Is 4Gb enough to run modern 3D programs like Zbrush and Maya?
Looking in to getting a cheap tablet to work outside or away from my PC while it is rendering.

Isn't that enough to upgrade to 16 or even 32? Two sticks of 8 GB Corsair LPX DDR4 are below 150 dollars. 4 GB seems very little for Maya and Zbrush.

I'm going to dualboot Windows and Linux, with each of them getting their own drive. Which file system should I use for Linux (most likely a Debian derivative) and will WIndows be able to see the Linux drive (I'd rather if it couldn't)?

It can see the drive but can't read the files, It can read the files if you install the special ext drivers.

It may or may not list the linux in my computer thingie. If it does, you may hide it.

literally plug the new drive into your mobo and your computer will recognize it. Then you can choose which drive you wanna save shit in, you can even reorganize

I also forgot to mention that you'll have to go into your BIOS and make sure the boot order is still correct after plugging the new one in, i.e make sure the drive with your OS boots first

Save and buy a GTX 1050 if you plan to play 2k or high bitrate videos.

you have probably a 1/10 chance of putting it back together and not having issues.

issue 1 : you need a torque driver for the screws, they need to be perfectly tightened at a specific torque.

issue 2 : the inside of a hard drive is like a cleanroom area, you don't want even a speck of dust in there or you can get all sorts of issues

without OC your 710 simply wont run 1080p@60, even on ultra low settings. it can barely even pull off 720p@60 on ultra low.

Get a 900 series if you wanna run 1080p smoothly, anything higher will require a 1000 series.

pretty much, but you could keep sddm and just remove plasma, then use a different window manager. SDDM will detect whats install and let you choose which window manager you want to use.

I for the first time in years am worried I might have a virus. First things first I'm running windows 10, yes I know it sucks, I only use it for games and porn. I was on an unscrupulous porn site and a pop up different than the usual appeared. It was one of those obviously fake 'Microsoft/Google security warning' things but the next thing I know there was one of those notifications in the bottom right of my screen saying windows defender had detected malware and removed it, along with the notification sound and everything. That panicked me enough that I just shut off my computer via the power button and turned it on a few minutes after.

Everything seems hunky dory now and I dont even see anything out of the usual in task manager. Now my question is: is it possible to fake those little windows defender notifications? Or was it the real deal? I'm by no means a windows power user so I'm unsure how to proceed.
