Mine, around 2007

Same station
The PC was originally bought in 2001 or 2002
Upgraded to 512 and 768 MB RAM later
also a Radeon X1650 Pro

>me
You people and your mental health issues are always good for a laugh.

good times

>Mental health issues
What are you talking about?
I might have been already 12 then

>2003

Ancient times... around 2000

Is this historical? Should be 7 years old
I haven't upgraded this 2007 Vista HP Pavilion until late 2012
Can you imagine how slow Vista gets when you run it on 2 GB DDR2?

...

...

>Vista running slow on 2GB DDR2
7 64-bit does the same thing with 2GB DDR3. You need at least 4GB for the OSes to run smooth.

8.1 runs better on a 2 GB tablet.

ReadyBoost helped me a lot but installing another 2 GB of RAM halfed the bootup time when I installed them in 2012.

back in 2013/2014 at my parents place.

...

I don't have any battlestation pics, but I have a screencap of my desktop from some time after Christmas '04

This is my setup from 2006.

Still using the same computer case, speakers, and mousemat.

forgot pic

FUCK DUDE A SPIDER SHIT NIGGA

Is he kill yet?

...

Why do the old battlestations with beige boxes and fat CRTs tend to be much comfier than the present day ones that seem to be cold and impersonal for the most part?

That's why XP still rules. It runs as well with just a quarter of the memory that Vista or 7 needs.

>Being a baby in 2000
We need to raise the minimum age on Sup Forums to 30.

It only requires at least a 233MHz Pentium, 64 MB of RAM and over 1GB of drive space. Modern Windows OSes require 15GB of drive space or more.

God I never stand the fact old crts had the fucking distorted images because of the curvature of the tube. Besides that, response time was excellent.

For some things crts are still superior but I can't have a tube with high resolution so no way

Minimalist bullshit
I miss when you could find a decent power supply uncolored and with proper cable color coding

>distorted images
Adjust the settings?

>boogie2988
Jesus fucking christ how old is that guy? he has to be in his late 30s now but looks like an overgrown babby/barely 16

is the cat still alive? how's he doing these days?

Mine, circa 2004.

Here's mine before everything on the internet turned to shit

I was round six years old back then.

I'm 23, I've been using Sup Forums since the age of 13. I still sometimes feel a bit insecure about my age here.

You should as well.

My median ran vista on 2 GB ddr2 just fine, never really went slow on me.
Then again all my high school ass used it for was internet browsing, facebook, anime, youtube, microsoft office and some older fps's.

...

why are their shit-stains around your mouth

>can of whipped cream next to monitor
Gee, I don't get why he's fat.

Not really. I sometimes feel old when I see that 2000 kids are almost turning 18 now.

I discovered Sup Forums when I was 14, but didn't regularly browse until late 2013. I took long breaks. Sup Forums has turned into shit. I'm mainly here for the German threads (Fäden) but they also turned into shit after 2016.

Nice monitor, m80

Genetics

He's still a pretty cool guy.

Sad sad times

Pic was taken ~5 mins after eating an entire box of fruit roll ups

You do realize that you can adjust geometry on a CRT monitor? If both tube and electronics is decent, you should be able to adjust it so that noone but you will notice any distortions. It's a bit of a pain in the ass to do (especially for the bigger tubes which have separate pincusion controls for corners, and not without a reason) especially that you need to do it for every display mode (i.e. combination of resolution and refresh rate) you intend to use, but once it's done, it's done.

your dad looks like he molested you. sorry.

XP was feature-restricted if not running with at least 128 MB or RAM. Vista/7 need 512 MB, so it's 1/4. As for disk space, a fresh install of XP is as small as you pointed out, but as you install updates, .NET frameworks, etc. the size of the OS grows very significantly. Also, the more programs you install, the more space is taken by the %windir%\Instaler directory which stores all the .msi files associated with a given program's installer. Not to mention, program configuration in "documents and settings" as well as at least some basic programs which get installed into "program files". Then comes the page file which should be at least equal if not larger than your physical RAM), and possibly a hiberfil.sys if you use hibernation (size equal to physical RAM). All in all, even if you install all non-essential and large programs to a different partition, a late-era XP system volume should be no less than 20 gigabytes (assuming 3-4 GB of physical RAM) for comfort.

cute

TERRY!

>palomino
Barton 2500+ represent ! At least heatsinks back then are more solid than current designs.

actually before barton was using thoroughbred but can't remember how i got the barton cheap via oem channel.

Been doing good pencil OC then.

Kinda hard when most people here are 15

I didn't know they had dev kits this good during the NES era.

wait, damn, this makes me feel old knowing i bought myself a playstation 1 when i was 10

have you tried running XP with 64M ram?
i have, then i reinstalled windows 98

XP was only usable with 256M ram or more, it hogged ~100M easy just by itself

it was the vista of it's day, very heavy

>hand on mouse during POST
for what purpose

>windows
>coloured lights
>cowadoody
some things haven't changed

What cases are those?

fucked if I remember - something in windows anyway, I remember that - actually It might have been upgrading to 98 now i think on it

it was a pretty dated machine then, 486dx2-66

>not posting the most epic battlestation ever

What? Who says so

Dude, he's over 40.

Just because he's likable doesn't make him any less of a degenerate

I meant that the picture is 8-10 years old. I wasn't.
