You have 10 seconds to explain why you don't use your monitor horizontally.
You have 10 seconds to explain why you don't use your monitor horizontally
i do use my monitor horizontally
there's two of them stacked vertically
I can't rotate my laptop screen like that.
>let's compare these two spreadsheets
>oh god, why?!?
I meant vertically, but you guys get it.
games and movies
Why are you watching movies in a chair? Get a couch or recliner and a nice TV.
I do, but doing it in a single monitor setup would be fucking stupid.
you have 10 seconds to explain why you still use windows
And why would it be stupid? There is less wasted space for anything that isn't a video game or movie. The thinking man has nothing to lose by going vertical.
The real question is: why should i use?
A lot of content fits a lot more naturally on a portrait monitor. A lot less wasted space on the sides. PDFs, articles, Sup Forums, etc.
>that isn't a video game or movie
Videos are a massive deal-breaker. Dual-monitors lets you have the best of both worlds, though.
>Windows
>Chrome
>MyAnimeList
>Folders in the tab

yup
If I got a tv I have to pay taxes to support tv channels, i'll be dead before I give money to these motherfuckers
i use ultrawide curved monitor horizontally
pepe.jpg
Because TN panels look like ass if you put them on their sides.
>TV
>Taxes
What?
The UK is so fucked up.
I do.
It's France actually
What's the difference?
Mostly since all websites are designed for widescreen monitors. Of course if I found an affordable 1:1 monitor or something, I'd probably get one.
Because I'm not pic related.
I don't know if that's true. Take a look again at some of your favorite websites.
How much horizontal space is either blank or filled with ads / secondary information?
i am not playing dodonpachi
its a real thing on bongisttan
but I do, 4k in portrait, 1440p in landscape
with a tiling window manager it's perfect
god tier for reading muh full quality doujin scans
as much as it bothers me, the web is simply designed for much more vertical screens these days.
one on top of another nigger
The viewing angle on my monitor is horrible and the top half would be very dark.
you'd only think that because you use them that way
you dont use your phone in landscape to browse the web do you?
>why you don't use your monitor horizontally
I live alone in a 60m2 apartment and my computer monitors double as a TV.
You don't want to watch a movie on a horizontal monitor. I guess I could rotate the side monitors, though (I use a 3x27" setup).
I actually DID use my monitor vertically for a short period of time, but it ended up being quite annoying for several sites because it's just barely not wide enough and I'd have to scroll left and right to see some things. If I had a 1440p monitor it probably would have been fine, but a 1080p in vertical orientation isn't enough.
Phones typically automatically access a "mobile" version of the site in question that resizes everything to fit the phone. If you click "desktop" and try to browse it vertically on the phone it usually looks like shit.
>mobile versions of sites
What non responsive website are you unironically using in 2017?
not only there
thats only because your phone is low res
But I do.
50/50 master race.
Certain task I rotate them both vertically, but most of the time it's just one.
>not having a triple monitor setup with a widescreen in landscape centered flanked by portraits
My phone is 1080p just like my desktop.
What's that monitor stand? Looks fucking amazing.
Because that looks fucking retarded and will fall over easier
16:9 vertical is trying too hard
>not having a quad monitor setup by having two monitors and two mirrors in front and behind you with the two screens having a set latency to flash a second image each that only survives long enough for the light to bounce off each mirror into your eye
I have two horizontal monitors, would it make sense to get a third one that can be put in portrait?
...
do you even have a freemoving deskmount? are you that poor?
Oh but I am
lol
because I have 16:9 monitor and it looks stupid in every arrangement but especially horizontally
mobile versions of websites are usually designed for portrait.
I suppose if your eyes were closer to 9:16 than 16:9, then it would make sense to have the monitor in a vertical position.
Pics?
>not square monitor master race
Tell me about that keyboard
But user I do.
I don't want the pixels to fall out
I like it but I do video editing.
IBM RT3200

>rubberdome (but not too mushy)
>usually seen under $60 on US eBay
My sides are literally taking off. Xd
model?
I'm not an autistic faggot
I wanted to but it cant mount vertically.
this. I also need to know
Because is almost a square.
>what is perspective
(You).
...
Not useful for anything beyond busy Sup Forums threads
Vertically mounted monitors are a dumb meme
But I am.
Another portrait monitor on the left would be great for uniformity and counter the neck problems since I would turn my neck in both directions equally
?
I have a laptop
How the fuck am I supposed to use this?
fcking kek. I actually keked to this.+
>gif unrelated
I like how the very center of your screen splits your browsing between Sup Forums shitposting and reddit trash.
...
Its a curved ultrawide
Itd be awful
Because that's not how eyes work.
Only real application I can see is seeing more posts in Sup Forums threads and seeing vertical porn images on more of the screen.
It's to support impartial tv channels that provide news.
The problem I have with it is that they aren't actually impartial and that it's not properly enforced.
Why do you use your monitor vertically but then ask why we don't use ours horizontally? This makes no sense. Do you know what vertical and horizontal mean?
delete this
Took someone long enough
text doesn't render as well with rotated subpixel arrangement. i'd go portrait with a high dpi one
My monitor is square. Who said I am not?
Can confirm this is the correct dual monitor setup
anime
I'm Asian and have 16:9 eyes.

My God... Its beautiful.

Just looks like your average dual arm gas spring mount.
I have one as well.

Oh golly gee
This sure is convenient. I can already feel being more productive.
Thanks Sup Forums
