It's flakier than normal bread, you tear it apart and dip it in your curry. There are special ones with fillings like coconut and sultanas and that too
In general, you get a meat and/or vegetables in a sauce, served over rice. There are a massive variety of curries in a whole range of spiciness.
Only gives you the shits if it's too spicy and you're not used to it, or it's poorly made
