Slang

What's some everyday slang you use, in your native language?

>lad
>bruv
>m8
>wanker
>tosser
as you have probably surmised by now, /brit/ is my only form of social interaction

i say whatsup to my brother

that's it

Yoit don't actually use these in everyday life though. Come on, gives us some Canadian specific slang, you must have some right?

I don't use slang like a retarded hick, I talk proper English.

what are you saying (whurr sayin')
frigging
calling every inanimate object "she"
fit (attractive)
dart (cigarette)

I would fedora you but I don't have my folder on this tablet.

oh and "dart" is slurred to "durrt"

>Dart
Never heard of that, is this Canadian specific of do yanks use this as well?

canada specific although i remember an aussie saying they use it too

Eh, no worries. I'm not fat or a loner so your statement is invalid.

Pop for soda pop.
Smokes for cigarettes.

Bump for fight
Smash for sex
Put down for pay up

>Bump
Explain how this would be used?
>"You wanna bump"
Doesn't sound right, guess I'm not use to it tbf.

What state?

You say it when you talk about a fight
>damn that nigga T finna bump a nigga if he don't get his money
Florida, I think it's just a general southern thing

Gopnik - redneck/hillbillie
Bydlo - a bunch of gopniks
And other weird words.

Break means make change.
As in: "Hey, can you break this twenty for me?"

We have that here too

We have lame shit like nek minnit

that's not common? everyone here says it

>And other weird words
Keep sharing I'm intrigued.

We share a lot of our slang with Australia, and a lot of it is just shortening it

Convo = conversation
Arvo = afternoon
Bevvy = alcoholic beverage

We also use Maori words occasionally but almost entirely in a sarcastic sense E.g. Ka pai = well done

slang
def leppard?

I use a little bit of British, white, chicano, and negro slang around friends and family. Sometimes I call my brother m8, lad, nigger, nigga, homie, dude, etc. Only with very close friends do I use these, otherwise I am fairly reserved around others. For my friends who have studied French in university, we occasionally trade insults while Spanish insults are known by just about anyone who has grown up in Southern California, though some might not be as familiar with a word like "mallate" which is literally a kind of beetle but is a Chicano pejorative for "nigger."

Also, a few months ago someone called me "mate" at university. He had just as an American accent as I do, so I'm wondering if some British slang isn't starting to spread here. This was in San Diego, where we do have some Britbongs and Aussies, but I would not have expected to hear a fellow American call me mate.

This is not American slang. This is nigger slang. Learn the difference

we use convo too

Pivas(пивac) - beer
Torchok(тopчoк) - junkie

>so I'm wondering if some British slang isn't starting to spread here

Please please don't.. No offence to yanks but the American (and Canadian) accent doesn't work with mate or lad or most other Brit slang (sorry if you're offended) tbqh. Just as American slang like dive, awesome and other stuff sounds cringy in our accent.

Sometimes here too.

*Dude

post vocaroos of yourself saying slang from other countries

kuso.
it means shit but we use it like fucking~
kore kuso umai
this is fucking yummy

Never really here it much since i moved in the city, much more common in rural areas

I don't know, it was some douchebag covered in tribal tattoos. Not the kind of people I willingly talk to.

As for using British slang among my friends, it's always done with an accent and for certain situations where a British character seems appropriate. Sometimes my girlfriend from Dorset does a valley girl accent when she wants to repeat something bitchy she heard that day. Some accents are universally associated with certain manners more than others.

Is there any special words you use to racially offend a japanese in japanese?

3:38AM would wake people up desu, shame I didn't start this thread in the day...

fucking this

Are we not your fellow Americans or was jfk just talking to whites??

You are our fellow Americans. But i'd consider the way we talk different subgroups of American speech, would you not? Scots, english and Welsh talk different but they're all British right? Hence the way niggers speak in the US and the way The rest of Americans (including most of the US Blacks) speak are pretty different.

my grampa's generation used Itakou,(wop)Amekou(Yanks),Kuronbo(nigger),
these days we use Burikasu(brit + trash)

Chong (gook) is used by all generation.

Can you call another japanese in who's purity of blood you're in doubt a chong?

Piss off

Mate

Whanau - Family in Maori

Sweet - equivalent of great

Maori's use more like chur, bru, cuzzie etc and probably more Maori terms but white New Zealanders don't use them.

Bevvy is lower class/bogan tier

I first heard it from other middle class lads in my uni hall tttt (to tell the truth)

>Can you call
> chong?

NEVER !!

Gachi
meaning : straight up
