Thoughts on this build?
My friend is looking to get it. The price point is right, and he's not very comfortable building his own PC by hand.

cyberpowerpc.com/system/Gamer-Infinity-XLC

Best budget case?

Not too bad. You could tweak it in a few areas if you were building it yourself, but it's basically equivalent to this build:
pcpartpicker.com/user/pcbg/saved/2BgJxr
Only buy that if you've got a high refresh rate 1440p or 4K monitor

Unfortunately I don't know too much about cases, but I would suggest something without many drive bays and in the minitower form factor, like this
newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811235054

Some other differences between the pcbg pcpartpicker build that I posted and that powerpc is that the power PC only has 8GB of RAM and doesn't have decent SSD. All in all you're overpaying by about $400 on raw performance

>You can't claim that a 15% more powerful card can run 1440p as good as a 15% less powerful card runs 1080p, retard
No such claim is made, retard. Don't comment if you can't read.

How do I clean the dust out of a desktop case with minimal mess if I don't have a backyard to take it to?

wtf is going on? im getting a terrible whine from the computer whenever i do ANYTHING, moving the mouse, watching numbers change, typing letters. if i scroll quickly it sounds like some sort of sparking is happening.

is it the cpu? i have a ssd so i dont think thats it. it stops if i dont do anything on the computer

I quoted the claims, stupid. Don't comment if you're blind.

Also if you're so stupid that you think just because 1440p has 77% more pixels that it takes precisely 77% more power for equal rendering performance, you may as well kill yourself now as you're too stupid to ever succeed at anything in life.
That's only sort of true when it comes to screenspace shaders, which are almost under utilized at 1080p anyway so not even true then.
You have absolutely no fucking clue how rendering and GPUs work, so don't shit up pcbg with your ignorance. I'm pretty sure you're as well.

build is ryzen 5 1600, x370 asus mobo, msi rx 570 armor, samsung 850 evo ssd, seagate 2tb hdd, two included fans on the case, stock fan and cooler on the processor.

You don't know where the whine is coming from? Don't you have ears?

Pull the PSU out of the case to isolate it better and see if it's coming from it. It likely is. It could be the GPU as well. I've never heard of CPUs whining.

>Also if you're so stupid that you think just because 1440p has 77% more pixels that it takes precisely 77% more power for equal rendering performance
I never said "precisely" or anything close to that. Nice strawman / trumped up claims, shithead. The point still stands. There's a huge difference in raw power required to drive 1440p. The 15% raw performance jump between the 570 and 580 won't cut it for anyone who just spent $250 - $600 on a 1440p monitor.

1440p starts with the GTX1070. Get over it, fanboy. When Vega drops the situation will likely change, but not until then.

Noctua NH-U12S enough for OC housefirelake i7 or should I get the NH-D15?

Get the D15 or something close to it.

is there a guide somewhere that lists what things to disable on a new install of windows 10?

hey guys i might pull the trigger on this any second. what do you guys think? I will be playing on a 1440p 144hz 27 inch monitor.

I just updated ram and video card. What do you guys think?

I'd drop the HDD and just get a 1TB SSD unless you know you need over 1TB of storage near term.
They're on sale for $200-$250 often.

>Throwing a 1080 with a 1600
>Buying a $600 monitor instead of putting it towards your computer

Need aftermarket cooler
Not sure that RAM will work at its rated speed. Report back with your experience

1440 monitors at 144hz aren't cheap.

What's the point of having good PC hardware if you can't actually see how good it looks?

REMINDER
This particular OP is a shill.
The parts recommended in the links are not of Sup Forums's opinion.
>VR minimum 1050ti
No way in hell would we ever recommend that to you.
There isn't even a 1600 build that has been highly recommended, as proven via previous threads.
Beware the Jew.

REMINDER: This mentally handcapp.. I mean capable NEET is particularly assblasted

Every one of the 1500X builds has a note that suggests an upgrade to the 1600 with an aftermarket cooler

It's not as bad as it was before.

1050Ti VR minimum is similar to RX580 as 1440p minimum.
Yeah it won't work on all VR games maxed, but it will work in a pinch.

And regarding the "Absolute Minimum Specs" VR build, not everyone uses HMDs for gayming

>tfw you fell for the gsync meme and also bought a 1080
If Vega actually holds up I'm selling everything

Okay guys, so I built my rig and flip the power supply to "I" but nothing happens when I turn it on.

Did I fuck up the motherboard or something?

Did you connect the case's button wiring to the mobo?

I'm assuming it was the small wiring that said powerswitch, HDD Led, plus minus bs? Yes I did.

No fans are moving either. Not even the PSU...

Did I fry the mobo?

Pull it. You're only going to dupe people into buying shit they'll regret.
And you recommendations being controlled only by you are is major issue.
Just write out additional header posts to accompany the OP.
Parts only. No brands. Unless there is valid reason for mentioning it. Other than price.
Such as:
Known issues
Performance of cooler. Mention alternatives to noctua due to it's massive price almost being the same as AIO's. And only just out preforming them by a DB or two, and a degree or three.
Best cooling cards, regardless of price, for overclocking.
Amount of VRMs on Mobo's. Point of redundancy is around 6 for AM4. May need more if you plan for APU's.
(note there's one board that looks like 6 phase but is actually 3)
And all that glorious shit.

Shouldn't be the case if you grounded yourself before hand. Did the mobo lights ever turn on when you connected the wiring from the PSU?

Same thing happened to me and it was because of these little fuckers, the small wiring things. Replug them in, try different orders, etc.

No lights turned on but I'll try replugging

It's possible the connections aren't pushed all the way in. Try pushing everything a little harder and if that doesn't work then try replugging things around.

Nada. Nothing's changed. No lights, no fans...

Search youtube for how to test PSU

What about the plug from the PSU? I might be unlucky but generally my plugs are fucking loose and I need to move them around to make sure the contact is good. To put it into perspective, if I'd move my case around right now you can be sure the PSU would shut down.

Are you 100% sure these little things are correctly plugged in as they should? Have you tried different combinations?

I haven't tried different combinations but I know for a 100% fact I'm plugging them in according to the manual.

Will try this.

If nothing works, take a picture and maybe we can see what's fucked.

Anyone have a build for 600$ mainly RTS dont need ultra or anytbing something that runs and is easy to upgrade. I have no idea how to do this myself so I'm asking for a build to start to learn

hey guys i'm about to pull the trigger.
pairing this up with a ViewSonic XG2401 144hz monitor. Tell me what you think.

Everyone pretty much says that anything over 8gb of ram is pretty much useless unless you want to do some pretty heavy rendering or video editing, but as I'm looking at ram options it seems like I'm pretty much going out of my way to find 8gb options and that almost all 16gb options are just better value in terms of $/gb.

Unless there's some super secret appropriately cheap 8gb sticks I'm just somehow missing should I just go for 16gb? What I'm looking at is only like 30$ish more than the best 8gb options I'm seeing anyway.

Well there be a noticeable difference with cas16 3200mhz ram vs cas14 3200mhz ram?

On an i7? Yes they're more latency sensitive. On Ryzen? No it cares more about speed and latency doesn't matter much. Maybe 1fps.

>pcpartpicker.com/list/tHdF9W
Something along the lines of this will get you started for $600. The 1050ti will last maybe 2 years before you consider upgrading while the 1600 should last 3-4 years since games will take advantage of more cores. Choose whatever case you like.

You can get a windows key for $20 by following youtube.com/watch?v=yXTqz3Fd28M

If you feel you want 16 get it.
Never know if you start editing or using a virtualizer.

Or you can download toolkit at MDL and get it for free

16GB would honestly be better in the long run. I have 8GB and recently I got Ghost Wildlands for free and I noticed it uses about 5.5-6GB of ram at times. Games in the future are probably gonna be pushing more ram usage so you might as well get it if it's in your budget.

I really don't know who says that.

/pcbg/ for months has recommended 16gb as the standard, and only 8gb for budget.

I tried the paper clip test and the fan is not powering on.

So the fucking PSU is busted.
THANK GOD.

What brand PSU?

pcpartpicker.com/product/DPCwrH/seasonic-power-supply-ssr550rm

>seasonic
>psu failure
you did something to it

What could I have done that would cause it to fail?

Did you turn on the on switch, on the psu?

If you have the extra case just get 16GB, especially if you're getting a platform that will last a while, like AM4.

Of course.

>case
Meant cash

so you didn't give up on putting your shitty fucking OP huh?
it'll go away next thread just as always

someone please rate my build.

Good AMD processor for an R5 build? Just want 60 frames in Overwatch

you could go for an R5 1400 but it's pretty cost inefficient, i'd recommend going r5 1500x instead.

Looking for a GPU not CPU just mentioned the R5 to mention the build I'm making

This.
A single user controlling what's listed is not a good thing.
And if you're going to contribute you need to do it fully and openly, Having off site resources that are locked behind a password for modification is not helping anyone. There's nothing different than what was listed in previous threads, minus the VR rec that is utter dog shit. And the 'obfuscation of upgrade paths.

You're only trying to gain some sort of power by doing this OP.
You're a massive faggot in doing so.

can't we get a mod to make him fuck off or something

You said AMD processor, not GPU
Anyway, a GTX 1050ti would give you over 60 frames in overwatch without any problem. You could up that to an RX 470/570 but those are for 1080p AAA, so quite overkill. You could downgrade it to an RX 460/560, but they both get outperformed by the GTX 1050 at around the same price.

>obfuscation
There's no obfuscation, retard. That implies some kind of intention. If you're too stupid to find the Description you don't need to be posting.

>Having off site resources that are locked behind a password for modification is not helping anyone
It helps the all the anons in the thread because they don't have to deal with retards posting shitty opinions in the OP, like that the 580 is a good card for 1440p.

Have fun sweating over this thread, NEET.

Looks good but just so you know, that RX 580 isn't be able to achieve a 144fps in AAAs and the R5 1600 is going to hover around 130fps. It'll do great but for 144hz build, a 7700k + GTX 1070 is usually the best choice.

>Have fun sweating over this thread, NEET.
You say that but the last 3 - 4 threads you autistically kept posting "I'll own this thread..." "One day i'll make the OP and you'll finally know my true power..." and other autistic shit.
You're the one being obsessed over this even though everyone disagrees with you.

RX570 will do 144 on "high" settings in OW, and around 100 maxed. An RX560 or 1050Ti should do that on low or so. Not sure exactly.

>everyone
Just you and the other few autists who can't stand being repeatedly shown up.

>you autistically kept posting "I'll own this thread..." "One day i'll make the OP and you'll finally know my true power..."
Having fun writing your fanfiction?

>Have fun sweating over this thread, NEET.
This line gives you away. You keep calling everyone that disagrees with anything and everything you've done that.
You give no heed to the information they are conveying to you. All you're here to do is push 144hz 1080p for some autistic reason.
>hurr durr not me
Interesting enough, when you're around that faggot is too.
You are obfuscating, every damn step of the way. At first you samefaged hard as a motherfucker, trying to fake support for your cause, to no avail.
Even hiding behind you oculas rift min specs.
You are dodgy as fuck. And no one wants you here because of it.
You're unwilling to listen, only here to shill what you want. You're egotistical and a liar.
Plain old no good.
You can fuck off now.

will the igpu handle a 4k monitor?

Will the IGPU on the pentium g4560 handle a 4k monitor?
no gayman.

>Oh it's nothing, just a few people telling me to fuck off while i'm the only one that wants this OP =)
>It's not like PCBG has a low amount of regular and most of the people in there are newcomers or anything. It's not like it's the same regulars that are telling me to fuck off =)

I'm mainly going to be playing WoW. But 130fps is pretty good.

By all accounts yes.
if you need HDMI 2.0 output you'll need to get a motherboard with DisplayPort out + an active DisplayPort to HDMI 2.0 converter dongle

>All you're here to do is push 144hz 1080p for some autistic reason.
How the fuck did you come to that conclusion?

Just shut up now.

Yep.

It's basically just this guy or some similar retard who can't find the shift key. Also I can barely tell what you're trying to say. Ask yourself: why would newcomers even care about an OP?

pcpartpicker.com/list/

is a 650 going to be ok or should i go for a larger psu?

you didn't post the proper link

>Just shut up now.
>LALALALALA I CAN'T HEAR YOU
>I'M RIGHT, YOU'RE WRONG NOTHING TO SEE HERE. NO ALTERNATIVE MOTIVE

pcpartpicker.com/list/VFsmpb

sorry

>posts unsubstantiated claims
>greentexts when called out
I'm better than you at meem-arrows

>It's basically just this guy or some similar retard who can't find the shift key.
There's at least four that's against you, going by IP counts. And only you supporting your motives.
I've seen this going on a few times now, with 4chanX it marks when a new IP enters the thread.
Given everything that's been said, they have all the reason to get up your arse. You are the one in the wrong. No one is going to defend you. Not because they can't, but because you're in the wrong.

I have a 6600k and im in need of a new graphics card. I was planning on getting the 1070. Is there any reason I should get the 1080, if I don't mind spending a little more?

Get 3000MHz RAM
I'd suggest an air cooler

What's your resolution? Spend the extra on a 1440p monitor if you don't have one

I currently have a VG248QE. So I should get the 1080 only after I get a better monitor? and get the 1070, if I dont plan to upgrade my monitor?

Your IP theories are stupid. You're right in that there are three or four butthurt people in this thread though

Correct.

Hold on that for two weeks. Vega should release and force price drops/be a better card for you.

Vega might be better for 1440p.. I doubt that it will "win" at 1080p. Kinda like Ryzen vs i7 7700K for 1080p.

Having said that, certainly nothing wrong with waiting to find out.

Any links on the release date for consumer cards?

Are there any good GPUs between (in terms of price) the 1060/RX 480 and the 1070?

Good? Unfortunately no. Don't believe anyone who suggests the Fury. You could grab a 980Ti used, but I'm not sure what those are going for. And it's pretty old tech by Nvidia standards.

I just bought this. Someone rate my life.

Still need that aftermarket cooler for the 1600.

To answer my own question, currytech says that Vega will be coming late June. Reviews don't land until the cards do (basically), so we're still a month and change out from launch, and no telling about availability.

sticking with the stock cooler then upgrading later on.
