Reading books, occasionally. Also, when I want a bigger screen than my phone but don't want to sit at my desktop. My tablet is an old Tab Pro 8.4 with Cyanogenmod on it.

to get high, user

Reading comics and manga. Phone screen is tiny and it's uncomfortable on the PC.

We use them as POS at my work.

very kind of them to provide a nice surface to crush those drugs on

Porn and shitposting from the couch

It's for pleb tier media consuming, like youtube/netflix
Real niggas have NAS connected TBs of furry porn and use RPI to cast it on their premium TV

I use my ipad mini first gen solely as an ebook reader. I'm considering buying a Kindle - but it it doesn't look comfy from the pictures.

Some advice please?

no they are useless besides browing facebook

Whats the best tablet for reading ebooks?

I use a tablet for the sole purpose of reading comic scans. It's basically the exact thing i dreamed of since I was a child.

Get the Kindle Paperwhite, it's legitimately the best way to read ebooks.

Just use your iPad.

Galaxy Tab S3

I want to get a cheap tablet for this purpose, any recommendations?

I have a Fire HD 8.

Last night I used it in bed to surf here and /fit/, jacked off to /gif/ webm then I watched the Amazon Oasis pilot.

Ipad gen 3 is probably best value right now, for under 100 bucks you get a genuinely good screen quality which is essential for scans. Anything else at a comparable price point is going to be some garbage resolution chinkshit.

I have an iPad Air 2 for app development. It's lovely, and I use it for reading and browsing sometimes, but I could never have justified buying it for personal use. Maybe if I had a public transport commute or flew frequently.

have one wall mounted above my monitors, for kodi or music stuff whilst im lurking

I use my tablet every day, several times a day.
It's not my main machine but perching even a laptop on my lap while I'm on the couch is a pain. It's very handy for looking up stuff while I'm watching TV. Or even finding the TV programs.
I have an old iPod Touch plugged into a Philips speaker dock and stream music via web radio stations all day.
Every morning, while I have breakfast, I play word games to jump-start the grey cells. Also builds vocabulary.
My gf has a book seat to hold her iPadMini while she watches TV and/or movies in bed. Streaming music and or video from the web is what consumes most of its time during the day.
Just so convenient.

>Tab pro 8.4
mah neejer... you might be interested to know your tablet is supported by LineageOS. download.lineageos.org/mondrianwifi

I bought one for my elderly mother. Now it lays on her desk and nobody uses it.

Yes. Videos, and web browsing mostly.

Manga, movies, anime, visual novels, Sup Forums

I fell for the iPad pro meme and love it. I haven't found anything I couldn't do it that I was doing on my laptop.

Usually for reading books, solving math problems in a note taking app and using as a bigger replacement of my iPhone when I'm home connected to my network.

i never really saw a need for a tablet when netbooks existed in the first place.

But after seeing pic related i've become a bit interested in picking up a Pixel C just to toy around with.

Lightsurfing, watching videos

If you buy the kindle, the ipad wont disappear.
But keep in mind that the kindle dosn't handle pdf's well.

I have a nexus 7. It was cool for a while I just use it for light browsing and pr0n. I like to jerk it to a bigger screen.

My tech-illiterate mom uses one as a Youtube machine

It's a superior version of a smartphone except it doesn't receive any phone calls. My old Nokia does all the phone work for me.

I'm using it right now to make this post, pretty damn useful since my laptop finally died on me, I mostly use it for YouTube and Sup Forums, some games and the occasional late night fap session.

Nook HD 7" here. It's a nice piece of hardware for $50 or whatever the current going rate is. I use it mainly for web browsing in bed or on the couch. I also use a few apps.

Reading manga, YouTube, browsing while laying down, and generally being able to let my phone charge while at home instead if constantly unplugging and replugging whenever i need to move.

I've got two, they just sit behind my desk running BOINC

Only normies.

Never saw the need for one until I got a Shield for my birthday. TV/movies/porn, browsing, games/emulation, and especially reading are just that much more convenient.

No way in hell am I going back to sitting hunched up in a computer chair to read comics.

Cheap 10" tablet that I can put my sim card in?

Just going to be using it to read comics so cheap is what I'm aiming for.

Reading books and Manga mostly.

reading news with Palabre

>that I can put my sim card in?
for what reason

>Reading comics and manga

How well does e-ink do with this?

My wife and I use my iPad Air 2 to watch stuff in bed.

I use it on flights when I don't get exit row or business to work on non-programming docs. I use omnigraffle for diagrams, OmniPlan for project plans, pages for writing docs, keynote for presentations. Then after the flight I touch them up on my laptop.

Sometimes I have to use Termius to ssh into my servers if I don't have my laptop with me.

Basically it's my light laptop but without a development IDE plus a way to consume media.

I bought an iPad for my Chinese immigrant father-in-law. He's in his 80s and uses it all day every day to watch annoying Chinese YouTube videos and to Skype everyone in the family.

Your mother is probably disappointed in you because you didn't get her an iPad.

do hybrids/transformer books count as tablets?

I bought a Windows hybrid to read hentai VNs and play old games, also read books and shitpost in bed

porn ,ebooks and mobile game trash.

I went from a first gen iPad Mini to the Mi Pad 2 but I'm starting to realize that there's almost no point in having a tablet that's smaller than 10 inches if you have a phone that's 5.5 inches. 8 inch tablets make more sense if you have a smaller phone but I really don't have any use for my tablet any more, it's too small for productivity but barely big enough to warrant using over my phone.

There's really no point in getting an Android tablet at this point when you can get a 2 in 1 Chromebook that can run Android apps, because Chromebooks is infinitely better for both productivity since you have a keyboard and trackpad and media consumption since you have a bigger screen.

this

I have an Nvidia Shield tablet. I use it to play Baldur's Gate on the train on the way to work & I read some Chinese comics on it using MangaRock. Plus the usual shit like email, online banking, etc. - and I make lists of things to do in OneNote that I never get round to doing.

I'm quite happy without a windows PC.

Watching cute girls anytime anywhere

Retail employee here.

When old people come in looking for a laptop, every fucking time it's "Oh, I only pay my bills and browse the internet," and then they look at the 300 dollar laptops that are slow as fuck and break in a year.

I'm not a fan of Apple, but for 330 bucks if you just want to pay your bills and browse the internet, an iPad is going to last a lot longer, and I think the design is easier for old people to grasp.

I use mine for browsing while I take a shit. Can take me 30 minutes to 5 hours at a time, so the tablet is necessary for maintaining my sanity.

Does it matter for an ebook reader if it's bigger or smaller?

the price is a lot more.

I use a surface pro 3 for work. It's technically a tablet.

I use it for whatever you'd use a laptop for.
