>1700X is now 349$
>1700 is now 319$

Is this enough for you to upgrade Sup Forums?

no because I have an oc'd i7 4770k that does everything I need and will continue to do so for several years

So when are 3s and 5s coming out? I need a cheap ass stable CPU.

R5s are already out. No word on R3s yet, AFAIK.

3s for H2.

Price doesn't matter, it's just not worth upgrading my current CPU

Waiting for AMD to destroy Intel with Thread ripper and Epyc prices.

What's H2?

Second half of a year, also known as Q2.

>R7 is king i5 is dead and finished!
I've never once had to stop and consider if my $200 cuck CPU can handle a game at 144hz

Nice, looks like the 8 cores just got a bit better in the price/performance category.

Q1 Q2 Q3 Q4 = first second third fourth quarter of a year.

H1 H2 = first second half of a year

Captcha: Toilets CALLE

1/4 is a quarter tho

nope

my i7 3770k at 4.4 Ghz is enough for me

And 2 are a half.

>1700X
>Upgrade

I got an overclocked i7. So no.

Nobody was comparing R7 to i5, it was R5 vs i5 where Intel looked bad. And you're going to be hitting 100% CPU usage far too often to brag about anything .. is it even an unlocked i5? Doesn't sound like it.

shit, not I need to recalculate if it's worth to buy the 1700X (without cooler but with better specs) or the 1700 (with cooler but worse specs) for $20 less.

But two quarters would be the first half of a year

what voltage you're running your 3770k at? 4.3GHz at 1.225V here, but for some reason it jumps up to 1.32V at times, gotta take care of it, also thinking of delidding.

>it doesn't even blink at 144hz gaymen
>"I bet that's not even an unlocked i5!"
Thank you based intel

>also thinking of delidding
The fact you're even saying this tells me you should reconsider your options.

but if it doesn't blink, what do you call all the microstutters?

>is it even an unlocked i5?
>ignoring the price/performance king of the OC'ed 6400

slam it down to 300 and then it will be.

>OCing locked Intel CPU
lel. Don't you need a specific motherboard with specific firmware to even try doing that?

Ivy Bridge gets massive temp drops from delidding

I delidded my 3570k and saw about a 27 degree difference using Arctic MX-4

I'm not sure, it's been 3 years since I did the OC and I don't have access to the PC at the moment.

*17 degree difference

What I meant is that the fact that anyone is even considering delidding means they've strayed too far into "This is retarded" territory. "Delid" shouldn't even be a thing. Buy soldered CPUs. Problem solved.

that would be Q3

At the time, AMD didn't have a decent competitor to the 3770k though. I mean, I guess he could've bought Sandy Bridge instead. I'm pretty sure those are the last ones Intel soldered the IHS to the die

Yeah I'm still on a 2600K and plan on jumping over to AMD next year. No jizz in my CPU, thanks.

im not poor bro my cpus have to cost more than 400$ for me to even consider them

nope my i5 2500k @ 5gHz is enough for all games @4k for the next 4-8 years still

Who cares? I'm buying 8 performance Intel cores in a couple of weeks.

>4K
>60hz gaymen for years amirite

>for the next 4-8 years
hahaha
How about no?

Nah, I think I'll wait for the better performing eight-core Skylake-X

>$1000 for Broadwell-E with jizz TIM under the lid
Enjoy, I guess.

...

nice blog post

Oops, that should be $600, but basically it's already losing to the $480 1800X anyway.

Because they know Intel will fuck them in a month.

Nigga my cpu (5gHz) beat the 1600x if not 1800x on all benchmarks

I haven't seen any real benefit in using soldering vs TIM in regular usage. My 7700K overclocks well and stays cool enough under my NZXT x61. Compared to my 4.2GHz i7-5775C (which is soldered), the 7700K is about the same temperature overclocked to 4.8GHz at 1.375V.
We don't know that yet, and a $400 drop in price should be celebrated by everyone on both sides. Skylake-X will have higher boost frequency than Zen's 4.1-4.2GHz XFR limitation, so it's probably going to beat the 1800X by a few percentage.
But Skylake-X will have more PCIe lanes and two more memory channels than Ryzen 7, so it's worth that much more.

>muh voltage
>muh 3 cents a month savings adds up over time

>Games
If your game is not GPU bound you are doing it wrong.

reminder latest AYYMD offering is beaten by a 6 yo intel cpu with half the cores, 1/4 the threads toplel

>by poorunr
yet another false flag, fake, click bait """"""news"""""" article
jej

enjoy your housefires

It doesn't have any higher single core performance, even at that clockspeed, so no. You aren't beating the 1600X or 1800X.

>Titan X (OC)
>60hz if you're lucky
So this is the power of sandy bridge

I feel like amd just switched places with intel.
AMD tried and flopped when they focused on mobile.
Now Intel is trying and flopping while focusing on mobile.

It was aymmmd housefire memes now intel is power sucking king.

>AMD focused on mobile
When have they ever been relevant in mobile hardware?

Now try minimum FPS charts.
BONUS: minimum FPS while screen recording or streaming.

Intel isn't beating anyone.

yea ik ryzens beat even kaby lakes in mimimums, still it's a 5-6yo cpu, rlly makes u think

>But Skylake-X will have more PCIe lanes and two more memory channels than Ryzen 7, so it's worth that much more.
You're still comparing AMD's non-HEDT platform to Intel's new HEDT platform. If we move over to Threadripper, the base 10 core CPU will very likely win.

techpowerup.com/233945/amd-readies-nine-ryzen-threadripper-models

>The Ryzen Threadripper 1955X ships with 3.60 GHz core and 4.00 GHz boost, and XFR adding further to the boost clock.

Unless you can OC the i7-7820X to 5.2 GHz stable, which seems pretty unlikely, it will lose.

And all Threadripper CPUs have 64 PCIe lanes. Not the gimped 28 PCIe lanes you get out of Intel. Only the $1000 10 core and above get 44 PCIe lanes (which is still less than AMD, lol)

Willing to bet the 10 core Threadripper will start at $600, too.

That's the point, they haven't been, but some say the push for APUs even existing started over a decade ago with AMD's "future is fusion" philosophy. They saw a demand for small, affordable chips that could do it all.

They were sort of right because SoCs exploded in the mobile market but AMD never had an architecture that could compete in that segment.

no
i fell for the vishera meme
wont be going AMD again for at least 2 more generations and only if they can consistently deliver in that period

Zen is not Bulldozer. At all.

Because my 2600k 4.6ghz preforms identical to these new CPUs at 4K.
The 1700x or 7700k isn't an upgrade

If you're a programmer and not using AMD you're a retard.

No, because EU prices on Ryzen just went up. Those listing prices never mattered anyway (here)

The 8 core 1800X already beats the 10 core 6950X in some tasks. The 6900K part two (now with non-soldered heatspreader) doesn't stand much of a chance desu. Even with the massive price drop.

semiaccurate.com/2017/03/02/amds-ryzen-7-1800x-ryzen-review/

Bought a 6700k two years ago
Overclocked to 4.6, runs chilly cool

I'm set for a long time

>minimums
Literally the only thing Ryzen has going for it with gaming so you gotta really run this into the ground

I'll wait for black friday/cyber monday.

>6700k
hey user minimums are the most important thing assuming high fps aren't wildly far off.

What do I need 120fps vs 105fps if i dip down alot?

And the closer u get to 60fps average the worst dips get, i.e. more annoying

>non-soldered heatspreader
Because that somehow stoped all overclocking since ivy bridge right?

No, I need either an APU or a mini ITX motherboard with an iGPU

It is a lot easier to damage Skylake-X when delidding due to all the teeny little chips around the die.

Then don't delid it
We haven't even seen any temperature metrics yet

LMAO, barely faster than a 6950X at 4.5ghz

Actually there are already tools for skylakeX deliding.
It caA be done safely
We should have to do all this to begin with though.

...

Here's your (You) to provide your family food tonight. The desperation is really heartbreaking.

I don't think that leak is real.
Even if they were just a rebrand/refresh, that 4.4ghz clock would put it wayyy above last year's 10 core.

>i7 7900x
>i7
Looks fake

...

No kidding it will win. The 1800x already almost died the 6950X.

tfw i could get a 8 core config for less than 500$

>ryzen 1700
>b350 mobo
>16gb ddr4 gskill 3000mhz

...

You don't need to empty your Ryzen folder, calm down

>minimums dont matter
retard detected

Never even said that newfag

minimums are more important than averages, consistent 60 FPS trumps 200 FPS with massive latency spikes every time

>all 8c/16t
>only 1700 comes with a cooler
>none can overclock for shit

only retard brand loyalists bought the 1800x. the 1700x shouldn't even exist.

It's just that I'm not fond of the temps and every single time when I meddle around Vcore it becomes unstable to the point that prime95 will stop it's workers

Good for you

Contrary to popular belief and gaymer retarded self inflicted knowledge bubbles, the vast majority don't care for overclocking and would gladly pay more for a faster processor, even if it is the same chip.

>none can overclock for shit
It's just as much silicon lottery as anything else with OCing. Sick of this idea that every Intel CPU is a WINNAR out of the box and all of them OC to crazy levels. Didn't we just get over this with the 7700K "Don't overclock" shit?

"good for you" doesnt adequately support your assertion that minimums are "the only thing Ryzen has going for it with gaming so you gotta really run this into the ground", as if minimums were somehow trivial in comparison to averages.

Who cares man
Stop sperging and grow up

no, you little autist, you dont get to throw out retarded claims on the internet and then just go "who cares", and not have people call you a fucking retard for opening your mouth, being shown to be retarded, and then trying to pass it off as nothing.

fuck off back to whichever asinine board you came from, and take your retardation with you.

>being this much of an aspie
Gotta grow up kid

lower llc
not a fanboy but the 1700 will overclock as much on the stock cooler as the 7700k will overclock at all. (7-800MHz)

>shown to be a complete retard by multiple people in the thread
>lol it doesnt matter, ur an aspie

Grow up kid
Stop getting triggered by Colombian thumb wrestling forums
maybe funnyjunk is more your speed

>echsdee, i posted it again
>now people will think im really an oldfeg
