Will Coffee Lake 6 Cores be on LGA1151? Will Intel stay on the same socket, or will they switch one more time?

>New intel socket 4 months away
>Coffinlake delayed until 2018
It's going on the new socket. 1151 is dead.
breh they're just gonna keep shelling out new sockets so retards have to constantly switch to keep up
im not AYYMD but sometimes i wish i was
>fuck you jewtel
Does it matter? You're gonna have to buy a $300 motherboard anyway to handle the 300W CPU power draw if you can OC the 6 cores to 5.0GHz
Coffee Lake is supposedly coming out later this year, Intel rushing it to counter AMD.
Of course it fucking will retard. It's just skylake V3.0
>counter AMD
>with housefired
Oh fucking god not again.
Well, the 7740k is probably the most hilarious SKU i've seen in a while
Why does it ever exist.
>8th generation
like generations have mattered for intel. last three generations have been a joke. only the second and fourth actually mattered and the fourth is a stretch since nehalem. third, fifth, sixth, and seventh have been jokes.
So idiots who think 4 cores are the end all be all of desktop CPUs can have something to "upgrade" to.
Intels(r) new holocaust on a socket(c)
I don't necessarily think that one is complete shit (it's not a game changer either), but the i5 7640k is real piece of shit in the lineup.
it was designed before amd launched ryzen. for some odd reason intel thinks people want shitty quads that don't even offer quad channel and full pci-express lanes on HEDT platform. intel has to have a hard on for quads since it seems like that's all they want to shit out.
I think they went full retard. Why? Who the fuck knows they need a day of the rope for their CEO.
i feel like intel lost all desire for innovation and pride after sandy. i guess we can blame amd for that for their lackluster faildozer line. amd didn't just hurt themselves, they damaged the entire industry. i'm glad they released a very competitive processor this time around with ryzen as its definitely sparked interest in the industry again.
if intel won't get its head out of its ass then at least we have amd who appears to actually give a shit again unlike faildozer.
They had no desire for innovation and pride since 90th. Since Itanic sunk.
Intel literally tried killing AMD with shady and illegal practices, obviously recovery wasn't easy and instant.
holy shill batman what's with these fuckin lies?
Melt my socket one more time.
A SOCKET CHANGE A YEAR KEEPS THE GOYIM IN FEAR
That's almost as catchy as "If you stick with the yid, you must delid".
A SOCKET CHANGE A YEAR KEEPS THE GOYIM IN FEAR
...
>Intel
Of course they /could/ but they won't. You'll need to buy a fine and expensive Z370 board for it.
Being on X99 feels nice. I will upgrade to a 5960X when I get one around 400 €.
>new Intel CPUs
>it's another, you don't need anything more than 4 cores for gaming episode
> overclock 6 core to 5ghz
Hahahahaha when coffee lake comes out it won't have those super high clock speeds like the 7700k giving up Intel's one and thing it beat AMD at high FPS at 1080p, odds are it won't overclock past 4.7
I just got a 6900 because it has 8 cores. Did I make a mistake?
6 kaby lake cores at 4.7ghz would destroy ryzen 7
They will destroy your mobo first.
is it? I thought it was smaller.
you can bet (((them))) won't allow it
besides, intel usually replaces the socket every other generation.
no wai (((((((((((their)))))))))))))) mobo manufacturer wont be happy
No socket change but....
NEW CHIPSET !! NO BACKWARDS OR FORWARD COMPATIBILITY !
Yes. Should have gotten a ryzen 7.
Sure it will, this motherboard has stronger vrms than any X370 motherboard.
IT has been confirmed that the new socket will be LGA 2066
>Will Intel stay on the same socket
they will probably stay with LGA 1151 but 8th gen CPU's will not be backwards compatible with Z270 and so on, you just fucking watch.
Z370 required even though 8thgen is just 2% performance increase from 100mhz stock clock out of the box, same IPC as the last 4 years of intel rebrands
Wouldn't a 6 core CPU with 7700k IPC be a good thing?
"lol delid" memes aside, isn't the 4 core of a 7700k what's holding it back?
It will clock lower, thus losing it's only advantage over Ryzen - clocks.
I like this one
Sure, it would delive insane performance. By the way, can your mobo handle 300w load from the CPU? Do you happen to have some LN2 and a container too?
I'd buy a hexacore i5 if it were compatible with my B250 motherboard.
They market it as 4ghz base and 4ghz+ what does that even mean?
Edit: 4ghz+ boost
>intel retards are gonna pay for another 1% overall performance increase for $100 more at the end of this year
feels good to be on ryzen
Post temps
Feels good to be inferior nigger-tier?
A socket change a year keeps the goyim in fear
And I doubt they will be able to run shoah lake on LGA1151 without melting the socket
does it feel good having your asshole stretched open by the ME?
or being retarded and still thinking AMD is btfo despite intel clearly trying their hardest to fight back by releasing another only marginally better CPU?
why not just buy a ryzen and have all the performance you'll need for home use for the next ~5 years instead of shilling out for the next 3 ___ lakes from one of the worst companies next to microshit?
t. feminist frequency trans-nigger jew
I don't think that's how it works with 6 cores, my dude. You may get some satisfied OCing but not with 5GHZ.
If you're not gonna get 5.0 then you could have bought a 6 core Haswell-E that could do 4.6 in 2014
>feels buying haswell performance in 2017.
Watercooled, yes.
>fight back
>by releasing an upgrade in name only
yeah sure they are sweating as the amd competition runs ahead
it's totally not that they don't care about shit because amd will not be able to overtake them
Sup Forums has to leave
Y-yeah goy we're rushing out *lake refreshes only for you, our customer.
Oh, yeah, you think you're not gonna watercool that 6 core kabylake to get that overclock?
You're waiting almost 3.5 years for 6% higher FPS and a delid job
no they are bringing it out because people are retarded and just buy it up you retard
my point was that they don't have to bring out shit that is better than what is already there to get people from buying amd
and thus there's literally no reason for them "to fight back" because their enemy is a kid with down syndrome
Y-yes goy we don't fear Naples. Naples? What Naples? Its all Nazi lies, remember 6 gorillions goyim.
like
Intel charges alot for chipsets, thus gaining more profits fore very new cpu.
>get cash from consumer buying a cpu
>get cash from manufacture for every mb
ehm
i am not sure i know what you babble about retard
maybe you should ask your wrangler to write for you
>intelfags unironically lauding housefire
You know over the past few month I understood one thing: intelgoys want another NetBurst.
1151 but wont work with skylake chipsets only with kanlake ones and new coffee lake chipsets
>coffin lake
No thanks.
I just want to cuddle and love lake-tan she doesn't have to impress me with OC just having her for a long time is more satisfying to me.
RELEASE
SKYLAKE
AGAIN
A socket change a year keeps the goyim in fear.
>will intel use the same socket
How is this even a question
What level of retardation do you have to be on for this question to even enter your brain
>Will Coffee Lake 6 Cores be on LGA1151
I think yes and no. I've read a couple rumors that 1151 stays, but the 7640K/7740K are confusing me a bit.
My bet is they're moving the mainstream K cpus into the HEDT platform, including a possible 6 core CL
They don't know socket changes are for architecture updates, not refreshes.
Just regurgitating the usual dumb Sup Forums memes.
That's their enthusiast platform.
It would burn your house down first.
Their i5 6-core was spotted running at 3.5 GHz base. That is not a good sign if you want to go over 4.4 GHz or so. wccftech.com
