My phone can't take larger photos than 3.2 MP / 850 KB. Fits perfectly fine with my 2 MBit connection.

Trust me, people will find a way to post 4MB pictures even with your phone.

Please tell me. Its a K800i. I can install Java apps on it. Does an alternative camera app exist? I think it could record videos above 176x144 px in theory, but the Sony default camera doesn't.

I assumed it would've been an Android at least, but it should still be possible. Either try and take a screenshot of the picture with the phone, or just move the picture to your PC and convert it to PNG there.

I think the format of apps is called "JavaME".

I don't know how to take screenshots on it, googling didn't help, the screens resolution is 320x240 anyway.
