first for ONEPLUS ONE

remember when there used to be 50 different phone related threads a day? thank God this general exists

I have a Samsung S4 and I have no experience with smartphones. I wanted to root it and eventually learn how to flash (stock) firmware on it in case I fuck something up.
All the guides said to check if the bootloader is unlocked, but none of the guides work (calling the *#*#3515 number). Is it even possible to check it for this phone?
Is there a definitive guide on how to install new ROMS/firmware (I don't know the difference) for this or all phones? Everything I find differs from each other and I'm afraid of ruining the only phone I have. I also tried rooting it with Towelroot (which worked on another phone my sibling has), but it didn't work. Is there a recommended general way to root phones or a specific one you recommend for this model?

Should I bother with a S8 plus?

Does anyone know if only the largest model of the iPhone will have the OLED screen? I've always wanted an OLED iPhone, but I'm not going to get a 5.8" brick.

Best phone under 130$?
Must have at least 1gb ram, 1ghz, 720p screen and I'd like to mod it as well. Should I go with the moto e 3rd gen?

What's the best chink phone for around €100 now?
The only thing I care about is a decent camera, even mediakek would be fine I guess

get 2GB of RAM otherwise you're fucked
Used 2013/2012/2014 flagships might go for that price if you don't mind getting used stuff, will be much better too

>Google Pixel XL 2 to be manufactured by LG

F

This thing has it but doesn't have much mod capabilities.

So the HTC U11 is the best phone on the market right now, right?
Nothing comes close

Is this picture fake? Compliance markings aren't required since iPhone 6

>tfw likely to actually get the iPhone 8

Sorry for blogposting, but is there really any meaningful reason to switch back to Android?
>always root/JB so stock software limitations don't phase me
>switched from M8 to 6S after getting bored with 5+ years of using Android
>have had no issues except the crappy battery
>Xposed is dead unless you run 5.1 or something and that completely kills the ease of customizability
>pretty much guaranteed to have a good camera
>lack of 3.5mm port is pretty damn bad but unfortunately most manufacturers seem to be moving in that direction
>isn't fuckhuge, I need a phone for browsing, texting and listening to music, not watching movies

What's the battery life (SoT) of the regular OnePlus 3? Thinking of getting one. I don't game on phones and barely watch videos. Mainly used for music, Bluetooth, and clover/messaging

Do we know if the op5 had an sd card slot or not?

g-guys

I'm in the good ol U S of A. I'm planning on using Verizon. I'm thinking about buying a Galaxy S7 since I'm not the richest nigga, and I already have a computer so I don't need to go overboard with a S8+. I read that if you get an unlocked phone then you can avoid the bloatware that comes with a carrier-provided phone. I've been looking on Swappa for a S7, but this is where I get lost: Do I search for a Verizon s7, an unlocked s7, or do I go with a Verizon s7 that mentions that it's unlocked in the description? I ask this because there are SM-G930U and SM-G930V S7s. Which do I aim for? Is there a decent alternative around the same price range ($350-$400)?

Whats the best android browser? I'm using firefox now, but it gives me so much trouble, and i get a lot of sites that refuse to load with adaway running. I just want a lean one that uses minimal data(only have 3gb a month) and blocks ads, either through built in extensions or from adaware.

Phone is a Zuk Z2 running AICP nightly, with root.

I don't know if gou guys give advice on smartwatches, but I'm still going to ask

I'm looking for watch that has:
>Hearth rate meter (Must be!!!)
>Ability to open pictures
>Not very expensive (Like 80$max?)

Is this possible?
I will be glad for all advices

Moto 360 sport first gen

Is 3 GB RAM enough?

This sounds astoundingly stupid right now but it's just the cards I have.

I recently just joined the modern era by getting a Moto G5 Plus. I am very happy with it.

I also have had an iPod nano for some time that I enjoyed as well. It's finally shitting the bed. The buttons won't work properly anymore. Are there reliable Android OS apps that will allow me to shift my iTunes shit to my phone so I can retire my now dysfunctional Nano?

No.

Seeing as you didn't state what your usage habits are, I'll assume nothing less than 12GB will be enough.

i was actually looking at 360 1st gen atm and looks pretty good, but it's the basic version (not sport), is it any worse ? because it is cheaper and still has hrm

I watch porn

Do you guys remove the sticker with the serial number off the back of your phones?

Uh you realize I meant RAM on a SMARTPHONE right?

Also
This is not me. I use my phone for maps, IM, web browsing, music streaming.

The only difference is the band style. Sport edition is a rubber band and regular edition is metal. I got my gf the metal one and it's sleek.

If you wanna spend more money, then get the second gen. It smaller

Who /buyingop5/ here?

need a decent but cheap phone for vr porn, any suggestions?

Alright, on my Galaxy S6 Edge, Android Nougat (7.0). I have my phone set to have the colors screensaver or whatever you call it when it's charging.
In my car, I have it mounted to charge and be up front, and because I can't just leave it on Spotify because it'll go dark, I use multi-screen and GPS wherever, that keeps it active.

Since I got force updated to 7.0, I've had a problem with the multi-window browsing, or whatever it's called. Before, I would press the multi-window/open apps/whatever button, press the multi option, and bring them up. If I hit home, they'd both close just fine and all was dandy, just do it again.

Now, it just "minimizes" the one on top. If I hit the home button and then open anything else it just puts it back on top. If I hit close all apps, it stays open, and I have to use the dragdown to close it or bring it back into focus. This is annoying as fuck, it didn't used to do this, and I can't find a damn option to turn it off.

>tl;dr: How do I turn the "Multi-Window Minimization" off on Nougat? Alternatively, how do I just keep Spotify from letting the backlight turn off when charging?

There are a few samshit phones that can't be rooted/bootloader no matter what, for example all the variants of the Galaxy S6 and any samsung phone carrier locked to verizon ie express prime, galaxy whatever verizon etc, if you can't root it with any generic one click root app it might be because you have one of these "cursed" phones.

Sell that shit and get a unlock friendly phone, xiaomi, oneplus, motorola and htc are your best friends.

This can't be fucking real, first they rip-off motorola with the no 3.5mm jack thing, thus making it standard for any phone released after the ip7 to not include it as well, and now they're ripping off the essential phone and its fucking stupid waste-of-screen-and-pixels frontal camera tumor? I cannot fucking wait to see which chink company rips off this fucking disgusting design hellbent on fucking over anyone who buys it, all for the modest sum of one thousand dollars plus tax: huawei or xiaomi.

Please PLEASE someone fucking kill me because i cannot stand this much retardation.

It's not fake. The rest of the world uses the compliance marks.

Yes.

Well the rest of the world should kill themselves

Redmi 4A (95-110 dollars) or Moto G4 Play (90-120 dollars); both come with 720p screens, 2GB RAM, SD slot, Snapdragon 4XX chipsets (4A has a slightly superior one) and are moddable as hell, the only differences between them is that the 4A has a bigger battery but the G4P's is smaller albeit removable.

5-6 hours SoT of heavy use, 3T is a solid 6 to 8 SoT, pretty standard for a flagship phone, 1080p AMOLED was a good choice.

Nope.

Chromium SWE, it's basically chrome with almost zero botnet (in fact you can't even log in with your google account on it because they removed a lot of telemetry stuff) but this particular version is optimized for snapdragon devices, check on fdroid.

I forgot to mention that it has an inbuilt adblocker/https filter as well so you don't need adaway on your phone, although it is recommended.

Mi4c

US, tmo
I just want a small phone with a good DAC. Am I out of luck?

Where I could get an OEM battery for a LG G3?. I don't wanna get rid of the phone because it still works flawlessly.

>flawlessly
>>>/reddit/

Does the Redmi Note 4X Hatsune Miku Green look girly? Was looking at one but I'm beginning to think it's not for males.

No.

honestly, the anker batteries are really good as replacements. you can find them on amazon for cheapish

Too late already assumed.
2gb is enough.

Not that guy but I'm not seeing Chromium SWE in F-Droid.

Other thread is closed I'm reposting.

Could someone help me

I unlocked my huawei p8 PRA-LX1, installed the modified TWRP found on XDA but now i can't flash magisk because from TWRP storage is encrypted... I never encrypted anything in the first place

its acceptable for cute males and traps if you are not one of those i highly dont recommend unless you are fucking faget

following Sup Forums's advice I bought moto G2 a few years ago and now it's time for me to upgrade
I always feel like getting just the newer version of something I've been using
so my question is, is moto G5 plus a decent phone in its price range or would I do myself a disfavor by getting it? are there better options for the same price?

caan anyone help here, I've been posting on forums for about a year and a half and I've gotten nothing useful

t. newfag

My HTC desire 820 has been unlocked, custom recovery flashed but when i attempt to enter recovery through bootloader I get a htc logo, a half second flash of "this phone is not running offical htc software" and sent back to bootloader. Can't factory reset it either.
help appreciated

When looking through Yalp Store, does "Depends on GSF" translate to "Don't bother trying to use this without GSF," or is there a scale to that? Could some apps simply have a single component that needs it, leaving the rest to work fine?

Agreed, those were my two final options, got the Redmi 4A

I will use it in the summer and then update my mother-in-law's (she's got an Samshit with barely any space)

Yes, after a day, and stick it in a card in my drawer
Redmi Note 4 Global, 1080p Screen

It's a solid phone go for it

did i fuck up buying a LeEco Le Max 2, i need a new phone for work and broke my phone i did very small amount of research in terms of specs but have no idea if leEco is reliable, i bought it in a panic spree moment

any euro posters got any good experiences with banggood? worth paying for shipping or is free shipping good enough? how long did you wait? did you get tracking info?

It's not worth for me as miku green its not available for the global version

OH MY GOD
dude you fucked up so bad
that shit explodes in your pocket

they like vibrate when they get too warm and the blast is pretty impressive for such a small thing

Don't pay for DHL as your package will be inspected by customs and you'll have to hassle with all the paperwork and taxes

LeEco Le Max 2 is under $200 and has a 1440p screen and a SD820 SoC

No, it's a good phone, stock ROM is kinda shit do replace it with LineageOS ASAP. You did check it has all the bands for your country?

why don't you go to the phone's xda forum?

right. i live in Finland and if i understood correctly phones pay no import or duties, but I'm not entirely sure. but i was mostly trying to figure out a realistic time frame for something to arrive from HK cause 15 days max seems pretty decent for free delivery. would only get it if i got tracking details though.

posted there twice and pretty much nothing

it's alright making a brand new thread for the same issue but if you don't follow guides on how to jailbreak and install custom ROMs on your phone to the letter then people probably won't answer.

follow guides first, find out where it goes wrong, outline what you did, at what stage it goes wrong, THEN people might be able to help you.

your post gave practically no information. there's a thousand reasons why phones go into bootloops.

No. Zuk Z2 is renowned for good DAC.

This guy's an idiot.

I have a LeEco Le Pro 3. Works pretty well besides the emotion UI. Just make sure it has the right bands for your carrier.

It's on Redmi Note 4X which has bands for all countries except shitty burgers.

yeah it works on my meme carrier, freedompop

>this guy's an idiot
t. retard who doesn't understand concepts like "humour".

>stock ROM is kinda shit
Lol, have fun with your shitty camera.

I just want smol phones with good quality
is there anything better than z5 compact?

hows the battery life im little worried with big screen/resolution, smol battery

You're an idiot because you don't know how to make funny jokes.

IDK about the LeMax 2 but it can't be that bad. You have 1440p with 3000 mAhs. That's decent enough on my similarly specced ZTE axon pro. Although my Pro 3 has 4070 mAh and I can get easily 24-36 hours on single charge

How much did you pay for the max 2?

Nubia Z1 1st mini or Axon 7 mini maybe

you sound autistic.

$192 on ebay

Is it the best camera for the price?

It's more blue than it is green. Still girly.

Good comeback

If you want better battery life the Pro 3 is $230 right now at Best buy, Amazon, b&h etc

Normal benchmark gets 7 hours SoT

Just replaced my Oneplus 3T with an S8 Plus, holy shit it is great

There's no customs fee but you pay 24% VAT on everything over 22€

I'll post in about a month when my K10000 Pro arrives. It had an option for paying $0 for the faster shipping but I was worried about import costs.

I need some help lads my last phone ( Wiko Lenny 2) just went to shit yesterday screen all cracked touch wont respond so I guess it's time for me to upgrade.

Budget 200€ max. I live in Portugal , I don't really use a phone that whole lot but I'd like something that wouldn't have me worry about getting a new phone for a few years or so if that's possible.

Requirements - 5' screen at the very least , somewhat durable battery capacity ( charge it every other day if that's even possible with smartphones anymore )

(((( Probably just going to use it for music / porn if my tablet battery is over but still would like something decent ))))

Thanks for the help in advance.

For 100€? Yes. Here's the cheapest price for the 3/32 version
fastcardtech.com/XIAOMI-Mi4C-32GB.html

Make sure you choose "Original New", "Official Exchange" means it's it's refurbished.

Android has much better battery management on v6/7 so any modern phone will have a better battery life. That said, if you want cheap phones with great battery get a Xiaomi or an Oukitel. They sell phones for 80-800€ so there are a few in your budget. Pick any you like from here
devicespecifications.com/en/brand/1e7667
devicespecifications.com/en/brand/192de4

Redmi Note 4 64GB is available for 200€ exactly on Honorbuy, I believe.

I always look on kimovil to find the best price, never heard of that site, is it reliable?
Also that's really dirt cheap for such a phone, thank you for linking to it

These actually look pretty decent and within a reasonable price. Problem is I'm a very paranoid autist and making online purchases isnt my area could you recommend me some more "normie" style phones. The kind that you can go to a store and buy instead?

But if the price discrepancy is too big ( which probably is ) I guess I'll just say fuck it and get one of these.

Is everyone as hyped about the note 8 as I am? I can't wait to see the specs and reveal.

Get it, its probably one of the best budget smartphones you can get
