I had a VM, but I can't shut it off and then turn it on again.

If I do, then it loads forever upon trying to start up.

I deleted Oracle afterwards.

Is a good first distro and I recommend it for winfags, now I use Devuan

Windows just werks, haven't had a signle reason to switch to loonix, especially after bash for windows was released.

My motherboard is a bit fucked and it thinks my processor is overheating despite it staying at 35C, so it sends a "BCPROCHOT" signal to throttle the processor to 500MHz. I have to use a program called Throttlestop to stop my computer from underclocking my processor.

If something like this exists on Linux I would switch instantly.

Question for Ubuntu - are the LTS versions considered to be more secure, or am I better off running 17.04 instead of 16 in terms of the computer's security?

It's the only thing keeping me from jumping from 16.04, I know it's a minor bug but I use a lot of QT software.
Security is the same, once they release a security patch it gets to all active Ubuntu versions at the same time

Gnome is about the only one that doesn't suck for touchscreen use. So Debian testing + Gnome. If it's x86, Find a way to get gnome to work on clear linux.
