FIRST for what's the best headless torrent program for linux
Sebastian Powell
Transmission daemon or rtorrent
Bentley Watson
Last thread OP.
Lincoln Rogers
>rtorrent
is there a remote frontend for it? I like to add shit on the go
Dominic Moore
look into rutorrent
Luke Cruz
How do I into web hosting?
Thomas Kelly
An user made a nyaa client based on the sql database #p60208658
Easton Sanders
Deluge is easy to set up and downloads crazy fast. If you want to add hundreds of torrents at once you will be better off with rtorrent.
Luis Adams
Obviously he got that from nyaa pantsu. It resolves for me, he only has to remove that %0a.
Adrian Gonzalez
sorry forgot to say I'm replacing deluge
it crashed on me and deleted all my torrents
a shame since I used YaRSS2 and scheduler, so comfy
Cooper Moore
is this like some weeaboo torrenting site for torrenting hentai manga
Gabriel Butler
yeah, rtorrent is your only real choice then
Eli Hernandez
I see all these other torrent clients mentioned but no one talks about qbittorrent, why is that?
Ethan Green
because of the stalled meme there's always a thread for shitposting about it at least once a day
Isaiah Wilson
n-n-NO qStalledMeme
Chase Turner
I didn't think the stalled meme was real until it happened to me on windows
Brayden Garcia
>windows you deserved it
Angel James
>using windows
Noah Ward
I dual boot with debian
Jaxon Ortiz
Is there no way of seeing how many seeders/leechers torrent has without adding it to my client?
Lucas Foster
It would be very interesting to see some numbers on how much content is going to be downloaded in the near future. I think that people are going to increasingly hoard the shit out of anime from now on.
Brayden Young
>I think that people are going to increasingly hoard the shit out of 2D porn from now on. fixed
Elijah Turner
Right, DHT is not properly tracked.
This was normal even when nyaa was up.. having "undef" or 0/0 on the listing, then loading it up and finding 5 seeds.
Adrian Young
Thats what trackers are useful for
Jace Baker
DHT shouldn't be visible straight away to begin with
Mason Ward
I think the magnet links are fixed.
Cameron Butler
So can anyone explain what are the different colors for?
Evan Evans
Isn't the stalling only for like a second at the start of the torrent?
Luke Ramirez
red: remake green: trusted blue: best reviewed release
all according to nyaa's rules
Kevin White
>I think the magnet links are fixed.
work for me
Jose Sanchez
Oh yeah and pagination is also fixed. Forgot to purge the cache.
Thomas Scott
Blue entries:
-Torrents marked as A+ quality are blue in the torrent lists. -These are exclusive torrents picked by us. -They represent the best available version of this content. -There will be no duplicates. -Only versions that we actually consider worthy of a seal of approval will be listed.
Green entries: Torrents uploaded by trusted users are green in the torrent lists.
Orange entries: Torrents must be marked as remakes if any of the following applies to the release:
-Reencode of original release. - Remux of another uploader's original release for hardsubbing and/or fixing purposes. -Reupload of original release using non-original file names. -Reupload of original release with missing and/or unrelated additional files.
Luke Watson
Green = trusted author/group Blue = A+ (best encode) Red = re-encode/remake that's shittier/doesn't add anything
Dominic James
And for any other status that isn't detected properly, like when it's searching for DHT peers it still says stalled.
Christopher Brown
ty, I've never saw a blue torrent, only green and red.
Robert Gonzalez
When did the stall problem start? Is it just a UI display bug?
Caleb Clark
I love how they never actually followed their own rules.
I had unmarked torrents that were better than blue encodes.
There was a user named Catar (CTR) that re-muxed the releases of others and was never once labeled orange.
Jaxson Reyes
Wow, a whole user uploading torrents and the mods didn't catch it? How lax. Maybe Nyaa should've had a verification process where a torrent is not visible before mods vet through it.
Nathan Edwards
How large is the backup? What format? Just JSON?
Hudson Bell
The mods knew about this guy.. and he was doing god's work honestly.
Always assumed they give the blues to the groups they trust the most, downloading every encoding to check would be really tiresome.
Jordan Nelson
Do you need some sleep yet m8? Been doing gods work today.
Carson Butler
He's a 2nd year comp sci student, the last thing that bunch needs is sleep.
Justin Anderson
I slept like 10 hours ago.
if anyone wants to convert and merge dbs for me I could have the site up to date whenever you finish. this Also need to actually do some uni work at some point.
Gavin Bennett
Proposal: We should use the opportunity and make the next site based on WebTorrents. Clear advantages: No torrent client needed, easier access and live streaming (caters to the streamfags). You may look into instant.io.
I did briefly consider adding web torrent support.
Luis Hill
Don't.
Streaming is cancer
Jackson Robinson
>and live streaming (caters to the streamfags).
good luck streaming my 70 Mbps Blu-Ray rip of outlawstar
Julian Johnson
Exactly I won't.
Nolan Parker
His releases suck dick cause he never includes the chapters from the releases he muxes. Also he puts dubs as default which is annoying as fuck, not too mention his releases seem to always come just a tad short from one other release that's just slightly better with actual chapters and without shitty dub bloat.
Blake Diaz
>Grab the April 5th database and fork. I would rather join forces and not build a competing site.
>Streaming is cancer You know, you are still downloading the file, without quality loss.
Christopher Gomez
>without quality loss
Jackson Young
Maybe if you watch sub30mbps garbage
Nicholas Moore
>You know, you are still downloading the file, without quality loss. First off, there is quality loss, second, without uploading while you're at it. Why would you want to pander to shitty streamfags that only use and never give back?
Nathan Sullivan
rtorrent my dude
That with rutorrent running as a frontend is basically as good as it gets
Ryan Parker
>without quality loss
Ethan Cook
>I would rather join forces and not build a competing site. You're doing it wrong. Now is the time to hydra, not fucking centralize.
Noah Thompson
Well the site is FOSS for a reason. If you want to add anything feel free to add it and make a pr. You could even make a userscript or something for nyaa clones. It's also gonna have restful api support so it'll be easier if you do it.
Justin Long
>I would rather join forces and not build a competing site. Why not? Monopoly is what brought us to this. The more competition, the healthier the market!
Nathan Lewis
So we build one repo and run db replication over multple endpoints, no?
Evan Ortiz
You have no idea how BitTorrent works.
Where is the code?
Brody Smith
> rather join forces and not build a competing site. Aaaand we learned fucking nothing from nyaa's fall. Congrats!
James Baker
read the OP m8. That's the plan. Still not sure how to go about federated or a decentralized db.
Blake Fisher
If there are competing sites, then in the case that one gets (((shut down))), we still have another to use
Angel Barnes
They have translators, editors etc looking at the releases of each group and decide which one is the "best" (their friends or their own group mostly)
Protip: you need to know English to post it on this site.
Bentley Sanders
Yeah go in USA or UK, land of the "free" internet.
Anthony Perry
So where would you host it? South america? Asia? Africa? :^)
Parker Campbell
Japan or Norway
Isaac Roberts
Mirrors are useless if the main site is kill
Austin Lee
>2017-05-01 >descriptions rip any competition.
Cooper Gomez
Isn't hosting in japan expensive as fuck? Does Norway even have decent hosting providers?
Easton Jackson
Damn, now I feel bad for the pantsu developer
Adrian Myers
It's also up, which is not something Pantsu can claim.
Aaron Perez
It doesn't matter how good it looks if the guy doesn't release the source. It's fine to have a single centralized website - it may even be better. The most important thing is having it open sourced so if it gets taken down someone can just clone git and nothing is lost.
Isaac King
No unicode support.
"[????] ?????? 04 ?? MP4 720p"
TOP KEK
Cooper Watson
Somebody scrape this shit.
Elijah Young
>someone made a better ver nyaarchive.moe/ kek Is It just me or it turned kanji into ???
Leo Morgan
>No unicode support. You're retarded.
Hudson Powell
R18 has kanji support
Isaiah Morgan
eh I mean already plenty of alternatives already did exist. I'm mainly doing this for fun and to help decentralize nyaa. I also know that the guy made that site in php which I really wanted to avoid. RSS feeds are being worked on and searching is being improved and the ui is also getting worked on.
