Some cheap local keyboard with Gateron Browns.
magicforce or plum has that layout. considering you live in southeast asia prices should be cheaper there. Check.
>if you want soundless blues, just get gateron browns.
Thanks for the tip.
Still my requests stills valid I' don't play video games, just typing and web dev.
Also for less sound get rubber o-rings (the thick ones) to stop the thud of keys bottoming out.
Does that make a blue switches kb usable at night without awaking everyone in the house?
Miami is the most obnoxious keyset.
No, blue switches still have annoying clicky sound.
How long does BestGear take to deliver? are they decent?
Decent buy take awhile to delieve.
So what's the lightest clicky switch I can get? I use Gateron white (35g) but would like clicky switches for a few keys on my next board I build. I see conflicting information about throwing lighter switches into something like a blue (I.e. It losing its click) is blue the lightest I can go, or can I put the spring from a white in and have it still be clicky
Switches have two ways to make sound:]
>smashing into the keyboard when they bottom out
>mechanic sounds in the activation mechanism
Buckling springs, for example, make a loud click when the spring hits the side of the enclosure (and the pad tilts and hits the plate/PCB). Blue switches are made to emulate that, to a certain degree. These are internal mechanism sounds. You can't reduce this sound, at least not without some rather crazy modifications of the switch.
Meanwhile, something like browns or reds only make a sound when they hit the bottom - the mechanism is entirely silent. They are still pretty loud though, provided you bottom out. Adding a rubber ring to dampen the impact makes them much softer. Adding an o-ring to a blue switch will dampen the impact sound, but the mechanism click will still be present - so instead of a "click" and a "thock" happening at nearly the same time for something like a "thick", you'll just get a crisp "click".
Perfectly explained, thanks.
From what I've read blues are better for typing, that's why they were my first choice, but I'm not sure about the noise. I'm at my parent's house and I will use the computer for typing at night on weekends.
I'll take the advice on gateron browns, found this:

James donkey gaterons are on sale
I would get it if it didn't look like that.
Not getting a MK until they can make quiet ones.
2012 called. They want their memes back
Silenced red switches. Add 2mm meme-rings.
Or just get a Model F, they're dead-silent, you could use one during a funeral and no-one would bat an eye
poorfag here has anyone heard of this poojeet keyboard called 'tvs gold'? is it good for its price?
just get a james donkey or motospeed ck, they're like $40.
Poorfag keyboard for those who can't afford to pay $40: You can probably find one for $20 from some chink seller, either on ebay or on one of the chink sites
blacks, browns, reds Lubed up?
Matias qc or matias linear
Hi what is up with these keyboard fonts that make your KB look like toy for kid and why are they so much more expensive?
At first I hated them and praised blank/side print
but the longer I stare at It...It's kinda interesting.
Anyway what are /mkg approved budget keycaps? [world wide shipping included]
Thanks doc
Anything made my gateron or npkc is good if you have a small budget
Browsed through a few keycap sets on memedrop and somehow, when you just browse their respective discussions, they all had either manufacturing or fitting problems, strange haptic or other quality deficits.
Is this a general thing with keycap sets? What to watch out for when I want decent quality and not rape the stems of my switches?
It looks similar to some fonts used on old terminals, I guess that's the reason. Don't like it though.
Avoid anything made by SP. While GMK is overpriced they almost never have any issues

A shit k90
Drevo gramr or Magicforce 82 if you want a white backlight. Noppo choc mini if you want RGB lighting
but these keyboards are using some other switches. tvs gold apparently uses legit cherry blue and costs around $25.
Is anyone ever tried or owned a GH60 from KBDfans? is it worth?

I'd like to avoid gayming brands (Razer, &c.). Prefferably white or cream, but I'll take what I can get.

Is this worth it ? Already have gateron greens so only thing I'll need is the keycaps.
>zftvs.com
Both. TVS Gold actually uses real Cherry MX Blues.
Topre>Matias>MX Silent>Gateron Clear
You have a lot of options, are you just poor or something?
Is this mechanical lads? Friend has one and is willing to give it to me if I pay for shipping.
i have the first version that only has red leds. I guess it's worth it? the trade off to hot swappable switches is that it doesn't feel as rigged/solid. I tried a razor and logitech mech in store and they felt a tad bit more solid. less wiggly. the caps and switches don't fall off or anything. I'm not trying to imply they're loose, just not as firm, side to side.
I like it. if a switch gets noticeable wear, I can rotate it with a less used key. I wish i didn't update the firmware because the windows key is always on now.
Nope. sorry.
It should be, but not in the same way that most in this thread are.
Its really hard to get good ISO keycaps
Thanks user, I'm honestly eyeing for that too. I'm also considering from buying Taobao, any recommendations?
Where do you guys get Topre tenkeyless keyboards? It feels like forever since I´ve been checking elitekeyboards for stock on the white all 55g tenkeyless. Amazon and ebay only have Jp sellers with prices of like $270.
n-th for chink caps with wire stabilizers equals hair loss
Vortex Race 3 worth it fellas?
i know that feel bro. i've managed to cope with the 2u stabs pretty well but the spacebar is a royal pain in the ass
they're on the pricier side but they're high quality and pretty sick looking if you're into this aesthetic

Good keycaps are a huge plus.
Winkeyless
GH60
Do I need diodes, resistors and shit ? It's +40 for those and I don't know what they do.
Don't wanna build it, can't solder for shit and too lazy.
If I'm definitely planning to get a set of nice looking keycaps for any new keyboard I end up purchasing, is there any reason NOT to buy one of the WASD keycap-less boards?
I hear almost nothing about WASD in general, are they so terrible no one even bothers with them, or just unpopular or something?
I think I just heard the sound of panties dropping for a 300 kilometer radius just as I gazed upon this masterpiece.
holy shit
serves me right for expecting anything else
>massdelay
that's what they cost, they are $300-330 here for leopolds
I have been out the MK game for a little over two years now, last colorway I purchased was when I was part of the original Miami Nights group buy.
I am seeing a lot more keyboards with LED lighting built into the case to form an accent around the frame, I remember only a few cases back then did this and they were truly ridiculous in expense and sold out literally immediately.
Are there any keyboards out there now of good quality that do this? Preferably something in Greens, or Purples (I remember hearing those things were the second coming of Christ back when they were still being tested and only a few switches were being given away to hype them up, so it's been awhile.)
MK fission with greens is a readily availble one. The two RK Pro keyboards are also a cheap option if you're on a budget
Thanks for the suggestions but do you know any that are 10 keyless? I prefer those over full-size keyboards by a considerable amount.
Anything from winkeyless, but those are more expensive. The motospeed k87 is another budget option.

plenty of others too
Are there any DIY numpad kits?
Yes. Winkeyless b.pad or a Chinese clone is probably your best bet
So
New Unicomp or used Model M with bolt mod?
Is there any spherical keycaps for the model M? I have a boner for selectric keyboards.
Get a used M and bolt mod it if you can. Spherical caps dont exist yet but someone on deskthority is looking in to it
Thanks.
Are gay men affected by the buckling springs?
If you want something good for $60, there's this:
Late response but I think you can get a drevo gramr with browns or blues if you can find it on Ali at the right price I love mine. I'm not sure how to confirm that are gaterons but they are advertised that way.
they are more often kaillth than not and someone said it does skip letters often.Amazon reviews confirm it.
>I'm not sure how to confirm that are gaterons
You could pull off a keycap and look at the branding on the switch.
From all the time I spent looking at IBM keyboards on CL and ebay, I'm almost certain it's a rubber dome. KB-7953
I had that keyboard. Is a common rubber dome.
Easy to do before you buy it online.
GENIUS
>I love mine
Well do you have one you can check or not?
help a brother out
You can buy motospeed keyboard with every switch in existence including cherry, does not mean they all are cherry.
Guy 1 wants to know what switch is in in keyboard A
Guy 2 has keyboard that looks the same with same name so he claims it can be Gateron because his has Gateron, but because Keyboard A does not specifi switch type,it is gamble as they are made with outemu, kailh, cheery, gaterons, wolfsx and maybe some dick sells it with membrane,
Asking again, what's the lightest clicky switch I can get?
you need tranzistors rezistors katiodes diodes aions molecules chromosomes and all that shit.
Without it,it is house fire.
it would be interesting to know if there is a gateron version of drevo gramr at all because it only seems to come with outemu switches
blue modded with a lighter spring
what's wrong with gay? I am gay.
who said that there's anything wrong with it
So for instance, I use Gateron Clear (35g) for most of my keys, I want clicks on some of my modifiers, will I run into any issues transplanting the clear springs into the blue keys? Will I receive any real degradation of the click by using a lighter spring?
You are wrong with it,I do not walk around shouting I M HETEROSEXUAL in manly voice.
You walk around shouting I M FAGGOT in girly voice tho.
But really there is nothing wrong with that keyboard. We are just jealous of how cute kawaii trap weeb narutophile it is.
I regret ordering the black version because black does not go well with such keycap color.
Nothing, apart from the fact that we damage the moral fabric of society.
*damages*
If only it were programmable and with different key caps.
Just got Leopold FC750R. Why is everyone saying that blacks are heavy?
It's way too light for me. Much lighter than I thought it would be.
Other than that feels very solid.
Would take a bit of time to adjust though.
the nonstandard top row kills it for me
