What phrases do you hate in the English language?
>and all that jazz
>pretty much
>being an american,...
>I know, right?
>just sayin'
What phrases do you hate in the English language?
>Gobalty goop
>pretty ugly
>that's just ignorant
>implying
anything southern
I fucking hate it when people say
>It's one of those things where it's like...
Maybe because my ex used to say it all the time. But that's pure speculation.
>HEY WHATSH UP Y'ALL *HORSE TEETH SMACK*
>screw the south
>let them eat cake
>YOU KNOW WHAT I'M SAYING
Must be fun being a foreigner and having to learn the meaning behind all the English idioms we use daily... lol
>Of course
>lets see what x brings to the table
I hate the way people speak on reddit. It literally makes me mad. Something about trying to sound educated n shit
im not even memeing. living down here is hell enough, but having to interact with the people is another level of insanity. I just had a discussion about ISIS and how we should deal with it and the only answers they could come up with was "nuke em". These people are not the brightest.
any informal english that Australians use
>like um.. like, like, like, like
I fucking hate this thing that plebs do now which is to use the word 'ignorant' to mean 'rude'
How the fuck did this come about?
>y'all
>reckon
>gosh
I find it interesting how every language has their version of um, French "people" say euuuuuhhh instead for example
>Are you a fag because you're wearing that skirt?
>Fag: Your'e so ignorant. I'm wearing a kilt.
It makes sense. You're just an idiot taking words out of context.
Foreigners love to pick this habit up as well because they think it makes them sound more authentic.
>y'all
What's wrong with this? It's an attempt to better the simplified English
No, I've heard it used specifically to mean rude
>I hate the way people speak on reddit.
This. Those poor fuckers can't live without pun threads.
You do realize that , right?
>and all that jazz
Nobody around here has said that since like 1981.
YES, I hate this. this is done so often on here
> the only answers they could come up with was "nuke em"
why is that an unreasonable course of action?
>said
as in:
I picked up a box, then moved said box to the other side of the other box. Said box then exploded.
Just say "the," quit trying to sound different
t. Southern hick
Imagine being 19 again
Nuclear aftermath. Resources and history destroyed
>proving his point
>yfw literally and seriously basically mean the same thing now
The word "ya'll"
delete this
"Literally" has been butchered so hard it's turned into a meaningless word.
Literally meaningless.
so basically what happened anyway...
seriously, why is deploying a low yield nuclear device against some isis stronghold so unfathomable?
>well TECHNICALLY
Why not use conventional bombs you stupid American?
I myself saw 'and all that jazz' here on Sup Forums several days ago.
>that's just your opinion
>that's judgemental
>ignorant
>bigot
>literally
>I could care less
>Am I the only one, who...
YOU
ARE
NOT
Nothing! I said nothing!
what the fuck is pissing out of there?
This happened alot when i was living in southwest queensland and it's
>G'day user! whaddya know?
How do you want me to fucking respond to that??
I KNOW NOTHING!
>Oh, ya know, just hangin' out. How about you, mate?
>bias instead of biased
>toxic
>problematic
Shitposting on leddit was a mistake.
(t b h) to be honest
"their, there and they're"
"your, you're"
I often see these mistakes by natives.
>lad
>mate
>banter
>mum
That usually comes in two categories, people who don't give a fuck about grammatical correctness on the internet or people who actually never learned the difference and just use whatever they feel like because it sounds the same.
>people who don't give a fuck about grammatical correctness
This category is smaller than you think. At least when it comes to Americans as a lot of us don't actually know.
>people on the internet saying seppuku
Cringe
lmao sudoku yourself fəm.
>zizek: the country
hahaha kys my man
PURE IDEOLOGY or death, my friend.
crikey
Yeah it can be replaced with "the" or "this"/"that" in basically all cases and will actually sound better for it. Definitely annoys me more than it should.
Also phrases like "cautiously optimistic" annoy me because it doesn't seem like a natural way to speak but rather something you learn from the TV and reddit pseudo-intellectuals nowadays.
>patrician
Although it's a good indicator of pretentious middlebrow virgins
whole language
I like patrician desu but only when used ironically. It's one of the best terms to use ironically.
Absolutely. It's just that the word has made Sup Forums un-browsable which really burns me.
>"[noun like hate] is too strong a [noun like word]"
Why can't it be "hate is a too strong word"?
too-adjective-article-noun sounds very very weird to me
>you know...you know...you know
No I don't.
>it's not like [something]
Hold me, lads.
>meaningless
???
it has two definitions right now.
"No"
