> 8 years of Android development experience
Are they looking for the founders of Android or just trying to steal Google employees with those live-in-your-car wages?
The requirements are reasonable, except for the 8+ year experience in building iOS and Android apps. They need a reminder for how long those have been around. And "working fluently" with SOAP. You can't work fluently with SOAP.
>8+ years Android experience
>30 years experience with Windows 98
I've been making android apps for eight years seems like quite a sad thing to say.
How much bank you make? Or are you one of those cucks that makes apps for other people?
>covertly asking for a fullstack dev for 60k
>reasonable
Are you retarded? The minimum should be 90-110k
> Or are you one of those cucks that makes apps for other people?
That's not very nice user.
Did you have that original developer phone that Google had with the screen that flipped up to reveal a hardware keyboard, but the side stayed where it was?
We don't know where they're located.
Bad user. 60k is slave driver tier and a slap in the face.
You don't get it. With these retarded requirements they can reject everyone and legally import Pajeets instead.
If you're in the US and you accept that job for 60k you're the pajeet ruining the industry
They're actually asking for a fullstack dev, who will also be working on what appears to be some seriously legacy shit, as well as some newer shit they will have no control over, who also happens to be one of the most experienced mobile developers in the world. Also, the "fast-paced environment; very team oriented" means, "you'll have no team members who know what it is you do, everybody else will be 'more senior' than you and will be your boss".
This is a shit job and I don't know anybody who fits the qualifications who would be willing to take it.
I wouldn't accept it myself, but I know for fact that many Midwestern devs would.
That's what's ruining the industry.
Cucks going around and accepting low tier pay.
I heard companies do these so they can have a reason to import pajeets on H1-B visas.
They just go like "see, it's been three months and we have zero applications can we bring rajeesh over now?"
name and shame that fucking company for exploiting H1B1 Visa immigrant program
they quote a very low price because it is unsustainable for an american but pajeets will swarm to that job in no time because 60k is a lot of money for them
Wouldn't doubt it really.
>becoming the pajeet
>we sure showed those pajeets by retaking our jobs!
I hope you're not friends with those people
>I heard companies do these so they can have a reason to import pajeets on H1-B visas.
Pretty much, $60k is the minimum H1B wage.
This. For a company to do H1B Indian slave importing, you have to "prove" that you cannot find domestic workers.
Basically the companies will post ridiculous insane job postings and reject anyone, then they can say "we made X numbers of postings but cannot find anyone, therefore we need indian workers".
It's named in the description you goonie
"Crossover" A quick google will show their postings.
> Programming in iOS since the 3G (Not the 3GS, the 3G)
> Android since 1.5 "Cupcake"
> coding this long
> don't already have 100k+ job
> not already retired
Idiots.
Well i mean it is p. easy to live comfy in the midwest under that pay but... no... 60k+ for that shit... nah
Also sounds like buzzword driven development so double nah
the picture says Crossover you illiterate mongoloid....
>"Crossover" A quick google will show their postings.
Looks like they already have 7 H1Bs and are now going for #8
myvisajobs.com
That's fucking disgusting.
There really ought to be some sort of punishment system for companies exploiting the visa system like that. That listing is so painfully obvious, it's practically like the Car Wash in Breaking Bad where the wife rings out a bunch of bogus transactions but the place is empty all day.
They have some pretty shit paying jobs
>7
Look up Verizon my man
I used to work at a IT startup which was bankrolled by In-Q-Tel. I've seen emails from the VP of HR explicitly instructing the drones to find ways to discriminate against American candidates for software development roles so they can get H1Bs. How does it feel to know that your tax dollars are supporting this?
If you are a respected programmer who can get most programming jobs easily you should schedule and interview with them just to tell them to go fuck themselves.
>If you are a respected programmer who can get most programming jobs easily you should schedule and interview with them just to tell them to go fuck themselves.
Or just bother to send a fake resume.
But how do they even find a pajeet with all those qualifications?
The pajeet lies on his resume. If an American does the same, they bother to actually check employment history to verify his claims.
> 20k
I would rather kill myself
No no. That's not how it works. There are basically huge pajeet farms that help pajeets from India get into roles by creating bogus resumes, recreating fake people for references, and sometimes even taking phone interviews or video chat interviews for the them. They get a cut from the salary of every pajeet they get into the system.
Where do you think this whole consultant meme started from in the first place? Pajeet farms. Often they're run by more enterprising pajeets who usually have some permanent residency in the US.
iOS developer here, this is a fucking scam
> ARC is not complex at all, it's basic shit you learn on the first hello world book
> It's Xcode, not xCode
> 8+ years on high traffic/enterprise apps would make you rich already, why even bother to get a 60k shitty job?
> Who wouldn't have "good understanding" on OO after developing for ios and android for 8+ years?
holy fuck, I fucking hate this new enterprise era.
Time to ban H1Bs and form unions to get that sweet lobbying power.
this nigga knows what's up
I heard trump made some reporting systems for h1b abuse, not sure though. Hopefully he abolishes it entirely and sends all the fuckers back.
I have all of those minus the 8 years exp n if I did i sure as hell wouldnt be applying for tht shtth job
Hmm, 60k just happens to also be the H1B salary cutoff.
>government, government, we couldn't find a full stack dev w/8 years experience for 60k!
>aww don't worry wittle babby, we'll get you those H1Bs you need
HR was a mistake
>send them all back
>the industry actually collapses because these stupid fucks spent all their time and money basically mentoring and training pajeets from scratch because you know pajeets can't code for shit so their leads had to babysit them until they could
>Pajeets flood india with their new skills and prop up their economy and all the memes about india being a superpower by 2030 actually come true
>they launch a rocket into space
>meanwhile America has millions of uninitiated new programmers with little to no experience and the young ones who do have experience have some form of autism induced or encouraged by FOSS
America's going to go down the toilet pretty quick. These companies sold out America's young for a quick buck. There's no way they can believe that an Indian, however educated he is in his homeland, could possibly have actual experience when American kids of a similar age and career status don't. If you're a jr to mid level guy now's a good time to start learning something else. I'm thinking about taking up woodworking and carpentry since I have some money saved for tools. Maybe I'll sell repainted and polished driftwood antiques to middle-class liberals who think they're rich when all they're doing is flushing their retirement down the drain.
>industry collapses
>implying this is a bad thing
Just the result of the diversity agenda in technology aimed at crashing wages
I'm just saying, be ready for it. Probably a good idea to have a backup plan.
Personally I'm doing pure math and computer science together, to separate myself from the code monkeys and poos, math is more fun anyway
what should we do user?
l
This retards the 8 years is a big red flag. They want a pajeet to work for half of the cost (or less if they can get away with it).
The H1B program is fucking cancer.
2009 was 8 years ago, Android Development was already in full swing at the time
Why the fuck does any Dev need 8 years of android experience for a job?
> Ability to handle multiple projects at once while meeting aggresive production deadlines,
We're gonna grind you harder than investment banking, cuck and only pay you 60k.
making exploits
H1b for programmers is over, not allowed under new trump rules
2013 was 18 years ago...
This salary isn't even acceptable in Mexico, it might be acceptable for a pajeet in India who wouldn't actually be able to do anything listed there
>b..b.. but if we're nice to company, they'll act nice en employ more americans
ITT ; ppl realizing the problem with immigration is actually capitalism.
But the pajeets have no skills....they lack the ability to solve problems on their own unless it has a cookie cutter solution
Apple brings in from 1500-2000 immigrants each year.
Microsoft is about 4-5000 each year
Google is another ~4000 a year.
Facebook is about 1200.
Literally bringing in 12,000 pajeets a year between them. We are being INVADED.
Imagine if those jobs went to actual americans?
There is no way we have a shortage of people who can do these jobs. It's all an attempt to bring down the pay of developers. Same reason they push for women and minorities. The more workers they import to convince into the field the lower the salaries go.
Maybe I should change major to a more pure science or math
These fucking yanks
>60k is not enough
>That's 5k a month
>Not enough
Genuinely what do you even spend your money on?
I'm not even memeing
repaying debt
If it's silicon valley...
Rent, gas
and you probably can't afford anything else
You definitely should. I wish I had have done this when I had the chance.
You can learn programming on the side for the very reason you are talking about. There are thousands of resources to learn how to code now because companies want more people to lower wages.
If you do pure science or maths, you have skills in other areas and you can use programming as a tool. If you can not only do the theory but also implement solutions, you become incredibly valuable.
Programming is simply the tool to implement other things. If you don't know how to do the other things, then you're fucked especially in the future. I would definitely, if you are still able to, major in maths or science and then minor in compsci or software dev.
>8+ years in something that's barely 9 years old
But not quite since
>8+ years in something that's a high level application of something 9 years old of which only started 5 years ago
pay student debts
thats the circle of american life
>what is tax
>what is insurance
>what is rent
>what are bills
Come on man. 60k after tax is less than 4k per month take home pay. Then you have 2k rent per month. You're already down to 2k per month for EVERYTHING else.
5k a month is a garage in silicon valley.
>Developers
>Experienced in use of soap
BWHAHAHAHAHAHAH
k is not enough
Say an average apartment is $2000 per month, then account for federal and state taxes. Do the math.
No.
The industry is whats ruining the industry today.
We have frameworks for everything. There's no thought to be put in in half of this shit anymore. You can pump retards through boot camps and teach them to use Java libraries and how to Google shit, pay em 50k a year, and they'll be happy.
Hell, the majority of CS students graduating are fucking retarded.
>60k
They can suck my dick for 60k.
> and the young ones who do have experience have some form of autism induced or encouraged by FOSS
I don't see the problem there.
>choosing to live in silicon valley when programming can be done from LITERALLY anywhere
keksicus maximus
next you're going to tell me that group projects require you to be in the same room when hd teleconferencing has been around for ages.
Depends where you live, in the UK that's pretty good but that's to do with cost of living which, aside from London, is significantly lower across the major tech areas
Remote working and teleconferencing is significantly less efficient in most cases.
Speak for yourself, faggot.
t. Rajesh working from home in a comfy southern town
Most remote workers lack the self discipline to do actual work from home and it makes collaboration difficult. On the other hand it's easy if you're a Java monkey or a pajeet that just gets sent features and made to implement them using a mixture of SO & an O'Reilly book. Not a good career move if you care about a fast rising career like I did.
Android 1.0 was released in September 2008
wew
I think the recruiter means Java anyway, that's the usual for android job specs as Java has existed a lot longer and so getting managers (the only people who should need 8 years, I was a lead after 4 years and delivery manager at 6) is a lot easier/possible if you say Java over Android.
>still in school
That's cute timmy, but run along now, grown men are talking here.
What's an enterprise level iOS app supposed to be?
Don't tell me people now install ERPs and similar on fucking iPads
Not to mention "OO programming"
@60210835
>t. baiting tripfag
60k is homeless-tier income if you live in san francisco or any other major US city, aka where these fucking jobs are
> ARC is not complex at all, it's basic shit you learn on the first hello world book
They are asking for non-ARC knowledge though you stupid fuck
they're either not gonna get any bites, or they're trying for H1B1, which for the record is a pretty dumb thing to try for because the chance of your company winning a visa thru the lotto is not very good.
here in Costa Rica not even most doctors make 60k a year.
Then again, most families here live with around 1k USD a month
if you are just starting out of college, and not in a major urban center (jobs exist outside of big cities like SF, Austin, NYC, etc, you know), 60K is actually pretty ok. FOR STARTING.
A dev w/ 8 years experience needs to be approaching double that at least.
VIVE CARTAGO
SAN JOSE MRD
I took a vacation to Costa Rica with my family and our tour guide was talking about that, he said the job market is absolute shit there because everyone goes to school for degrees but there are no jobs. He said there are tons of people with medical degrees and law degrees but they work fast food or something because the job market is literally just shit. Our guide actually had a doctorate degree in biology and he was reduced to being a tour guide because there are no jobs.
>non-ARC knowledge
what?
i dont get it, this seems like a 60k job a year to me....someone redpill me
damn google
it depends on location, but this looks US based, and if you're making 60k over 8 years into your career in the US, you're getting fucked.
Here is the red pill: The dumb ass undergrads on Sup Forums, (99.9% of of the board) have no idea what real life is like. They also un-ironically think they are educated.
