And this is why you should never listen to AMDtards.

After 2,5 years this gimped 3,5GB card still manages to outperform the 480

DELET

Whatever you need to make yourself feel better, cuck. Anybody who isn't poor already upgraded to a 1080 or higher. Enjoy being the tallest manlet.

I am already on a 1080 faggot

LOOOOOOOOOOOOOL

>not a Ti

Hahaha, had to wait for the price drop to afford a big boy card, eh? Don't worry, a year from now you can experience this feeling when it's obsolete and drops into your price bracket.

Ok, kid

>4 ips

>ips

>calling anyone else a kid after posting this thread

WEW LAD

Sure kid

>Posting cherrypicked benchmark
>Posting the video so people can see just how cherrypicked it is
>Video is using the older 480 and not the 580

You fucked up, shill. youtube.com/watch?v=lRlifgY85Vw

So why does the 1060 exist?

>cherrypicked benchmarks

He literally shows 12 fucking benchmarks you fucking idiot.

>Video is using the older 480 and not the 580
>older 480

The 970 is far older what are you complaing about you complete mongeloid

To succeed the 960, obviously

>less average fps
>less min fps
RX480 is the clear winner here you solt.

You should buy some glasses

Ok now turn on dx12

That video is useless since both cards are not oc'd in there

Lol, that meme again

oh great, another red vs green pissing contest. maybe this will be the one that ends all future conflicts

damn, I know how to cherry pick too

What's wrong? If your precious green cards are so good surely they won't DROP in performance with dx12...

oh wait.

>1080p

Lol

I hope you are not OP.

>the resolution 98%+ people game at
>LEL WHY NOT 1440 OR 4K?

Because it literally isn't relevant

Poor

im sure youve already seen the warhammer bench where your little cuck card is beaten by the blessed tahiti.

OP's Benchmark was also at 1080p

Barely beating a 2,5 year old card, Impressive AMD!

user, my monitor is 1440p and I have to buy a videocard. IDGAF how it performs at 1080p, I don't play games at 1080p.

I know right, 1060 is such a shit card.

>it's another episode of topfaggot op shilling his youtube channel

The 1060 beating the 970 is actualy a good result, since the 1060 is the 960 succesor.

Okay, and the 480 is the 380 successor which competed against the 960, so I'm not sure what your point is. It's only okay when Nvidia does it?

Who wants to play that shit anyways? Lmao

the 970 retailed at a higher price, and if you pump up the resolution it will drop to 1/6th the framerate while the 480 will not.

The 970 is a much older card on a much bigger node than the 480.

This result really is far more impressive for the 970 than it is for the 480.

If you knew anything about GPU tech you would understand this

Who gives a shit? I still use a GTX 770 and it does just fine on 1440p60.

>deus ex
>ultra
>texture v.high

3.5/4.0

Subtle.

Was anything I said inaccurate?

Nope, I'm just a lurker, not the guy you talk with.
I came here for the entertainment.

kek

>guy

it's probably a bot.

I don't give a shit about the 970, I'm talking about the 480 vs the 1060. You can't call the 1060's performance a good result considering it's the 960 successor and turn around and shit on the 480 when it's pretty much the same situation there too.

>You can't call the 1060's performance a good result considering it's the 960 successor

I can, and I did

>turn around and shit on the 480

I can, for reasons I already explained.

the 1060 is a card with much less cores than a 970. The fact that it beats the 960 and 970 is impressive.

The 480 losing to a much older card while being made on a smaller node, being much newer, and having significantly more cores is pretty pathetic

Hey, I need help choosing a graphic card and saw no thread about building computers in this board.

Of these graphic cards, which one would you get?

memoryexpress.com/Products/MX66324

memoryexpress.com/Products/MX66325

They all seem the same to me (580, 4gb) but there are vastly different in price. What I am missing?

>inb4 radeon meme

Fuck off

Go do your own homework, watch and read reviews

DELID DIS

I don't know which side you are shilling for

>,
Trashed

Who cares what the 970's original MSRP was? You can get them now for $120. So it's just as fast as a 480/580 for literally half the price.

I forgot the autismo in this place

Just get the cheapest one

nice rebuttal you lazy faggot

Won't the 970 be hotter / louder / use more power?

Who gives a shit about the core count? They're completely different architectures. The performance of both cards is a similar jump from their predecessors and they cost about the same.

Yeah, but one was released more than a year earlier

kek

No, I'm pretty sure the 1060 was released about one month after the 480.

Yes, the 1060 was, the 970 wasn't

Cool, I wasn't talking about the 970 though.

I was though, and that was also the subject of this thread.

who cares

Less subtle now user, be careful.

Don't ever reply to my post again

Leave you lazy cunt

>Read this as "Don't ever reply to me and my post son again"
I need to stop visiting this place.

No.

anandtech.com/bench/product/1748?vs=1743

Yeah I'm aware of that, I've been saying that it's inconsistent to praise the 1060 for it's performance relative to the 970 but do with opposite with the 480 when the situation for both cards is about the same performance and price-wise. Making a big deal about the core count is pointless.

>I've been saying that it's inconsistent to praise the 1060 for it's performance relative to the 970 but do with opposite with the 480

It isn't, for reasons I have already extensively explained.

Looks to me like it doesn't matter much which of these cards you get, you'll get slightly more frames with the RX 480 in some games and slightly more with the 1060 in others.

>Because it literally isn't relevant
Hogwash. It's totally relevant. If you're going to spend $2000 on a new computer today then you're going to buy a 1440p or a 4k display to go along with it. Buying a 1080p display now is just silly unless you're planning on using it with some system you bought used that's 5 years old.

If you're not rocking a triple 1440p monitor setup or a 4k display then you might as well buy a cheap laptop.

Right, it sure looks like the 3 year old GTX 970 is on par with both the GTX 1060 and the RX 480. This says as much about AMD as it says about NVidia. I guess the slightly good news is that things have improved in terms of TDP/power usage. Personally I got about twice the performance with 10W less TDP when upgrading from the Radeon 7850 to the RX 470 (which I preferred over the RX480 because of the lower TDP - and no, none of the RX 5xx housefire cards are better in that regard, they all have higher TDPs).

Too bad DX12 is Windows store exclusive, which means nobody is gonna use it.

>This says as much about AMD as it says about NVidia

Wrong, the fact that they can reach 970+ levels with as little cores as present on the 1060 shows they hace made significant leaps in performance per core and also in performance per watt.

AMD has made improvements aswell, but are still ways behind with the power draw of the 480 being equal to that of a 1070 while being much weaker.

Both have made strides, but the die shrink has definately been more favorable on Nvidia with cards boosting over 2000 mhs on the core clock

470 is around 50W more than a 7850.

No matter how many times I see it I still can't get over the size of those tiddies. That's not even moobs from being fat, those are a result of some serious hormonal imbalance for sure.

Performance per core is a tiny bit lower on Pascal than it is on Maxwell, Pascal just has higher clock speeds.

don't buy a 4 gb version, go with 8.

No, I got your point about the core count, I'm saying that doesn't really matter that much. Consumers care about price and performance, not how two completely different architectures stack up core-wise.

I mean the 7970 had more cores than the 680, but at the end of the day it still outperformed it more often than not at a similar price, at least if you got the GHz edition.

>Too bad DX12 is Windows store exclusive
no it is not.

The only games where the implementation of it isn't garbage are on Windows 10 Store.

sadly, that's correct. excluding ashes.
