets security updates which doesn't affect this.
I've gotten several updates since my LTSB 2016 install and nothing changed
Gavin Powell
Creator update give performance boast in game, do LTSB got that
Austin Diaz
>Creator update give performance boast in game >real world tests show ~1% difference
Brandon Martin
>Creator update give performance boast in game they made that up literally out of thin air
and no LTSB doesn't get these kind of updates, but you would get this version of win10 if you install a LTSB build which is newer than this update
Isaac Thompson
waiting for better support for my new hardware on ltsb once that is reached I will go
Connor Garcia
What's a good tool to disable botnet features on LTSB? A lot of spying features are enabled by default even on LTSB installs.
Lucas Hill
group policy editor, services, msconfig, task scheduler and regedit you ignorant normalfag
Gabriel Edwards
don't use any third party tool just do it yourself, it takes like 30 minutes. There are several comprehensive reddit posts about this topic. Just google "win10 disable botnet / logging / telemetry"
Austin Scott
>shit os >bad interface >little to non customization
>app didn't start in the required time >check your time settings
>have to install drivers >PAID >ugly I can do this all day
Blake Adams
>shit community >no customer support >force updates >have to install AV should I continue?

Luis Anderson
you should get your autism checked instead
Justin Lopez
yes it does retard
Jordan Hernandez
It doesn't have the features I want most importantly linux subsystem inside.
+ It's literally the same with normal version - equal amount of spying in both.
Just took the normal enterprise version - followed official Microsoft guide to stop communication with Microsoft for the enterprise version - then closed all the services and blocked as much shit I could - sure it will still phone home but not as much as it did, and If Microsoft told corporations they can shut down communication with Microsoft if they follow the steps - in case they lied they could just get sued or something and that didn't happen yet, even pentagon uses windows 10 with group policies to shut it down and other tweaks suggested officially by Microsoft.
Easton Lee
But I am.
Ryder Hall
>-Can fully disable telementry stopped reading right there
Hunter Carter
I use win10 ltsb since release but >Can fully disable telementry fucking lmao brul
No, setting the slider to disabled doesn't automatically mean it IS disabled. Welcome to Windows, Touko always knows what you're fapping to.
Connor Baker
just got my 2016 LTSB key for dual boot. 10 years of not getting bothered by microcucks is totally worth the 15€.
Jackson Bennett
can I install it using my pro license? I don't want to pirate windows 10 if I have a legit OEM copy, desu
John Collins
what's the latest version of ltsb available online? i have this >en_windows_10_enterprise_2016_ltsb_x64_dvd_9059483.iso
Mason Ward
nope, microsoft doesn't want you to have unbloated Win10. if you're in the EU you can get a cheap second-hand key.
Jace Flores
...
Lincoln Williams
I use Linux and have no reason to use any Microsoft products.
Adrian Carter
Kaby lake mobile i3. I have a laptop with a i5 7200U. All of the i3/5/7U are the same, 2 cores, 4 threads only difference is clock speed.
Lincoln Lopez
>Why aren't you using Windows 10 LTSB?
Because I'm not a stupid fucking person, son.
>stupid fucking people will be the death of us all
Tyler Cooper
, I have OSX, W7 and Arch.
I will never upgrade for this garbage
Juan Smith
Because it's a piece of trash, just like the consumer version.
>-Can fully disable telementry You can't
>-No extra bloat You still hae crap like Xbox/Game screen crap and two control panels
Daniel Sullivan
>Can't even attach a screenshot correctly the first time. Windows users.
Leo Ward
Wtf laptop is it
David Gomez
Can Windows 10 LTSB 2016 be updated to Creators Update?
Alexander Robinson
No, there won't be any new LTSB until 2018, in line with Server 2016R2
Juan Ward
It can be disabled via LGP
Christian Lee
It would be nice to be using Windows 10 LTSB but I cannot get a copy of it or a license.
I have a powerful PC and I have no problem with the botnet as I have nothing to hide.
I still disable most of the crap that comes with Windows 10 Pro .
Angel Foster
How do I pirate it? Any equivalent of Loader by Daz for Windows 10?
Adam Wood
Because I have nothing to hide, commie.
Adam Lopez
I wonder how does Stallman browses the internet at all these days.
Jordan Walker
I remember installing windows 7 with daz loader on all of my systems a year ago then upgrading to 10 and now I can clean install win10 on the same systems over and over again and they would be activated the second after I connect them to the (bot)net.
Jacob Kelly
you can install the free evaluation version if you don't mind it nagging after 90 days.
Oliver Miller
> I can do this all day
what, shitpost? I bet you can, you sound NEET as fuck
>these kind of retards are allowed to browse Sup Forums nowadays
Dylan Hernandez
>Minecraft
Jackson Wood
What's in the .zip m'lady? Is this for downloading ISOs? I still need to activate them though. Thanks for help!
Oliver Wood
>Still running on 2015 LTSB Has the 2016 version advantages?
William Ward
Exist a creators update LTSB?
Luke Martin
Microsoft Toolkit, it's for activation.
See
Connor Rodriguez
> You still hae crap like Xbox/Game screen crap In LTSB? No, only in Enterprise.
Liam Kelly
>pre-installed adware >spy features >can't customize anything except the desktop wallpaper >installs updates without my permission and make ends up getting fucked up
Anthony Taylor
Yes, open a game and press Win + G
Samuel Lopez
>Can fully disable telementry >or maybe have an option to completely remove it? How about not have it included altogether?
David Wood
>10 years of not getting bothered by microcucks and you trust them to do that? They've just shafted Win 7/8 users - most of whom paid a LOT more than €15. Keep livin' the dream son!
Ethan Clark
i don't know... why am i not using windows 10...
Justin Jones
Because I'm a bad person. -I don't want to become part of the Microsucks botnet -I like to think for myself and use what I consider appropriate. Rather than be a bovine and fall for the 'it's the latest so it must be better' meme
Ethan Allen
>these kind of retards are allowed to browse Sup Forums nowadays
Ayyyy
The dazloader upgrade method literally gives you legit windows with no need to use 3rd party kms emulators. I don't see the point in denying that LTSB is not as much as a botnet as the other SKU's and the bloat can be removed with powershell scripts.
Cooper Sanchez
At least LTSB has less bloatware.
Juan Morgan
because
Colton Rodriguez
>first install bugged out due to an update >current install : everything is fucking slow and glitchy even though its fresh
Honestly don't bother just install Linux
David Scott
timesink os
Anthony Clark
w-what is happening?
Justin Wright
What advantages does this have over using the debloating tool?
Gabriel Evans
Same base till 2026, no need to reinstall the OS every 6 months due to so-called "feaure upgrades".
Connor Gray
No it fucking can't. The "level 0" option makes it quite clear in the supporting text that it still sends data to Microsoft.
LGBT is a meme purported by the dumbest fucks on this board. It's literally just a crippled version of Enterprise, and offers no privacy benefits whatsoever.
>B-b-b-b-b-b-but they removed Cortana!!! No they didn't, you stupid fuck. They just removed the front end. The underlying botnet is still right there, just called SearchUI.exe instead.
Hunter Ross
>no 1703 into the trash
Nicholas Price
LTSB is mpore than a crippled Enterprise. Using something like MSMG Toolkit on Enterprise CBB will result in a crippled Enterprise, but not LTSB. It's not that much better in terms of privac, but it's a lot better than any CBB build.
David Cox
>1703 What's so special about it? It ads nothing of value, besides address bar in regedit.
Bentley Baker
thank god, in fact the best windows 10 is vanilla ltsb with just security updates imo
Andrew Scott
Still has """""minimal""""" botnet shit.
Elijah Perry
Well, regardless of what they release, each LTSB has 10 years of support. 1507: 2015-2025 1607: 2016-2026, same as Server2016
Samuel Peterson
What is the point if I'm not an underage gametard, Pajeet? I could use GNU/Linux and get insane performance for my hardware, as well as not having CIA rootkits installed directly into the operating system. It would also take less time to set up than Windows and be more conducive to my workflow. Why SHOULD I be using it?
Juan Lopez
because I'm using MacOS
Leo Torres
My negro
Jacob Cooper
Because OEMs don't include it with new machines, I don't want to pay for it, and if I pirate it, it will probably have spyware far worse than Microsoft's.
Ryan Long
My familia :3
Windows Server 2016 Master Race! Windows 10 is a shit system for cucks!
Lincoln Williams
Less than 5 minutes >timesink
Lucas Scott
Tell me how cause,I don't get that update.
Ryan Taylor
>-Can fully disable telementry No you can.
Besides it's still the same buggy shit. I am running Enterprise LTSB and shit keeps crashing almost every week. Never had that problem with 7 or Ubuntu.
Yes it does, faggot.
Nicholas Cook
I am.
I used normal W10 at work and holy balls it SUCKS.
Ryan Lopez
Is Windows Server 2016 a Botnet as Windows 10? If yes, how do I disable it?
Jace Foster
It's certainly not botnetfree, but it comes without all this bloated shit and you can tune down telemetry to security and set updates to manual over sconfig. Over all imo Server 2016 is what Windows 10 should have been, if it was pro-sumer.
