I have one of these flash drives, and as I've done multiple times before, I used a program called "EaseUS Partition Master" to delete its partition (so it's all unallocated space) and create a new one to replace it.
Deleting the old partition went flawlessly, and when I created a new one it went to 100% but instead of telling me it finished, it told me that there was an error in writing system information or something like that.
It worked flawlessly up to that point, but since then, the drive is visible to the computer, but it's like it has no partition or unallocated space. It's like a flash drive with no storage space at all, and I can't do anything.
EaseUS Partition Master doesn't even see it now, and the Disk Management utility just says "No Media".
When I right-click on the device in "Computer" and select "Format" nothing happens.
Format using Linux and Gparted, but it seems your drive is dead, it ran out of write cycles

But it worked perfectly up until now, and I don't know if this proves anything but I've ran an error scan with HD Tune Pro less than an hour before repartitioning, and it showed zero problems.
Could it be that something happened during the partition creation and it got corrupted somehow?

Do some looking into testdisk. It's a wonderful tool that can be somewhat advanced, but you know that if testdisk fails, the disk is gone.

The drive was completely empty when I started working on it.
I wanted to repartition it because it showed about 20% of its space was filled with something, and I wanted to delete the partition to make sure it didn't have wasted space on it. In hindsight, I should've kept the old one.

use diskpart, just open up an admin command prompt and type diskpart
type "list disk" find which disk you want to use type "select disk X" type "clean" type "create partition primary" type "select partition 1" type "format fs=ntfs label="whatever"" type "assign" to assign a drive letter type "exit"

what brand of usb device is it? if it's a sandisk try to find the old u3 software. i don't think sandisk host it anymore but it's worth a try.
also, i dunno if this will work but some guy apparently recovere from this error by going into device manager and uninstalling the usb device while it was still plugged in. after that unplug it and plug it back in and windows might ask to repair it.

My time is completely worthless and I literally can't afford to buy another one, so if I can't fix this it means I won't have a flash drive for a long time, which is a major bummer because I use it every single day and I rely on it for many things.
I'd rather try everything I can than just give up and accept that it's broken.

I always use it for everything (since the Windows one doesn't have all the features I need) so I'm used to do such things with it. Before today it never gave me any problem whatsoever, so I had no reason to doubt it.

The seagate drive is just the disk in the laptop (still workink fine), not the broken flash drive (a SanDisk like in the OP picture).

It's not true, they can be partitioned like anything else. They just only last for so many writes before going haywire.

You can definitely partition them, although Windows hides the option. You can still do it and read/write to each in Android/Linux
