>less PCI-E lanes
isn't it the same 44 lanes they've always had?

Those points were compared to Threadripper.

>Not soldered
>CPU for $2000 is not soldered

LITERALLY CAN'T FUCKING MAKE THIS SHIT UP

overclock3d.net/news/cpu_mainboard/intel_s_skylake-x_and_kaby_lake-x_cpus_will_not_be_soldered/1

oh ok makes sense then

Why wouldn't you buy Threadripped instead?

>More PCI-E lanes
>Actually soldered IHS so lower temperatures
>X399 has more and faster I/O so more and faster USB ports, SATA ports etc. compared to X299
>Lower IPC but also much lower price

I would
but my 5960x is still good enough for pretty much everything

I finally understand why so many people want AMD to be doing well. I think they're both shitty companies now, don't get me wrong. Intel are jews and AMD are poo in loos. So you have to choose between satan and the devil. But at least AMD has competitive pricing for 80% of the performance of an Intel CPU.

>buying rypoo
valid.x86.fr/gh9ifj

>running L2N 24/7

>Intel are jews and AMD are poo in loos.
Is that what you believe?

Ok?

Beaten at your own game.

Yes. Intel are jews and AMD are poo in loos. They're both scum of the earth.

Intel blown the fuck out, wow...

So from which white company should i buy my product from?

jesus fuck

This is the only proper reason not to buy Ryzen

>$2099

You guys are fucking retarded. They are a company and in order to run they need to cut costs. This is a relatively expensive product to produce, and switching to TIM easily saves them upwards of 20 bucks per unit. Do you know how much money that is? 100,000 units x $20 = 2 MILLION dollars. That easily covers the salary of 250 workers a year in Asian based factories. They have that right. Consumers like yourself are downright greedy, pitching a fit over 20C and a measly 500 MHz.

Go fuck yourself.

They heat up so much they solder themselves

>the all out enthusiast platform is cutting costs
>you guys are greedy

Man Intel's pay must be good

1) get your own thread
2) Give it back Tyrone

Yeah right, they're just doing it to try and save xeon sales being eaten by them. Clever way to make 2 cpus with identical specs but somehow make one perform better.

...

hhahahahaha wtf Intel is fucked

Funny thing is AMD can easily add another 8 core CCX to make a 24 core consumer processor. This Intel processor is some shitty rebranded server processor with cores welded off cause it failed quality control.

The yield rates on these Intel processors will be absurdly bad, cause they have to get all the cores printed perfect on one die, whereas AMD can just print a bunch of smaller 8 core CCXs and joint them together, so it's infinitely scalable.

I'm afraid this board is cancer itself...

It only scales well up to 32 I think, for now. Later 48+ will be possible.

7820X vs 1800X

>They are a company and in order to run they need to cut costs.

Is that why you can get a Ryzen 1800X that competes with an Intel 6950X for one third of the cost ($500 vs $1500)?

Intel are massive Jews that rip everyone off. AMD has finally bent them over and fucked them in the ass. They won't be recovering for a long time.

BURN IT ALL DOWN

Yes, good goy! Intel is a great and moral company, only thinking of the consumer!

You realize Threadripper is failed Epyc/Naples, right? AMD does the same thing as Intel.

INTEL HOUSE FIRES INCOMING

What were they thinking

Soldered CPUs are botnet.

tfw they took the bait

No they aren't. AMD processors are 8 core CCXs welding together. so the 16 core threadripper is two perfect CCXs welded together.

This makes it much easier to scale up, they can just add another CCX. They don't have to print one giant 16 core processor in one go, like Intel do, so they have much higher yield rates and their processors are much cheaper to produce.

Intel only care about having their equivalent core count processors beat AMDs, even if they're significantly more expensive, just so they can say that their stuff is still the "best", which will attract customers to buy their 18 core monsters

...

EpyC/Naples should be binned better than threadripper.

1800X 4.0ghz 1.408v
1700X 4.0ghz 1.424v
1700 4.0ghz 1.440v

>Intel only care about having their equivalent core count processors beat AMDs

AMD will just come out with a 24 core and it will be more powerful than Intel's, and cheaper. Intel can't scale up though.

Oh and 7960X vs the top shelf Threadripper
It's gonna be a good year for benchmarks

VI Apex is out! Where's the X370 version?

Bitspower actually mentioned a Crosshair Extreme in a post on facebook

amd supporters all up in this thread. fuck off back to /amd/

AHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAA

lol fucking poorfags who can't overclock.

calling it now, it'll cost at least $500 more than the 16 core AMD cpu and will offer a minimal performance lead over it

Here's a video where the guy who holds some of those records delids Skylake-X because no solder

youtube.com/watch?v=cCv7hF7kepU

Sorry

Anandtech suggests an MSRP of $1700 for the 16c/32t 7960X

Only $200 a core

>$1700
If the lower-binned 16c Rippers start at $1K then AMD will basically be disemboweling Intel live on stage tomorrow.

>print
Ryzen is 3d printed wut

Holy shit.

>Delidding a $2000 CPU

What the fuck.

>Everyone's using the Rampage VI Apex and G.Skill Trident Z

Hmm, does this mean that Germany is best at heating up Intel platforms?

Fuck you. I found it in a guy pocket on the street. Now is mine, is the law.

Yup. What a time to be alive

Well Der8auer is sponsored, so I don't think he cares

But the fact that someone prototyped a delidding tool and plan to put it into production speaks volumes

Gonna play devil's advocate here and say that's just the 6 core model that has Jew Jizz Inside(tm). It's possible the "premium" HEDT models are soldered.

I'm still hoping something like that will come up but it just doesn't seem that way

Infinite jew works. It's like getting an Android phone and rooting it - basically a requirement at this point.

$20 is amount of money to spend on better cooler with same noise.

If they wanted to save that much they could take off spreader alltogether.

The moment he brought that torture device looking piece of shit on screen, the only thing I was thinking was "This is it for Intel."

Nice b8 buddy, amd friends are sure retarded as fuck.

> Hmm, does this mean that Germany is best at heating up Intel platforms?

No, Germans are best at heating up the oven.

This the only thing that will matter. If intel fucks up the pricing there and the cpu won't be significantly more powerful, people will simply go for AMD. The consumer marked couldn't give any less shit about more than 8 cores anway.

> Comes out with chips with a bigger die/die as big as already soldered chips

"Soldering is bad! Didn't you know that toothpaste is the ultimate TIM? Stupid goy, please buy these CPUs."

t. Intel

I mean I get that there is jo excuse for not soldering the cpus.

But quit your bait, we know those are not the real costs of cou components.

9n silicon is much more expensive, and takes a while to make

lol this lineup doesn't even compete with ryzen
>8 core part
>$100 more than the top R7 chip
>55W higher TDP
>same base clock
>platform will cost at least 100s more
intel wtf are you doing

>18 core part
> unknown housefire TDP
> $2000

Threadripper and Epyc are made up of 8 core Zeppelin dies put together on an interposer and infinity fabric. They have a 80% yield on fully functional dies.
AMD I think will segment each core count chip into two SKUs. One that has dies that have been binned for maximum power efficiency while the other has dies binned for maximum clocks at reasonable voltages/temps. So something like 16c w/ 3.0ghz base and 3.6ghz boost for super low power around ~130W TDP. Then there could be a 16c w/ 3.6ghz base and 4.0ghz boost @ 180w TDP.

>Then there could be a 16c w/ 3.6ghz base and 4.0ghz boost @ 180w TDP.

Intel literally preparing automated external defibrillator

We already knew their old excuse was bullshit because they'd soldered smaller chips before.

It is a "rejected" server-grade Xeon chip. 18-core is stupid for HEDT market. You go with 16/12 cores at most. 8-10 cores are more ideal because of "Megahurtz" matters more with HEDT workloads when are dealing with 8-10 cores and adding mores yields little returns.

my god am I watching history repeat itself

The "Expensive Edition" is at least 180TDP with watercooling "recommended at a minimum".
