Get in here, shit's gonna go down! Google just found a MASSIVE RCE hole in Windows! Like every time, details will leak and it will end up being exploited in the real world before it's fixed.
IT'S FUCKING HAPPENING! WINPOCALYPSE IS HERE!!!!!!!!!!
it's happening, isn't it! ugh, time to boot loonix for few months until this is fixed.
John Wood
>W*dows Who cares, if you want safety and privacy you wouldn't be using that garbage in the first place

You know they will not release this into the wild.
Dylan Brooks
>Like every time, details will leak and it will end up being exploited in the real world before it's fixed. Yeah, that doesn't happen.
James Ramirez
>It's a Tavis Ormandy massively exaggerates the severity of a flaw he found to inflate his ego and pretend he's the defacto security god episode
I've lost count of how many times this guys has found a "world changing" flaw and nothing ever come of it.
Henry Brooks
No wonder their shills were shitposting in Sup Forums against linux, I mean, more than usual of course
Julian King
Microsoft had better pay them to do so.
Grayson Martin
"The code is really high quality guys trust us"
Owen Hill
Almost all of these require physical access in some way.
The number of "EXTREME WORLD ENDING SECURITY FAULT DISCOVERED!" that turns out to begin with a fucking USB stick in the target machine are uncountable at this point.
What that means is that when legitimate problems rather than enthusiast problems are found they are washed away in the tide and don't get the exposure they need.
Mason Lewis
>t. 12yo
Asher Hughes
>Linux gets a exploit >it gets a name and it's own website (heartbleed etc)
>Windows gets a exploit >Nothing to see here guys!
Does anyone doubt that Microsoft is using shills to blow up every Linux exploit and sweep Windows exploits under the rug? You'd have to be retarded.
Dominic Reyes
Windows is a privacy nightmare and often awful in security because it aims for convenience, so it makes it easy to do stupid shit, but... >Tavis This is likely a case of I have physical access to your machine
Mason Evans
>worst windows remote code exec
yawn, millennials don't remember how blaster worm spread by simply spamming random IP addresses
Juan Fisher
>Move to Linux/macos ASAP!
Or update ASAP once patches are released. Exploit details are not released until a fix has been authored.
Oliver Lee
implying that's not the desired effect >bug #23487625 >start by running x.exe as administrator >bug #23487626 >start by running plugging x into thunderbolt or pci >bug #23487627 >be within 300 kilometers with a SDR and you can get a full memdump >bug #23487628 >start by running x.exe as administrator
Jaxson Anderson
Why should anyone want to use an operating system that can be hacked by anyone with physical access?
Jaxson Robinson
Is that what i do then laptop with linux for everything else and a PC for just games?
Colton Brooks
because every os can, user.
Caleb Morris
That's what I do at least.
Dominic Ross
....unless they take longer than 90 days to create a fix
Cameron Rivera

Really it's just a sign of respect. Finding a flaw in a well designed, professional operating system like NT is a pretty big deal.

>The security flaw, officially known as CVE-2017-0199, could allow a hacker to seize control of a personal computer with little trace, and was fixed on April 11 in Microsoft's regular monthly security update - nine months after it was discovered.

kill your self shill
Jack Martin
>Almost all of these require physical access in some way. you're an idiot who doesn't know what an RCE is.
Tyler Russell
>CVE-2017-0199 That requires you to open an executable document, not the same as an RCE.
Ryder Roberts
who cares? it's just as bad. go back to sucking microshit dick, pajeet.
Tyler Lewis
What? I'm pointing out it's not remotely exploitable.

you're literally retarded when it comes to computers and security. you should stfu.

so in other words, >windows is an insecure piece of garbage What else is new? Actually how is this even news? I thought they find like 20 million Windows exploits every week and have to patch them.
Nathaniel James
Guise, GUISE... it's fucking bad. Here's the details.
I swear that I will never again connect to the internet using that Windows partition on my laptop that I rarely use as it is. So much fucking incompetence. Windows is trash
Austin Evans
The only people who even still defend windows are fatass gaming neckbeards. Everyone else hates windows, including normies that have to deal with it in office jobs and shit. kys you fat autistic reddit nigger

To be fair if we were to make a web page for every Microsoft exploit we would run out of IPv6 Address, seriously in the past you could shutdown a w95 machine just by sending a bad ping and the first remote desktop servers for windows used to tell you which part of the password you got wrong.
Leo Rivera
>every Windows 10 device will be updated within 24 hours >meanwhile millions of LInux boxes are botted and have whitehats remotely bricking them to fix the threat to the internet.

>Windows get an exploit >Nothing to see here guys!
That's because it's so fucking common. Winfags are used to insecure systems.
Jonathan Sanders
because MS surface family devices all have secure boot on all the time and a huge warning if you leave it off.
Ryan Moore
Just get an Xbox One.
Colton Wilson
there's no games
Jack Thompson
It's great if you want to play your games at 720p running 30fps on low visual settings.
Parker Johnson
See Also, it would be best if you refrained from speaking about things you know nothing about. Microsofts security processes when it comes to vulnerability testing and fixing is leagues ahead as compared to Linux. Linus doesn't give a shit about security.
>google working on it's own OS >guise windows is full of bugs look!!!!!!! google can go kill themselves to be quite tbqh honest
Nathan Morgan
if they're so good at catching vulnerabilities, then why can't they just stop writing shitty software that has all those vulnerabilities in the first place? Neither Mac nor Linux have nearly as many problems in that regard. It's not even close.
Oliver Thomas
I don't like Google, but I kind of hope they do kill Microsoft. Microsoft deserves it for shitting out garbage to its sheep fanbase for the past I don't fucking know, 7 was their peak and it's all been downhill since. They're also one of the biggest abusers of the H1b, and from the looks of these fucking vulnerabilities it looks like hiring all those unskilled pajeets is finally starting to catch up with them.
Luis Torres
What the fuck is this. It's literally faster and cheaper to use a keyboard or an MIDI keyboard.
Dominic Adams
Why is Windows full of so many holes, then?
It's one thing if they can catch the holes quick, but with all these fucking problems that Windows has, you'd think they'd be able to learn from it and stop making shit with holes in it.
Elijah Stewart
ahahaha good joke friendo
Connor Price
>whitehats remotely bricking them to fix the threat to the internet Is this for real?
Asher Murphy
>It's great if you want to play your games at 720p running 30fps on low visual settings.
Another fucking exploit? I'm not even going to bother letting my laptop install updates anymore, because apparently it's not even worth it when the devs can't even catch this shit before google does
Joshua Barnes
>the first remote desktop servers for windows used to tell you which part of the password you got wrong. There's no way this is true.

Who will buy this shit?
Logan Allen
And done.
Jose Ramirez
Doesn't affect Windows 7?
Logan Cox
I'm disappointed. I wanted winfags to suffer more.
Brayden Wilson
>If they're so good at catching vulnerabilities, then why can't they just stop writing shitty software that has all those vulnerabilities in the first place?
Because writing secure code is hard. Sometimes things will interface in unexpected ways that aren't caught initially.
>Neither Mac nor Linux have nearly as many problems in that regard. It's not even close.
lmao are you serious? Check the CVE's list. The only reason MacOS isn't getting their asshole gaped by a stallion dick is marketshare.
And there are vulnerabilities in Linux all the time, hell, a few weeks ago there was vuln that allowed you to pop a box by sending a malformed UDP packet. And there have been tons of historically stupid vulnerabilities within both those operating systems.
The point is that there will always be vulnerabilities. And Windows is the operating system with the most marketshare in the world. Therefore, it's going to be attacked more often.
There's no problem with having a thread discussing the vulnerability, but when it devolves into the "My operating system is better than your operating system" bullshit, it's just retarded.

Seems more like a workaround than a fix unless the vulnerability was in defender.
Jaxon Wilson
They cucked the exploit

THIS WAS FIXED IN APRIL BY A MONTHLY SECURITY UPDATE.
THIS IS A PERFECT EXAMPLE OF WHY YOU ALWAYS KEEP WINDOWS UPDATE ON ITS MOST AGGRESSIVE SETTINGS.

Windows is the most secure operating system ever created - millions of attempts to find holes in it have been made and all those holes have been plugged. The other operating systems are relying on the fact that so far no one has made much of an effort to find security holes in the system and so most of them are still there undiscovered and therefore not yet exploited.
Yes Windows is the best operating system. Apple has been very successful and very impressive as of late but I think Windows is still years ahead of it's competition. It has been available much longer and has a bigger base in terms of technology and company compared to apple or other operating systems
I mean lets get real for a moment. You install windows 10 in about 45 minutes and for most linuxes its about the same but remember. Biggest base linuxes are about 1 gigabytes or 2 while windows 10 can be more than 5 gigabytes of data. And what happens when you open them. On linux there are about 2 functional buttons, 3 are nonfunctional and in those two buttons there are some pictures to play with. Maybe slide down or up. On windows though, you feel like a god. Its professional its fast, its all functional. You have a godlike user interface. The thing that linux does not have. You have those two buttons in linux, but you still search google for codes to write in terminal. Linux is free because its not worth a penny. Nobody would sell a paper without taking the money. Just not sure why people still buy android while windows phone does 10 times more. Trust me. When you work with windows you know some genius ground breaker dedicated himself to give you an operational os

The only Windows products it mentions are Windows 8 and later, however it DOES mention Microsoft Security Essentials which IS installed on my Windows 7 machine (came with it, not something I installed afterwards). And according to the Microsoft website, I do have the version that's vulnerable.

"Video games" is two words, not one. And besides, people who care about them are just useful idiots for the hardware industry. They're planned obsolescence personified. I'd rather use software that I don't need a high end machine to run, thank you very much.
Liam Ramirez
kek, hear that guys? It's the anguished cries of an unemployed millennial
William Diaz
It's even worse. Years ago, Bill Gates basically sent the Windows team an ultimatum to get serious about security. Vulnerabilities like this are nowhere near as common as they used to be.
On the other hand, Linus doesn't give a shit about security and just ranks security bugs on equal footing with the rest of the bugs, and he's surrounded himself with yes-men who think just like him.
