Hope it has ( ( ( V-PRO ) ) ) for botnetting networks.

But its going to be $2999 for the 12 core CPU

IS AMT BACKDOOR INCLUDED?

I HOPE SO

>from cubicle in Virginia

For the low low price of $500-$2500 goy shekels.

>i9
>Basically just the next version of i7s with a new name.

Doesn't anyone realize this? Some jackass in a meeting probably mentioned they could milk a few more dollars out of people by just giving it a higher number. If he hadn't said shit it would've just been sold as Yet-Another-i7.

My daily driver is an ARM chromebook so I'm not trying to shillfor AMD either. It just bothers me that this isn't anything new or more powerful.

It's just another slight upgrade except now that it says i9 they can charge even more for it than before.

>i9
GOTTA JEW HARD

>AMD pajeet trying this hard
>I-I'm not a shill!
>44 PCI
>12 cores and 24 threads
>AMD still can't beat this

Stay mad cucklord.

AMD Whitehaven? 16c/32t 44 pcie lanes 4x ddr4 3200? Oy!

>Still superior to any AMD out there.

Uh-oh...

12/24T. DOA.

>112w TDP
>quadcore
HOUSEFIRES

>amd finally releases something competitive
>intel drops there price in half and doubles the cores in the new series
really makes you think

They named the 7640K wrong by mistake.
It's meant to say i5, since it only have 4C/4T.

I wonder if the boards will have M.2 pcie x6.

BETTER TO BURN OUT THAN TO FADE AWAY

>intel cutting its margins in half

Cool dream, Onii-chan

>Intel does it again
They sure did.

Housefire CPUs targeted at special people.

WHAT IS NAPLES.

doesn't matter when they're not priced competitively.

UHHHHHH YEAH I'M GONNA MEGATASK SO FUCKING HARD

>AMD will end up launching their HEDT platform ahead of Intel's
>Intel will get crushed by AMD's 16-cores, barely have a response to the rest of the lineup

Now imagine their regret if AMD prices the 16-cores at ~1500.

Can't wait to compare to the 7920k

Intel is fucked.

fite fite fite

What happened to i8? Are they gonna do a Microsoft and skip one?

>i7-7740k
>112W

>i7-4790k
>88W

w-what?

What happened to i2/i4/i6? This is a dumb question.

...

Superior Intel's 14nm fab goyim.
Bigger number = more power = 302 FPS in Counter Strike at 800x600. Lowly poozen only achieves 280 FPS pfft.

LITERALLY NETBURST 2.0 AHAHAHAHAHAHHAHHAAHAHAH

I suppose Core 2 / Core Quad could be associated with 2 / 4, so intel opted to change the numbers.

Until it is 5Ghz stock and Sup Forums starts to drool.

What number is higher than i9?

wccftech.com/amd-ryzen-9-lineup-threadripper/
Not so fast Shlomo!!

i99

Intel originally chose model codes that corresponded to specific features (Hz, Generation, Tech, #Cores).
Eventually, they decided it wasn't a great idea to do that, but everyone became familiar with this model that had easy increments (1,2,3,4) or only odd increments (2,4,8) being related to a specific feature, they looked into breaking it by using a different pattern, using odd numbers only (3,5,7,9), as it wouldn't be automatically associated with a specific spec of the processor. Instead, it just focused on the tier of the models, simplifying the lineup, making marketing easier and overall not a terrible idea.
Now that it's been so long, we've lost this automatic feature association that the old naming conventions used to bring, so lots of people ask the same question on why it's that way.

comes with free jetfuel

There's hasn't been a 6,8 or 10 core i7 in general release

>Chromebook
Why are you even on Sup Forums?

You try to be ironic, but little do you know about CS and it's importance of 300, or should I say 301FPS.

*64

Wait so is Cannonlake gonna be named i10 or some shit? Since it's 10nm?

>Since it's 10nm?

More like 10minutes before it burns your house down.

16-core i9 when?

...

>i'nein'

better than windows tbqh

i bet faggot OP can't wait to hand over his autismbux to his jew overlords

Aside from the fact that AMD will be releasing a 16-core Zen HEDT CPU for less than the 7920X that will have:

- more cores
- more threads
- higher base clocks
- more L3 cache
- and be cheaper

Skylake-X is DOA, shekelchaser. The second shoah has begun and it's time.for you and your compatriots to GET IN THE OVEN

>i'nein'
heh

you will have to delid it, otherwise it will get so hot it will melt steal beams

4/4 cpu on a x99 chipset. Lolololololololololololol

Holy shit that is amazing. Let's see the Intel slaves defend that.

B-but I want a Cannonlake... I have a i7 920 and I should really overclock it (but I'm too ill at the moment to troubleshoot and don't have cash really). I am saving up for one and would like

I like technology but I prefer things without as much power, things that have batteries that actually last a while.

I also use a dumbphone instead of a smartphone. Technically I'm paying for 8GB of LTE data every month tho so I use my phone as a hotspot for my chromebook and leave my Nexus 6 at home.

I'm also not a programmer, developer or anything. Just an artist who would rather avoid being locked into the google/windows/apple ecosystems.

lol holy shit kaby lake x looks awful

10nm on desktop isn't coming until 2019 at the earliest.

actually they can
Ryzen 9 1998X
-16-core/32-thread
-44 pcie lanes
-Intel still can't beat this

...

>Intel core i9 is coming to destroy AMD AGAIN.
Implying anybody can afford it.

It is a nail in Intels coffin because:
* the market is small
* the market consists of enthusiasts, users who actually look what they buy
* AMD is very competitive in server/rendering/encoding tasks
* AMD will offer 12-16 cores probably around 750-1500

kek saved

They finally adopted the core i9 naming cool

bixed

This is why competition is good. If it wasn't for Ryzen, we would be stuck in 4c/8t for the next 10 years.

Yeh, instead we get 4c/4t.
Great job Intel. Pretty sure the whole point of getting an i7 over an i5 was to have Hyperthreading.

You can't just call your next CPU something else. That makes me angry.

Stick to your Sky Lake and Kaby Lake.

You still have 2300 numbers to go since i7-7700k

How the fuck can you call it i9 and make an i9 without going back all the way down at the 100-900s series.

Why not name them Core4Quad and Core8Octa

>i9
>no ECC
Wew, jew fucks strike again.

ebin :DDD

>1.5x clockrate
>enabling ECC

why would anyone ever do this, just get a xeon

>just get a xeon
I wonder who's behind this post?

>HEDT platform
>4c/4t CPU
>Core "i7"
>likely $250+

get fucked intel

it's cheaper ya nog

...

A comparable Xeon is not going to be cheaper. There's a reason Intel doesn't enable ECC on their i7 (and now i9) processors. Do you think data centers would be buying Xeons over i7s if i7s came with ECC?

>only $2,999
>will still get BTFO by threadripper

Man just wait until Naples hits, Intel is so fucked this year.
They actually fucking did it, after like 6 years?

>quad core, no SMT
>112W
Holy shit

>missed the biggest housefire ITT
as expected of amdrone

DOA

they are completely different usage scenarios

regardless, the low-core xeons are CHEAPER than the comparable i7's, look at the fucking prices

Without a doubt the 12/24 is going to cost over 2k.
10/20 is probably going to cost around the same as the current version.
So unless we see Intel radically cutting their prices, this is a DOA release, because no one can afford these damn things.
I don't think they're suddenly going to come out and price the new 6 core models on the same level as their quads.

>White Power
>Nipples

>the low-core xeons are CHEAPER than the comparable i7's, look at the fucking prices

Wrong group dumbass, those are the 8-socket variants.

>choosing the CPU with 60 FUCKING MBs of cache as a comparison

you are a grade a retard

ark.intel.com/products/97479/Intel-Xeon-Processor-E3-1270-v6-8M-Cache-3_80-GHz

>$328

>E7 Xeon
>comparable in any way to any desktop CPU
jfc just kill yourself already

What do i do with 24 threads?
I hardly use one 100%.

>4 cores, 112w TDP
>10 cores 20 threads, 125w TDP

looks pretty good for AMD desu. Will be interesting to see pricing

Brag and shitpost

In 1977 AMD negotiated a cross license agreement with Intel and released a 8080 compatible CPU
In 1998 AMD released 3DNow! which was their first extension to x86

LITERALLY
