Because I want to run one anyway? I got most of the way though installing gazelle using the guide I think you're talking about. Some of the recent versions of the required dependencies make it break so I have to go and find the versions that were available when the guide was written. And OT's version is nearly perfect for the kind of website I want to run already.
I seriously hope you hired somebody to audit all the code because the last time I checked there was at least one not-so-obvious backdoor put by spaghetti.

Users have proven time and time again that they are incapable of assessing the competency of staff and will happily put their private information in the hands of people who have no idea what they're doing so long as they get some neat content in return. The private information of these users is put in danger because the barrier of entry to starting a tracker is already far too low. I will not go out of my way to make it lower.
If you are a competent developer who will be able to do things well, prove it by figuring out how to install gazelle without my handholding. If you are not competent and can't do it without me, then I won't help you because I don't want you running a tracker.

That being said, if you can get things working and can show me that you do know what you're doing, I'll happily help you out with some of the stupid pitfalls in gazelle instead of making you slog through them yourself. I've helped out a few aspiring admins in #gazelle-support on OT's irc in the past, but shooed a fair many more away with a recommendation to stop trying. If you think you really do know what you're doing, you're welcome to hang out in there and ask me questions about stupid gazelle hiccups.
