Why is there a 750 ti just hanging out in there? Making me jealous.
Probably for the pcie passthrough meme.
I never knew Tux Racer required such an advanced GPU ..

I puked a little from this thread.
Windows 10 is so shit since Windows 7 or any other version of the OS exists..
Okay grandpa.

Sweet
Now go back to your shitty GNU or Linux thread
New CPU
Sold one of the RAMs hoping the replacement 4 GB module arrives tomorrow
Why do you have a 750 Ti? Better get a 1070 instead.
I wish I had one, even when I should have similar performance, my 560 Ti crashes my PSU if I put full load on it
Are you _really_ using this? I wouldn't use something like this unless it was for retro gaming, otherwise install Linux on it.
Unfortunately most people don't care, I do, I'll run 8.1 until eternity
>91°
Nice Fermis... How is the performance in 2017?
400 series seem to be very shitty temperature wise, my 560 only reaches 80° now after I applied the thermal paste correctly.
Get a fire extinguisher.
>Nice Fermis... How is the performance in 2017?
Runs Overwatch at 60fps @1920x1200 with almost all ultra settings, a few frame drops to 40.
the only important specs you need to know.
>Are you _really_ using this? I wouldn't use something like this unless it was for retro gaming, otherwise install Linux on it.
It's my shit posting machine, I plan on using it for retro gaming like you said and I'm also dual booting Xubuntu.
...
>pic related
Its a GTX 480.
VRAM? Do you play anything else? I would switch them anyway. Too much power draw, heat and low performance.
>my 560 Ti crashes my PSU if I put full load on it
Sounds pretty typical for thermi.
I like it when old hardware becomes somehow useful, but I can't imagine that it runs well, especially on heavy tabbed usage. Windows XP is completely insecure nowadays, installing Xubuntu would be the best option. It should increase the performance a lot.
I upgraded to a pair of 680s
Now I run Overwatch 100% in ultra mode, no frame droppage.
I dont really play anything else, and if I do its one game at a time. Overewatch is just flavor of the month (year) for me right now. before i played Sc2 nonstop, but it wont run in SLI
Its a shitty Lite-On 300 W (268) from 2007. I was surprised it didn't explode but just shuts off.
I found a Vengeance 450 for 20 € and another Lite-On 450 for 10 €, which should I choose? I'll use my CX500 from my main PC from next month on.
SLI doesn't seem a nice solution with old cards. Do you really need it? I would look for a cheap watercooled 290. Everything you need on 1080p and you have the proper cooling for it.
You are not alone bro.
That's a lotta cores.
>Its a shitty Lite-On 300 W (268) from 2007. I was surprised it didn't explode but just shuts off.
Lite-On is one of the better OEM brands. I've got an EVGA 430w in that i3-3220 build. Probably one of the best budget PSUs IMO.
I run 8+ year old hardware, I prefer to stay within a generation of the hardware. Paid $120 for the 680, sold the 480 pair for $90. I'm happy with the performance.
That legit or ES?
Forgot this was a speccy thread
Update your speccy
Thanks for the reminder.
I know. I'm not looking to buy it new, I searched in my area so I can fetch it personally. I'll get a Seasonic Gold or Platinum PSU for my primary build next month (Is Platinum worth it?) and use the CX500M then. It served my 5820K and 1070 well.
It doesn't make much sense, a 1060 or 480 would be better as it won't have scaling problems. You will never reach 100 % on SLI, and you can't play anything else than AAA titles with it.
Planning a 1070 SLI btw.
dont care, happy with the two 680s
It's the legit one.
I have a Seasonic Prime Titanium 750w and it's boss as fuck. 10/10 on jonnyguru.
...
Titanium is overkill and too expensive, costs over 200 €. Gold 650 W is 100 and Platinum 140 €.
I wanted EVGA first but the Seasonic has four 6+2 Pins which I need for dual 1070 FTWs.
Are those two percent more efficiency worth it or are the higher models made of higher value components?
I had a BQ DPP10 1000W PSU before, it was pure shit, the first one (bought new over 200 €) failed after the first half of the year (Never used more than 50 % of its capacity). The second one had terrible coil whine and sometimes just shut off, the third one (1200 W DPP11) had coil whine and strange noises too.
My CX500 is totally quiet and does not make any noises. I was surprised how good a budget PSU can be. I wouldn't change it if I didn't wanted SLI, I would need a bigger one for a 1080 Ti too.
They are cheap now, but you still have to deal with the shitty cooler and locked TDP.
...
why is your motherboard so hot
nah, thats not the real temp, i dont know why it is reading it wrong...
bios and asus suite is showing the correct temps
why is no one running the cheap dual xeons, like e5 2690?
Grabbed a Dell Optiplex 790 on Ebay on-sale for $108 and threw in a new PSU and a 1050 ti. All-in-all, a 300 budget build. Pretty decent for what it is, in my opinion.
I have the same issue. Speccy is pure shit.
Aren't Sup Forums "programmers"? Why don't they program some open source spec program?
Okay dumbass.
I bet you switched for the IMPRESSIVE DX12 'gayms' improvement.
>everyone who hates my spyware OS is a Linux neckbeard!
No, some people have taste and use Windows 7 as a well made OS.
Unless you're that focused into the 'DX 12' meme, not like it is worth it but do 'gamers' really care with their illogical brains?

whats AMD High definition audio device?
the the onboard sound on the R9 380
Don't ask.
Anyway its just a redirection that AMD does to get sound to monitor speacker of the Realtek sound chip on my Z170.
neat
Why does it say 2047MB and 6GB on the 1060?
getting a new board, the northbridge seems to get suspiciouslly hot and crashes, only to be unbricked by reseating the battery
9590 on a 970?
less of a meme than having 32gb ram in your game console
not too bad, at least it isn't an fx

I've had this build since 2013, no complaints whatsoever
new GPU will arrive sometime this week
why only 4.3? I'm sure it's more than enough anyways.
I need a new pic, gpu is cooler with new paste.
...
>why only 4.3?
I didn't have much luck and I guess I've lost the silicon lottery, the binning isn't that good and anything more than 4.5GHz will bring me 90+ temps and also I'd have to increase the voltage to almost 1.4V to keep it stable (I'm on air). I don't even encode video that much these days so I just left it as it was.
why do you have these weird timings? Is that because you were fucking with the bus speed?

Why a 680?
Waiting to see what Vega brings before I decide if I'm getting a 1080ti or not.
Alright but something tells me you'll end up with a 1080ti anyway unless you want to wait 2-3 years of AMD driver updates before Vega even comes close to a 1080ti, which aftermarket ti you interested in?
Any of them are probably fine but probably in order of what ever is cheaper at the time EVGA FTW3 > Gigabyte Aorus > MSI gaming x
AMD drivers have been fine for awhile now. The shoe is on the other foot. Nvidia is the one with buggy-ass drivers auto updating and shoving bloated Geforce XPERIENCE and telemetry services down your throat.
Excuse me you swine, AMD just got caught placing unauthorized shortcuts on users desktops with literally tinyurl links to make them money, AMD is no better.
I'll take a desktop shortcut (that they later removed after complaints) over Telemetry drivers and bloated crap full of exploits blog.sec-consult.com
The telemetry only gets installed if you install GeForce Expierence software (I didn't install it). So it's not a sneak tactic unlike the dirty shit AMD just did where the shortcuts were there for everyone regardless of install options. It doesn't matter if they cleaned up shop, it happened.
>The telemetry only gets installed if you install GeForce Expierence
It's bundled with the drivers themselves now.
It installs w/o the experience shit now. You need to manually disable it in windows services.
Well fucking shit, I am no longer a NVIDIA fanboy.
