Well e-sports games are popular so this technically is a gaming card since it can play stuff like LoL or Rocket Cars.

THANK YOU BASED NVIDIA

It's even weaker than an RX 550 which is already pretty useless.

wow, it's like a card from the 90s but pcie instead of agp

It's pretty much integrated graphics for people who don't have integrated graphics

This is only useful for SFF PCs with shit PSUs that can barely handle CPU+GPU+HDD without shitting the bed. Or CPUs with no integrated GPU.

What's the point of a card like this when a 1050 can be slapped in any given PCIE slot?

Not just slightly weaker either.

No one understand that this card is just a cheap way to get dual display and have twice the performance of intel integrated. Also a good choice for HTPC, only 30 Watt TDP.

It's going to depend on price, if it's under $70 USD then it's not a bad choice.

>if it's under $70 USD
Its not.
It's also less than 1/2 the speed of the similarly priced RX 550.

You can also use it for virtual pass-through. Get them VMs some hardware acceleration.

>virtual pass-through
>Nvidia

LOL NO

im thinking about unironically buying this card to replace my oldass asus 8500gt. should i fall for this meme?

gonna be honest i thought it was going to be DX9 or some shit

At least go for the RX550, I think it's $10 more expensive at most.

i have a Voodoo 2 somewhere in a box

maybe, but is cheaper and the 1030 seems to use less power than the rx550. i'm not entirely sure which to buy desu

Unless your PSU is sub-300 watts or your CPU uses over 65 watts, you'll be fine.

hmmm single slot and low profile. need that for a 2u box i'm building

>Accelerate your entire PC experience with the fast, powerful NVIDIA® GeForce® GT 1030 graphics card. Its award-winning NVIDIA Pascal™ architecture, powerful graphics engine, and state-of-the-art technologies give you the performance upgrade you need to drive today’s most demanding PC applications.

>1030

LMAO, gotta love marketing babble

d'aww its kinda cute

got it working perfectly here, HD 7xxx on host and passed GTX 970 passed into a Windows VM

Ew its all long and shit
I want one that's pcie x8 or smaller
Something of this tier of performance shouldn't even need x4 let alone x16

Why? Is it for 4k streaming machine or something?

I just sold my 7770 for $60 CAD and nVidia found a way to sell 7770s for $70 US

>Not paying $100+ CDN for GEFARCE EXPIRATION DATE telemetry edition

Any game benchmarks out there? Want to see how this bad boy holds up against RX 550.

>put 1030 on Z270 benchmark rig
>load ashes of singularity
>1fps

How does it performs for playing 1080p@60fps and 2k videos?

I am planning to buy one for that task only, I dont CAD, edit video or play any video games, so I just wanna spend the necessary amount of money.

Here you go xDDDDDDDD

Is this some meme?

Is this one any better?

Embarrassing

>rick and morty
kys

>kys

after you

Does it work better the other way with Nvidia on the host or what?

Actually as far as shaders go, it's a bit more powerful than the GTX 460. The limitations from what I can tell are going to be in the ROP and memory bandwidth department.

GTX 460 has, I believe and I'm not gonna bother to check, 2x the number of ROPs and 2x memory bandwidth.

Believe it or not, this crappy GT 1030 and RX 550 will sell better than any GTX 1080 Ti or RX 580.

Why?

Because these graphics cards are targeted for countries with crap economy (3rd world OR poor countries) and are sold in budget PCs (sometimes even in "gaming" PCs). Its new and affordable and no matter how much we make fun out them for their performance, there is a huge market for this kinds of GPUs.

Quantity over quality.

so this is 750Ti performance or lower?

Way lower.

Haven't these cards just been rebadges all the way since the 8400 GS?

>tfw these piece of shit cards under the x50 are still selling despite having the worst price/performance ratio after the high end cards

I think the RX 550 doesn't have that bad price/performance, it's pretty much 750 ti for $85.

No, the GT 1030 is actually Pascal this time around. GT 730 was Fermi(lol) and later model of it was Kepler I think.

This makes the 550 look a lot better

2x 2 fps holy shit guys 4FPS!

They have shit margins though.

>Someone actually spent time making this

Cringe

-cpu host,kvm=off,hv_time,hv_relaxed,hv_vapic,hv_spinlocks=0x1fff,hv_vendor_id=nvidiabloxx"

it's not a bad choice if you were otherwise going to use integrated shit - reclaim a bunch of system ram and get nvidia's hardware video codec support

i wish someone would bring out an x1 or x4 card for one of these gutless wonder gpus

save my x16 slots for other cards

i get its meant as a 730 replacement probably just for post, but still its a terrible choice because the 550 exsists.

>30W draw
Actually really nice. I may buy one to toss on my machine. I had a 460 that met my needs, but it Fermi'd out a while back.

Just having support for video decoding, Vulkan and modern OpenGL extensions is good enough for me, as I mostly just emulate games using software rendering and watch video.

gonna use this for my host, run my other card to the VM.

That is official though.

>kvm=off

enjoy your reduced virtual CPU performance

Would be good for new 13 inch laptops.

i have a ryzen system with gtx 1070. do you think putting this card into the second x16 would work for VM passthrough for gtx1070?

gefarce.com/hardware/desktop-gpus/gefarce-gt-1030

Its a joke of graphics card, mostly becausse of its price.

youtube.com/watch?v=KEqAvQ7mSNg

Wrong, it's the cheapest way to add DisplayPort 1.4 & HDMI 2.0b since Intel doesn't support either yet, not even in Kaby Lake

Also full fixed function 8K HEVC Main10/12 hardware decoding & 8K VP9 hardware decoding, neither of which AYYMD can support

Forget 1080p.

this card beats all mid range and some high end from 2010-2011 era

guess its time to upgrade

But will they make more profit is question, quantity doesn't matter if it makes no money

>kvm=off

Will this card be good for just 4k/hdr content?

Will it beat this?

I'd hit it, with a stick.

>2x faster than Intel IGPU
What the fuck

GT 1040 would make more sense for this price than this crap.

2Gb vram is alright at this price point but entry level graphics card in my opinion should provide smooth media playback & run current-gen games at low quality at min 30 fps without any problems.

This is just nVidia being a jew.

What's the point? AMD has 11CU mobile APUs coming with as much performance as this and Intel iGPUs aren't going to get slower either.

Ryzen doesn't have an igpu though which massively sucks because I'm not building a gaming PC, so it's this or a 550 for me

Unironically wait for the GT 1040.

...

If it's worse than the RX 550 which is at GTX 750 Level, this 1030 is prolly around the GTX 650 or 650 Ti.

Somewhere inbetween the two.

Best off buying a used GPU or spending a little more than getting the GT 1030. You are not getting what you pay for with those lower end cards. For just a little more you can get a RX 460/560 or a GTX 1050 or a older GTX 950. But it is your money. That is the beauty of capitalism. You can get what you want.

>twice the performance of Intel HD
doubt.jpg

This.
You have single slot 1050ti's and mini 1050's. A 1030 is retarded imo.

>gutless wonder

nobody with an 8k setup would buy this card anyway. so those features are completely pointless to 99.99% of users.
