Considering no systemd or pulseaudio, how difficult is managing audio and display devices? I have a usb microphone that functions as a sound card so I plug my headphones into the microphone. I also need hdmi audio for television, regular AUX for speakers and guitar as an input.

On Gentoo, alsamixer didn't handle these as well as pulseaudio does.

I have not tried connecting it to a monitor because its a laptop and i have a real computer ill try when i get home but audio controls are fine just use pavucontrol

Thanks. Never heard of it. When I was asking assistance with audio on Gentoo people just told me to config it through alsamixer, which did not work well, thus the switch to Fedora. Monitor switch has never been a problem so I doubt it'll be one on Slackware either.
