fuck off with you shitty fucking links holy shit
this isn't the real OP

Actual thread, don't stay in here.

Ryzen notes
>R5 1500X and 1600 (with an aftermarket cooler for OC) are the best value CPUs on the market at the moment, with the possible exception of the Pentium G4560
>Make sure that the RAM you buy is compatible with Ryzen and the mobo. Success reported with the RAM listing in the PCBG pcpartpicker Ryzen builds

Kaby Lake notes
>i5s are defunct with the release of Ryzen
>100 series chipsets (Z170, B150, ect) don't work out of the box with Kaby Lake
>Z series chipsets have an "Enhanced Turbo", which allows all cores to run at the highest single core boost clockspeed (works for Skylake CPUs as well)
>Pentium G4560 is the best price / perf four thread CPU on a modern platform
>All Kaby Lake CPUs work natively with 2400MHz DDR4 memory

General commentary
>Win7 and 8.1 cannot be easily installed on the latest AMD or Intel chipsets
>Do not underestimate the impact of fast (>2400, e.g, 3000MHz) RAM in conjunction with a Z270 or B350/X370 series chipset, which often provides as much of a performance boost as a CPU overclock
>The only worthwhile 1080p gfx cards are the GTX 1050, RX 570, 4GB RX 580, 6GB GTX 1060 (GTX 1070 is acceptable but severe overkill)
>G4560 iGPU is fine for LoL, DOTA2, Rocket League, etc

...

Fuck off, anyone can start the thread. There are no valid criticisms of this OP except retards like you who scream "sh1ll!!!" and "OMG it's different than the old OP111"

This is the real thread. It was posted first

>seagate

absolute trash. how can one company fail so bad

expect it actually provides less information and you keep spreading misinformation like not to mention no one has access to change the builds on the pcpp expect you which is wrong. also they are still fucking shit.

sage it and let it down, and ignore whatever the fuck he says.

>also they are still fucking shit.
You can claim that all you want, but there are no facts to back up your "its shiiiit" comments. Your only complaint is that I list the 1500X instead of the 1600, which I do suggest in the description. Too bad you were born too stupid to click links.

How is that image misinformation?

Bump for the real thread

OP is a stupid nigger
>remember to sage

op proved to be mentally retarded and too stubborn to improve his builds with better choices.
he knows nothing about current hardware and you shouldn't take his advice.

remember to sage and go to the real thread >

So much hate, OP must be the second coming of Jesus

OP trying to force his thread again when it failed a few hours ago
Actual thread:

Why are you so scared?

You're actually the guy trying to force a thread buddy

>using the smiley with a carat nose

Picture still looks like two naked Dalaks having sex. ;)

Nigger, who cares?

When was this test done? I've had 1 seagate 2tb barracuda for 6 months and 2 hitachi 2tb ultrastars over that same time frame and both hitachis failed on me. High disk usage on one, and it would just grind and bump when reading/writing so then I bought another to replace that grinding one, and the replacement was DOA. Where the fuck are these legendary hitachis?

Any small cases out there with swappable HDD where I don't have to open up the computer?

i've never built a pc and im going to do my first build in a month, what should i keep in mind/tips?

Your motherboard manual is the most important tool. Also get a magnetic tip long neck screw driver, and extra sata data cables if you plan to add more hard drives later.

>posting in the wrong /pcbg/
Here. The non-shill one with ACTUAL info.

Sure fucking does, whatever that means. Nice to see you Sup Forumsent

You could probably get a HDD mount for any case with a 5.25" bay. Otherwise, maybe look into small server cases? Sorry don't know much about that query.

Make sure you use mobo standoffs if the case doesn't have them built in. There can be a lot of frustrating details when building for your first time, but just look at it like a puzzle. and enjoy the learning experience.

Just bad luck. Personally I had bad luck with Seagate, which falls in line with the graph. I had the 25% failure rate 1.5TB drives

As all of you can see, this thread is very dead. I's the wrong one and people keep bumping it for some reason.
Here is the right one:

>I's the wrong one and people keep bumping it for some reason.

alri lads ive finished it this is the final build
pcpartpicker.com/list/mRsyr7

Go ask advice here
Instead of staying in this dead & in a poor state thread

Nice. Personally I would have gone with a case without that many 5.25" bays, and of course you could drop to a lower wattage PSU--it's going to be hard for you to even hit 50% usage most of the time.

What monitor do you have?

1440p 60hz

If you're at 60Hz, I'd recommend the R5 1500X or 1600(X) to save some cash, but I'm sure you've already been informed about that if you've posted in these generals before.

Desperate for so much attention. Its almost as if you think we dont know what ctrl+f /pcbg/ is

When can I actually get an RX57/80 at a normal price?

Not a great build. You didn't state purpose, but a 1050Ti is weak and your i7 7700K is unnecessary. Not sure what prices are like kangabux but for a 60Hz 2560x1080 monitor, you should get something like this
pcpartpicker.com/user/pcbg/saved/Fjyf7P

Lol, other thread thinks VRMs aren't important. Next he'll try and claim chipset doesn't matter either

Pretty sure there are plenty of 4GB 570s at about 170USD off newegg

Not sure if it helps but I'd like to run some AAA games plus content creation on shit like Blender and Unity. Is the i7 still overkill if I want to multitask?

Is i5 3570K at 46C idle too high? It's about 26C ambient in my room so higher than usual.

If you're creating content, you definitely want Ryzen. Probably 1600(X) if not 1700. Check benchmarks

Yes

Quality fucking thread here.

Eh, shithead got their panties in a knot as usual. Check OP times

I'm looking for a 1440 p monitor at 120 hz for my pc build. Before anyone says anything, I already swapped out the ram for DDR4 3000 mhz ram. I can't find anything that isn't fucking 600 dollars

mine's 38C at same room temp and stock cooler

Money isn't a huge issue. Although I would like to spend as little as possible if I can while still maintaining a computer that can run games on max for a few years. I'm also trying to keep a white color scheme so any help is appreciated.

sorry forgot to add link

are you me senpai

i got the dell S2417DG comin in the mail on tues

1440p monitors are expensive. You can save yourself some money to put toward the monitor by dropping to the R5 1600 or 1500X and the GTX 1070. You could also wait a few months for Vega, but I doubt you'll save yourself much more than $50 or so.

Grab an SSD (240-256GB is a good size).

Check this build. You can keep the case, PSU, etc that you already picked out. pcpartpicker.com/user/pcbg/saved/Fjyf7P

You could drop the liquid cooler and save a few bucks. You can drop down to the R5 1600 or 1500X without much detriment to framerates. At 1440p, you're mostly going to be GPU limited

au.pcpartpicker.com/list/BqT43F

Rate me budget build. How can it be better for cheaper?

You'll have major problems with that build.. for instance, the 7600K won't work in the H110 unless you have a Skylake CPU to install in the socket and flash the mobo BIOS first. Also unlocked / overclockable "K" CPUs are generally paired with a Z series chipset. H or B chipsets are paired with locked CPUs like the G4560 or i5 7500.

i5s aren't a smart purchase after the release of AMD's R5 series. If you really want the 1050Ti, you can fully utilize it with the cheap (Intel) Pentium G4560. If you want to step up a notch in CPU, the best buy is the R5 1500X, which is still cheaper than the 7600K.

You can exchange the 1050Ti for the gfx cards in any of the first three builds in this list.
pcpartpicker.com/user/pcbg/saved/

Also the monitor is a little small. I'd suggest 23"-25". If you're looking to save a little cash, you can always grab one used. 1080p monitors are all over the used market for cheap

Don't forget the standoffs.

>You can exchange the 1050Ti for the gfx cards in any of the first three builds in this list.
Actually I meant the first four builds.

Hey /pcbg/. I'm building a new rig, and was hoping to sell my old one was a "Full Mid-Range Gaming PC".
I was hoping that I could atleast get around 700 to lower the costs of my new build.

My Motherboard isn't actually that hot, Speccy is being a dick.

Personally, I wouldn't bother selling the rig. Just grab an SSD and an new gfx card and you're set.

Honestly, you could keep your current build for a little longer. Just turn down settings slightly. You won't be able to tell a difference, and you'll get a huge framerate boost.

should rename the thread "e-peen general"

A build for an office 2016 and heavy browsing type of work?

(more than 8 browser tabs)

What did I fuck up? Planning on pirating Windows 7 Ultimate.

pcpartpicker.com/list/PYLrBP

Well, there's no reason to get an older CPU. I guess you want to because of w7 but it's not worth buying a brand new component that's outdated. Just get the 7700k and swallow the MS's cock, also, Noctua heatsinks come with very good paste already.

Disk drives are seriously antiquated technology.

I'd suggest the 7700k and a Z270-A from Asus, but it's your money, user.

>swallow the MS's cock
lolno

Thanks for the thermal paste though

Is 1500x THAT much better than a 1400? Later one is around 35€ cheaper in my country and I'm not sure it's worth that extra. Though I still hope that the 1500x's price will drop sooner or later.

If you're not getting Kaby Lake then just get a z170 board if it saves you money.

Is the Z170-K good?

free markets were a mistake

>Disk drives are seriously antiquated technology.

No, they're not. They're $20 and there is NO valid reason not to have one.

Sup Forums shitposting, somewhat casual gaming (probably some casual 3D modelling as well) with huge storage for archiving lewds.
I'm somewhat a tech illiterate.

That's nothing. G4560 CPU, no gfx card, 240GB SSD. You can build it in a small case easily, like miniITX.

Fine, but you better have a nice monitor.

Yes, because you get a better cooler and a better chip

Casual gaming like League can be done on an iGPU. This isn't r/buildapc, so you have to have some idea of what you want to build.

>Fine, but you better have a nice monitor.
I'm planning on a 144Hz 1440P IPS, any recommendations?

bump

>IPS
Save your money and go with TN, all IPS on the market are shit in terms of manufacturing right now.

Check reviews, but I don't think you're going to get a good one for less that $500

I made a post yesterday about my fans not slowing down after playing something intensive, even when I return to idle temps:

>I made my first build yesterday and I've got almost everything working. The main issue I have right now are my fan/s; when I open a game the fan/s will increase their power, however after closing the game the fan/s will remain on full blast until I turn the PC off. I'm saying "fan/s" because I'm not exactly sure which fans are going on full blast. I have 2 Corsair stock fans that came with my Carbide 400C, with an additional Noctua fan on the roof, my Gigabyte G1 Gaming 1070 card fans and my Noctua NH-U14S CPU cooler. I don't think it's the CPU cooler making all that noise since Noctua fans are supposed to be quiet. It's probably the graphics card fans.
From what I understand I need to create a custom fan curve? What software would you guys recommend?

I tried Afterburner but all it did was actually increase the RPM on the fans on idle. I configured the fans in my BIOS with the optimize feature, however that didn't help either. My fans did change their RPM on idle but they don't slow down after an intensive application. Should I try Speed Fan?

meant to quote:
>From what I understand I need to create a custom fan curve? What software would you guys recommend?
too

Not really looking to play mobas or any real taxing ones but more on grand strategy games with the ocassional VNs and indies since i mostly do my gaming on consoles and handhelds.

But it would mostly be used as a shiposting, illustration, and archive for anime/manga/comics/JAV/whatever stuff like /tg/ shit.

Don't stay in this thread lads, it's not the real OP and as you can see since the start everyone's been telling to not stay in here.
You'll receive minimal advice if you stay here

what uses do these 1500w psus have? is it some server thing because even quad gpus dont use that much

Thoughts about the Corsair RM750X 750W?
I want a quite PSU, will it do me good?
I have a i5 4460 and a R9 290 4GB, draws around 110W idling I think.
Will it stay in the passive mode even when having it on for like 15 hours?

>You'll receive minimal advice if you stay here
Ooohhh, very scary, user. What you meant to say was that you won't have to deal with hivemind retards if you post in here.

Mining operations, dumb buyers. But quad 300W gfx cards can easily hit near the limit.

Unfortunately I can't answer that. I would doubt that 110W draw will stay in passive mode

Open up the case so that you can see whether it's the case fans, CPU fan, or gfx card fans spinning.

Grand strategy can sometimes require more CPU power. You might want a 1500X + 1050Ti depending upon your budget. The extra CPU power will make your illustrating snappier as well

>I would doubt that 110W draw will stay in passive mode
Not at all, or not just for so long? It stands that it should stay on zero RPM in low-medium load. Wouldn't 110W on a 750W PSU be considered low load?

Make a fucking trip so i can block you. You are the most attention seeking summerfag i have ever seen. Man I cant wait for winter so our threads can be at max comfyness again

The MSI B350M BAZOOKA looks quite decent for that price range, and apart from the size there doesn't seem to be any noticeable difference compared to the ordinary ATX AM4 motherboards... Anyone here use it? Where are the gayming LED's located and can their color be changed aswell?

Honestly not too sure. But if it says medium load, then probably passive. You can call their support and they'll be able to tell you for sure

Also does the BIOS have to be updated manually or is it good to use with ryzen right out of the box

>msi
>bazooka
>gaymen led
lel
Bios should always have to be updated

>Win7 cannot be easily installed on the latest AMD or Intel chipsets

Where did you get this bullshit from? The only difficulties i've read about so far are the USB drivers not being recognized during installation itself (but working fine afterwards), which can easily be circumvented via ps2

Yeah it seemed quite fucking memey that's why i was asking if anyone else was using it in their build

And what's so bad about MSI?

Found it, it's supposed to be passive until 40% load, 300W. So it should be okay for me.

>The only difficulties i've read about so far are the USB drivers not being recognized during installation itself (but working fine afterwards)

It's not even that. Those problems have nothing to do with Ryzen - Microsoft stripped all the drivers out of their win7 install images just to fuck with anyone trying to install it instead of win10.

Source? How are they supposed to retroactively strip drivers out of a locally stored image

They're not stripping anything out of local images they stripped them from the images they offer on their download page.

If you install win7 using the images on microsoft's website you won't get your NIC driver, AND they disable the automatic driver updates function so you have to download shit onto a USB from another computer and do it manually.

t. Just had to reinstall win7

Lel i see

Good thing i have my win7 images from years ago burned on a dvd i guess

Also btw you can circumvent the disabled updates (i think they're disabled on default for all ryzen machines, even on the aforementioned "old" images not from the kikerosoft download site) and re-enable them again, there's a script on github for that

You can't really beat a second hand GTX 970 on price/power/performance @ 1080p though. Just picked one up for £97. A GTX960(4GB) is like 30% slower for only 15-20% less cost, 980 is double the price for as little as 10% more. Cards around the 290/290X level at great price/performance but power hungry.

>this thread keeps getting cucked
