Still the same until today.

>Why downgrade to a 980?
I had severe coil whine on my R9 290X and I wanted CUDA again for media creation, plus I made around $250 cash in "down-grading" to the GTX 980.
>And downgrade a 4 GB Classified to a 2 GB card?
Yeah that was kinda dumb of me but I was forced to. The GTX 680 CLASSIFIED was physically too big for my NCASE M1. Though again, I did make around $200 for the downgrade. Bought the CLASSIFIED for $400, got the MSI for $200.
Im switching from amd to Intel because of ryzen launch. Cost of a ryzen 7 system = cost of an i7 system
8 to 4 GB is a downgrade. But it seems you profited from it.

Was sad to see the R9 290X go because I got it for a bargain. It was a reviewer's test sample, used it for a couple of days then sold off for other GPUs to review. I also really got lucky with the GTX 980 too. Seller was desperate for money so offered him cold hard cash for decent discount.
