who /instagram/ here?

First for a watch

That watch looks too expensive for a Seiko but you have beautiful skin

Should I get a replica watch?

First for Rolex being a massive ponzi scheme

Why the fuck are replicas so expensive anyway?

/wt/ will always say no

i say, if you want to do it

that's how much a real rolex should cost in terms of materials and production

some replicas are just as good as real rolexes

what the hell? dothey not tell time or some shit?

how do theseexist?

But that chart shows that Rolexes barely went up in price since the early 90s.

It's called China

?

Since 1990 a rolex no date submariner has gone from $1500 USD to $8000 USD

Yes, if you don't adjust for inflation. Which would be stupid.

What are you talking about, a subby has gone from four thousand dollars to eight thousand dollars just since 2007

>people pay 200$to be embarrassed when someone asks how they got that Breitling on their wrist
wow

Inflation is the bottom line on the graph, the retarded rise to the stratosphere of Rolex prices is the top part of the graph

they are put together so you can see how much inflation is part of the price, and how much Rolex marketing and pricing is part of the price

see

So much for this thread, see you next time /wt/

The description of both lines is the exact same, except for the addition of "while adjusting for monetary inflation" in the red line.

This should mean the red line shows the increase in the actual price.

You think inflation has caused prices of consumer goods to double since 2007?

more like a 20% rise user

Don't be a fag man, it was a casual conversation.

>This should mean the red line shows the increase in the actual price.

The red line shows how much a submariner would cost today if the only factor in it's price going up were inflation

the other line shows the actual price

Fucking stop that retarded pricing argument idiots, we had enough in the previous thread.

>stop talking about watches and how much they cost we are so mad

/wt/

That's exactly what that chart implies.

>The red line shows how much a submariner would cost today if the only factor in it's price going up were inflation
Then the description of that line is misleading.

The chart shows a 7x increase. From around $180 to around $1200 (inflation adjusted).

It means if rolexes were to be sold in 1960 for the (inflation adjusted) equivalent of the price they sell today, it'd be 7 times as much.

>Then the description of that line is misleading.
No it's not, it's starting with the original historical price of a subby and showing you that price adjusted for inflation over the years

the other line is the real price without taking inflation or anything into account

they are put together to highlight the massive disparity

But we already had this discussion just a moment ago. Why repeat it?

The way the chart is worded, the red line shows the price increase adjusted for inflation.

Meaning the price increase minus inflation.

>No it's not, it's starting with the original historical price of a subby and showing you that price adjusted for inflation over the years

If a chart says "price increase adjusting for inflation", then it's supposed to show the increase in price adjusting for inflation.

In this case however, it shows the price increase as it would be if CAUSED ONLY BY inflation.

i have a rolex submariner i bought for 20 euros about ten years ago and it still looks great. to the average person they would not question that its real. i dont really wear it much tho

Kek, didn't know a penis pocket existed.

no I don't think so because it specifically lists the model changes

...

Really sexy skin

Pic

So Seiko Yes or no

Need pictures

Yes

Sexy casio

What's a good starter luxury watch? Someone told me either a pre-owned Air King, an Oyster Perpetual, or an Explorer I. But I feel that most people consider a lot of Rolex's to be fake.

What model is that user?

It will be embarassing, trust me. Go ahead and buy it, but you will regret it.

Grand classic. I don't know the model number off the top of my head.

Budget?

Thanks

Two tone Datejust, white dial Roman numerals

how is that watch called? please, you sexy man

I'll be buying one within the next 6 months possibly so about $2-4k

...

That is gorgeous. Any model #?

You legit have no taste.

Do you actually like Rolex watches or just the name?

An explorer would be fine

>two-tone
>roman numerals
>good
Sure thing bud

Two tone should be banned and illegal

The design. It doesn't have to be a Rolex but I can't afford some AP or anything super extravagant.

Eh, true. Datejusts look pretty classy though.

I could get diamond markers if I wanted to. Romans are just easier to read.

They actually have a tri-tone that is pretty damn rare.

>I could get diamond markers if I wanted to
Oh, you're joking about the whole thing, my mistake.

I've been looking into getting an Amphibian as a shitter/beach watch, but I've read that Vostok may have changed the dials on the scuba dude to "resist fading" and changed the color significantly.

Anyone bought one recently that can confirm/deny?

>I could get diamond markers if I wanted to. Romans are just easier to read.

Please be trolling

And how would that be joking?
beckertime.com/product/mens-rolex-datejust-ref-16013-5526516bnn/

I could get this no problem in a couple of months.

>thinks that roman numerals don't look good on a watch.

My current watch just has shitty tiny markers that don't even glow. Also a Datejust with diamond markers is about the same $ as one with romans.

bro

I just realized I don't know what clock technology they use on modern mobile phones and computers. Quartz?

Redpill me, /wt/, I get mixed results when searching.

Yes quartz

3 kinds of gold, you peasants

Yes. If youre a watch whore who cant settle for a a grail watch then go for it.
but dont just buy from any replica site or youll get scammed.
go on rwg.bz forum and check their Trusted Dealers section.
Youll get decent rep watches for $250 - $350, though you can get decent one for less sometimes.
Dont just full fag and get rep Hublot and Rolex, rather buy lesser known brands like Tudor, IWC and such.

Enjoy your ban nigga

>lesser known
>posts a Patek

Really, dude?

Wow it looks like shit. What is that huge screw in the middle?

Kek

> I could get this
Please don't.

lol no. that's the only pic from rwg i have on my phone right now as most of them are on my desktop (it's my next cop), The idea is to get a watch most people are not too familiar with so that you dont get busted by some fakewatchbusta wannabe nigga

Here's the link anyway:

lol, back2watchuseek.png

It is a Seiko 5s21-7a10. They were made by Seiko for a few years around 1990. The 5s21 has a 4hz quartz movement with a small vial of liquid in the movement that damps the second hand, resulting in a truly smooth sweep.

...

Look at that pleb, my phone has a mainspring and a balance wheel

I have 7 watches including two manuals. Is it bad if I switch watchesalmost every day? Should I start picking one to stick with for at least a few days or weeks?

Skx

>Wow it looks like shit.
Looks good enough consdering that it;s in the same price range as a DW.

Why would it be bad? I've done that before but now I usually wear one watch a week except the more pricey watches I wear only occasionally.

>back2watchuseek.png
What? The WUS poorfags literally have threads with thousands of replies where they circlejerk and tip fedoras to each others fake Nautilus Pateks (Bagelsport)

Not really sure, Im just paranoid and more than a little OCD/autistic about accidental damage. I've heard it's bad for manual watches to not get used enough, and maybe extra wear on the leather, idk.

Or maybe it damagesmy manual winders to have to resetthe time and date every other day

thanks
it was very familiar but I couldn't come up with a name

...

> I've heard it's bad for manual watches to not get used enough

I be more worried about over winding as that's the only thing that could damage some manuals.

...

fuck thats bad

>That Cyclops
>Crooked bracelet

I would spot that fake at 15 feet

Fair enough.
I am worried about winding my Vostoks though, lasttime I wound itlike 4 times, and I heard a small click, and it began spinning freely, and thought I had broken it. Tried it again a fedw minutes later, and it works perfectly

The zoom window for the date is wayyyyyy too big

>Cyclops with no magnification
>shit af bracelet
What a NASTY, MEAN, VICIOUS, DISGUSTING PHUCKING PHAKE SHITTUURRR shame on you big boi.

damnit i shouldnt have taken a close up with a shitty camera. at a glance it looks pretty good, and it feel heavy. and its mechanical and has the sweeping second hand

Looking for info on this mod. Specifically hand and bezel

even at a distance, without looking at the dial, i see two things that if i saw you irl, i would think, 'lol probably a phake...'

1. the bracelet looks like shit
2. is that a plastic, domed crystal? because if it is, then that was the first thing i noticed (after the obvious cyclops)

>At a glance it looks pretty good

No it doesn't

i have literally got laid because of this watch at nightclubs

Why did this guy get banned

>Implying girls give the faintest shit about watches

I have real 5000 dollar watches

Nobody has ever cared
