This thread is for the discussion of the possible replacements for Nyaa.se
News >Thanks to the new Uk streaming laws nyaa is taken down by his founder. No database was left. >Some anons in the last thread actually believed that you could put a bitcoin miner inside a .mkv or a magnet. Everyone went nuts. It was confirmed that it was just a stupid bait.
Sources >nyaa.pantsu.cat (db is up to date with nyaa) >sukebei.pantsu.cat (db is from 11-10-16) >nyaarchive.moe (hosted on a russian website, the db is most updated one and it has descriptions)
not sure about this. See Anyway, I would not incourage uploading feature right now, as long as we don't have a really distributed backup and vetting system. And we're still missing a tracker. DHT is fine, but without a tracker it's a pain in the ass.
Chase Robinson
They still have things to do before they get that far. They are debating about accounts, requirements for uploads and filtering spam in the issues. github.com/ewhal/nyaa/issues/103
Hudson Davis
Why an upload feature? It's not like the cartel will use it. Just scrape from AT or TT.
Xavier Bennett
>mfw Sup Forums actually successfully completes a project
David Fisher
Uploads are not going to be enabled before a system for (basic) content moderation is in place. Also the magnet links have trackers appended to them.
Dylan Butler
Does go hold up with all the traffic?
Adrian Rivera
The future's so bright that we don't need the cartel.
Leo Smith
>successfully Something should be done about this before we can call it a success.
Nicholas Hall
how do i know if bitcoin miner embedded or not? how can i understand if its in my pc already?
Nolan Hall
We'll force the cartel to use it.
Ryder Rogers
>successfully completes a project Don't jinx it as it isn't yet finished. Can easily have some major disaster still happen.
Jackson Rivera
bitcoin magnet link meme is from 2015, two years ago when utorrent, that's right fucking UTORRENT, loaded their shit with a miner there's more than one reason to stop using utorrent past 2.2.1
Jacob Campbell
>there are still plebs that use utorrent
Josiah Anderson
Hate to break it to you guys but matt and snowfag (horriblesubs mafia) are working on their own replacement and I'm quite sure HS is going to use that so your site is going to become irrelevant
Noah Mitchell
It'll happen the day Sup Forums will be able to automate ripping Amazon, Netflix, Wakanim, AoD, re-encodes their video and mux it CR's sub.
But they're making their own site as we speak. No way they would use some user's site over their.
Kevin Hall
I regularly see quite a lot of them in my peer list.
Jordan Robinson
We just need to finish pantsu before they even make significant progress.
Anthony Evans
go on public trackers and you'll see plenty
Anthony White
Most people seem to use qbittorrent or deluge nowadays though. I remember it used to be worse.
What matters the most is who is first. The Pantsu guy is way ahead of everyone else right now.
Kayden Edwards
>closed source project from a bunch of incompetents that didn't even scrape or keep a backup of nyaa db >meaning anything open sores or suffer another m/a/yday
Lincoln Morales
being first means jack shit the other project being done by the russian guy is doing fine as well you could probably find him on the russia chans
Liam Hernandez
>content moderation that's the only correct choice
>links have trackers I'm working on a scraper that will give update S/L info for supplied tracker, still nyaa tracker being down is a pain in the ass.
Look at your CPU with task manager. If you see unmotivated consistent usage, than you're infected.
>your site is going to become irrelevant >implying we can't scrape their site and add magnets to our site
Jeremiah Sanchez
>Sup Forums will be able to automate ripping Amazon, Netflix
LOL, cracking their DRM requires good RE knowledge, I bet an average college student code monkey here couldn't reverse their way out of a paper bag
Brody Gonzalez
You do know that the plan is not to make a replacement right? The stated idea of pantsudev is making a public database program that can be both a webpage or a private database with public scrappers and posted DBs so that even non-programmer anons can keep a database of both nyaa and whatever comes next. In a way, that's even better, it'd prevent an all eggs in one basket situation when the next tracker inevitably goes down.
>implying we can't scrape their site and add magnets to our site
Okay, so you're just going to be a mirror, HS and the fansubbers are going to use their site because they all sit on Rizon and know each other
Aiden Myers
>what matters the most is who is first No. What matters the most is where fansubbers post their releases actually. And that'll be the cartel's site. Stop deluding yourself.
Gabriel Ortiz
Herkz and HS can rip Amazon just fine though.
Austin Brooks
Didn't know naya was Sup Forums related. Do you think any of the amk cards will impact naya zoo? I am not sure wat to take out if there is.
Cameron Price
>you're just going to be a mirror
A decentralized mirror. If they go dark, we make sure nothing is lost.
Grayson Clark
This is a nonissue. Everyone will use the magnets and database at pantsu. Who cares if they technically track somewhere else.
Gavin Jenkins
>This thread is for the discussion of the possible replacements for Nyaa.se
piratebay.se
/thread
Bentley Cook
Like this user said Have you literally learned nothing from this? The whole point is avoiding losing a fucking year of sukebei, by making a public mirror and encouraging anons to keep it updated we can make sure nothing is lost.
With any luck, the cartel might even not be asshats as always and let other people help them in keeping animu safe.
Aiden Russell
Probably none of these websites use DRM, if they did the project would likely get DMCA'd
Jack Garcia
Thoughts on picotorrent?
Lucas Young
i hope this becomes a great site for backups.
Jack Myers
>youtube-dl >try downloading that >it just says it needs a URL and instantly closes itself
I feel blueballed
James Miller

welp.
Julian Russell
I'm using transmission, is there a way to block utorrent peers?
Grayson Rogers

Xavier Torres
thumbnail looks like it has a thought provoking background
Ryder Thompson
This Renchon vector is thought provoking
Asher Garcia
>descriptions are back
Justin Taylor
You guys do know the cartel has said that if a good public tracker has popped up they might consider using it, even if it isn't theirs, right?
Lucas Clark
well if one popped up it wouldn't be fucking theirs anyway now would it
Joshua Martinez
>trusting Daiz >ever
Caleb Campbell
>good Good as in allowing them to mark "good" releases?
Josiah Foster
Whats with the date data?
Luis Martin
If i torrent in the UK am i more likely to go to jail now?
What if i use magnet links and do it through VPN?
James Reyes
Renchon should NOT be on sukebei.
Ian Perez
What this really needs is another line of result pagelinks at the bottom. You search for something, scroll down, can't find it, and have to scroll all the way back up (or reach for the "top" button on the keyboard) to click on the link to the next page.
But great work anyway, thanks a lot for your efforts to everyone working on this!
Easton Jenkins
>What this really needs is another line of result pagelinks at the bottom. Relevant git commit has merged 7 hours ago, beg PantsuDev to deploy the modifications.
Oliver Reed
Alread inplemented. All we need is for PantsuDev to wake up and deploy it.
Luis Martinez
...
Thomas Reed
just use tribler, is like tor but for torrents.
Julian Fisher
Go effectively uses all processing power I can throw at it. The DB is the main bottle neck at the moment but we're moving it to postgres. sukebei timestamps are still borked. how can the cartels even compete. We're planning on adding scraping so even if they refuse to use it we'll still have automatically up to date dbs.
Jackson Campbell
delet this
Christian Morales
>Go
Is this why the search function is so slow compared to old nyaa?
Seed/Leech counters when?
Joshua Green
I can't open animetosho, did another one just get killed?
Henry Walker
Can we get filelists working?
Connor Garcia
I'm pretty sure it's down right now
Jack Rivera
The site is slow generally, search isn't slow in itself. Seeder/Leecher counters is low on the priority list (uploading comes first)
Definitely not because the db only has magnet links.
Isaiah Williams
IPFS user from yesterday, I know the other guy working on it had answered some of the questions but I'll go ahead and answer too.
It's a indexer I guess, groups have their nodes which notify users of releases and people can add that to a database they can search around. Results returned will be with a IPFS hash of the file and a magnet link (for now).
For pubsub releases, yes. But if you miss out on the pubsub release you will find every release in a json file that is updated at the same time as the pubsub announcement. I was also thinking of doing a smaller json file that would only hold, lets say 50 (maybe 100) releases which would only be a small file and you could poll that to ensure your releases are up to date and you didn't miss any. This file would also be used for the new releases check every time you open your client and the last entry on that file wasn't in your database you'd have to scrape the larger json file.
>possible to autopin files that are being played up to X GB Still new to IPFS so I'm learning as I go, pinning is basically seeding the files from what I gather. I plan to make it autopin files that you download (not index) unless specified, I have terrible internet and data caps so as much as I'd like to seed uploading kills my bandwidth and I can't do much else on the internet although I try to seed the little things. Being able to disable the autopin is also on my mind too. Hopefully some anons with powerful connections can autopin new releases for everyone else to enjoy, thats the aim I guess.
Imma catch up on the world for some hours then I'll start work on it again.
I think AnimeTosho had a download of all/most nyaa .torrent files too but it seems down right now
Jack Miller
Touched up the logo from last night
Jason Gutierrez
...
Jace Wright
I think the nyaa should be the nyaa light green.
I can get behind that shimapan tho
Wyatt Johnson
How do you guys download your animes? I just use qBittorrent
Isaiah Torres
I'm really digging the shimapan thing the Pantsu part of the logo has going on.
Eli Rivera
Fuck the meme cartel and especially fuck Nyaa. Goddamn imbeciles let NT die just like that.
Luke Lewis
I open up magnet links in my bitcoin miner.
Andrew Green
Swap the purple to pantsu and the green to nyaa and we good
Christopher Parker
Open source miners should be forked to mine magnets instead of bitcoins. Then they'd be able to find active but lost sukebei magnets not in db.
Jose Russell
shimapan should stay, no matter what.
Elijah Miller

Am I the only one not a fan of the Italicised "Nyaa"? It just looks strange.
Ayden Reed
Nyaa~?
Carter Allen
Nope you're not alone.
Jacob Lee
Not a fan of the green, looked better before.
William Rodriguez
I can make a non-italicized version but it'll take a little longer than swapping colors. my reasoning is I wanted to give the Nyaa some personality without making it too cheesy or distracting
Isaiah Rodriguez
Was Nyaa better than AB?
Justin Collins
I don't mind that looks good to me, not a fan of the bubbly Pantsu though, would be better if it was in a bit of a sharper font imo, looks a bit contrasting to the Nyaa. Maybe I'm just on the opposite end of the spectrum to you.
