The purpose of this thread is for the lurkers/posters of Sup Forums to find a market for their second hand electronics or computer components. Its a well held belief on Sup Forums that paying for brand new electronics is not worth the price:performance ratio, and because of this I believe that /ghmd/ has a place on Sup Forums.
/ghmd/ follows /fglt/'s example in that it is a friendly environment for requesting items and promoting your own second hand electronics.
As with any new General or maintained thread it's gonna be slow at first, please be patient with them. After a while I'll be able to update the OP with what Sup Forums believes certain components are worth and eventually make a buyers guide for used components.
I want to sell my z170 mobo and 6700k. How much of their original price should I be listing them for?
bought 6700k for $420
bought mobo for $210
thinking of selling at $600 ?
Noah Gray
Considering the 6700k can be bought for $300 USD I wouldn't ask for anything above $270 USD and expect ~$250 on eBay for it. As for the motherboard probably ~$150 $170 USD tops

Did I do gud I know they're shit parts, but paired with 8gb of ram I already have and a gt710 its perfect for shitposting and some games.
Joseph Martinez
Price per GB on the hard drive is pretty high, but besides that if I'd say you did well for the use case you described

Hmm, I'm kinda sad that this thread doesnt have more participants, I would have though with how often Sup Forums seems to upgrade their computers they'd have more stuff to sell, oh well.
Nathan Martin
Cool thread opie
Charles Fisher
just bump it
Asher Morgan
As someone who's bought shit straight from someone on Sup Forums, I approve of this thread.

Why would the discussion of technology price points and performance to price ratios be a do it yourself thread.
Asher Baker
I'm only gonna bump once since I think threads should be allowed to die naturally, maybe I'll try again in a few days with a better pic and OP
Jose Fisher
I think it's fair to bump for at least 24 hours since this is an attempted general and not a discussion thread. most threads are bait that generate an explosion of replies and then die off. generals rely on a community, and that's not going to happen all at once.
Ryder Nelson
Alright, I'll try try to keep it bumped every three hours or so with relevant changes to the OP. How do people feel about me taking recently sold prices from ebay of some of Sup Forums's favorite components/itmes for a pastebin? It'd be cool for people who want this thread to be a thing to bump by posting pc components/items they would buy used/think are still relevant
i.e. the 2500k seems to get a lot of praise around Sup Forums
there are a lot of hard drives for sale on ebay, etc
Isaac Davis
It's 11:30 pm where I live and I've got end of course exams tomorrow, so if someone else wants to keep this alive while I sleep that'd be cool, if not, Ill try to update the OP and try again tomorrow, thanks for the support guys, seems like this could be a succesful general with the right amount of upkeep and care.

I still have a Pentium G 645 for sale, what is it worth? I started at 20 € and now demand 12.5 €.
I'm from Germany.
Also, what is a Hitachi HUA720 1 TB (Ultrastar) and my ASUS 560 Ti DCII worth?
Kevin Anderson
Did you wipe completely the hard drive?
Andrew Jones
A pastebin would be nice, however that requires a contribution from some major countries. Me talking about how expensive shit is in Estonia won't help anyone.
