What's the slowest computer you've ever owned and how much did it cost?
What's the slowest computer you've ever owned and how much did it cost?
Atari 800
My dad gave it to me when I was four
Apple //c ?
I owned a netbook with an N270 that was pretty fucking slow.
An Aspire One netbook from like 2010 or so.
Free since some bitch left it at my house after we fucked and never asked for it back.
celeron d from like 2005 on a hp pavilion.
fucking sucked.
Had a few of these bad boys in my elementary school.
When i was in second grade...
In 2003...
Not a wealthy school.
Personally owned though, when i was maybe 10 i was given our MicronPC Clientpro 325, which was actually a pretty baller machine even at the time. With a 2.4ghz Pentium 4, 512mb of ram, two 40gb hard drives, one of the Geforce 2 variants, a CD reader and two, thats right, TWO CD BURNERS
it was my dads limewire box and he left all his porn on it so i was a happy lad
It was a good machine and lasted me well into around 2010 actually, it was my Runescape machine the whole time. It had a few upgrades here and there including a new power supply after the one in there blew up, a P4 Extreme edition, another 512mb of ram and later a Geforce 3
ive still got the micronPC logo with a hole through it as a keychain
forgot the danm picture
this is what my school had in 2003
a vic 20
it was the thing that the commodore 64 replaced
27" iMac. I hate that piece of shit.
Samsung Chromebook Series 1. Could barely load Youtube and then only in 240p.
I had one of those Vista Basic laptops the day Vista was released. It was the slowest piece of shit I ever used. People don't realize just how shitty Vista was before the service packs.
I had this too. It was miles better than my Vista laptop.
Some free-licence free-pc company would give out computers with (a now archaic version of) ubuntu and it had open source programs only on it. Had like a 900Mhz processor computer with a 20Gb hard drive. The only game it could play was Weed Wars or some stupid as shit text game. It was slow as fuck when using the internet and took forever to do the simplest shit. I eventually just wiped it and installed Windows XP on it so I could actually get some use out of it and install the Windows applications I actually wanted to use.
not company, I mean organization
w/e. this was like in 2006
Thinkpad t60 with 2 gb ram and 60gb hdd is god awful. I want either upgrade it or sell it and I'm leaning towards the latter
I used a Pentium 100 from 1998 to 2004. To be honest, it was more of a glorified typewriter and DOS gaming machine than anything.
I own a Commodore PET. Paid $20 at a reclamation sale in uni. Easily the slowest general purpose computer I've ever owned. Still works.
One of those old iMacs. It was the family computer from 2000 to 2007.
Muh Kaypro IV I guess. $30
Breddy cool, but I wish it had an in ROM memory monitor like my zeniths do.
probably one of these that I paid $10 for boxed
so simple on the inside and borderline useless with 2K RAM and practically everything handled by the CPU
runner up is a Compaq iBook clone on a pristine OEM image so loaded with bloat it takes 20 minutes to boot and another 10 before it can run applications, that was free
...
Thinkpad R54
Upgraded to 2gb of ram
Was 2004 and got it for free
Lasted til 2012 for shit like SOLIDWORKS and some gaming. Then I got a new laptop with arguably worse specs
