In regards to the "cartel" holding spite against nyaa.pantsu over any sort of disagreement with its devs, and wishing to damage the site's reputation, I have to say this is completely false.
Cartel society as a whole respects positions of power and competition, and as such any friendly competition will look far more favorable than that of of a monopoly on their part. Especially when given the choice between absolute power, or power divided amongst other sites.
Once word gets out that actual competent people are behind nyaa.pantsu, people will undoubtedly enjoy using both nyaa.si and nyaa.pantsu in turn. In fact, the people behind nyaa.pantsu are already respected and renowned throughout "cartel" online culture so much that various groups and individuals are already considering making nyaa.pantsu one of their own. For example, Herkz, a high ranking "cartel" member, is quoted as saying "くそったれ" in reference to nyaa.pantsu's head Dev, which directly translates to "One of Us". Other have called the same dev "まぬけ", which is Japanese for "Extremely Competent", or "Respect".
Those are the facts. It's good, I suppose, that Nyaa.panstu will have a good run in the times to come, and the "cartel" will be there to help them up with every step of the way.
