Whats a good open source video editor Sup Forums?

Whats a good open source video editor Sup Forums?

there is no such thing

>open source
>good

pick one

openshot

I remember kdenlive was one, but I don't really get into video editing so I can't tell you if it is good.

Lightworks

This, not even joking.

At most you'll find something "passable"

openshot is trash

openshot fucking sucks

it's good, but not open source at all

>Install openshot
>Open it
>Immediately asks for firewall permissions
>Try to cut video
>It crashes

blender

I thought blender was for 3d stuff? Is it really good for editing videos?

Pretty decent.
Look up the Blender VSE.

Its better than most free video editors since they're fucking garbage.

Sony Vegas

a virtual machine and a copy of a real NLE

this

kdenlive is surprisingly decent.

>MAGIX Vegas
ftfy

Into the trash it goes. Seems like I can't open mp4 videos

Vapoursynth. Only mouthbreathing illiterates will disagree.

my only experience with Kdenlive was:
1. do a thing
2. save
3. do another thing
4. it crashes
5. reopen Kdenlive
6. reload the project
7. repeat from step one until done

Blender
if you want more Free Beer than Freedom, then DaVinci Resolve is also an option, but not on Linux

open source? no
"free" maybe

it does look pretty decent for most stuff, thx on the heads up

Lightworks is free as in beer, does run on Linux, and is very professional, which neo/g/ seems to care about an awful lot.

This or avisynth. Git gud you casual faggots.

shit for brains much

Shotcut, spent a while looking for one and this one is great for windows and linux.

>Doing all of that
I just pirated the portable version and it works out of the box.

too bad its interface is the worst in the history of video editors.

ffmpeg

>t. Illiterate brainlet

Pitivi.

Thoughts on Shotcut? Just started using it today for minor projects and it feels way over complicated

kdenlive or openshot.

just downloaded it, loaded a video in it and created some short webm's etc - looks good.
