I have to return a desktop to Best buy but I "used all of my returns for the year". How do I make them take the return?

I have to return a desktop to Best buy but I "used all of my returns for the year". How do I make them take the return?

Best Buy CS worker here. How the fuck did you manage that?

Buying and returning a few laptops I didn't like. They gave me some number to call and the pajeet said I can't return anything for a year, but I have to return this.

>used all your returns in the year

Jesus

Former GS agent here who helped out a bit for CS.

A few laptops user says....this doesn't just happen with one or two laptops. Did you buy/return everything on the shelves?

I have a Best buy rewards card and was getting 12 months no interest on all of them. It was like 3-4 laptops.

Is this actual unadulterated autism I'm witnessing?

How do you go through three or four laptops before you're satisfied?

Yes
I try it for two weeks and if I don't like it at the end I return and try something else

Why are Americans such wasteful degenerates?

I don't blame him.
Everything Best Buy sells is garbage.

You're exactly the cancer killing return policies. Fuck off.

That's not how that works.

yeah if you're only looking at the sub $600 laptops. Retards like you come in looking for a cheap laptop and expect something good.

I just want to know if there is a way to get something returned no matter what. I don't even want anything from there anymore.

CS specialist here. We recently had to put a 15% restocking fee on cameras, drones, and hover boards because people buy to try them for a weekend or shoot a vacation, and then return them. Now I get yelled at by honest people because assholes abused the return policy.

Not really. You can try throwing a tantrum in the store and they might let you return just to get you to fuck off, but it's unlikely.

Say it's defective, exchange for a new one, sell it on eBay for a slight loss, and pay off your credit card. Only option. Fuck with the drivers or something so that if they try to challenge you, you can show it doesn't work properly.

This. People come in and say "Wow a 200 dollar laptop, what a steal!" and then blame the store when it's a piece of shit.

OP you are absolutely fucking shit.

that just makes us less willing to help you

Not if you start demanding the manager and call corporate to file a complaint.

It actually doesn't start is the problem. When I turn it on, it shows some random boot screen called Intel network boot or something and then it just restarts over and over, sometimes says there is no OS or loads the windows 10 install page and it just restarts immediately. Problem is that I don't want them to fix it or give a new one. I want my money back. It was open box too.

When customers do this, I drag it out as long as I can so my coworkers and I can watch nut cases have breakdowns. Gives us something to laugh about for the next few days.

Your only option is a replacement or for it to be fixed. If it's open box, they can't lose any more money on it than they did when it was originally returned, so they may be willing to deal with you. Depends on management.

You're getting yelled at because an honest company would just eat the loses of a few isolated assholes "renting" stuff and not charge EVERYONE a 15% jew tax for wanting a refund.

I guess i'll just go to a different Best buy and try to get them to take it back. I was considering shorting it and saying it's fucking broken but that's probably bad.

You just keep saying "I don't understand" when they tell you can't return it. it's worked for me.

Best buy Canada here, what do you mean you " used all your returns for the year?"

Best Buy got rid of the restocking fee for a long time, but clearly the few isolated assholes became a few too many.

best buy contracts a company to keep track of a customer's return history and sometimes they will deny returns if the customer has been marked as an abuser of the system or something of the sort

It's also based on a ratio of money spent vs. money returned.

Here is the receipt

You could go with the "No speakee i engrish." Or you could just go full autismo reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeereeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeetard

what the absolute fuck is this picture, no wonder they turned down your retarded ass

stop being a fucking spic, god fucking dammit

Maybe don't be an autist and just pick a fucking laptop.

>grease stain on receipt

What the fuck is wrong with you?

CS in Canada here.

We don't take returns on drones, or camera lenses after they're opened. Drones, because they are so high risk. Lenses, because people were essentially renting them for their vacations like you said.
This is the worst. They're the type of people that don't even listen when you try to explain that a little HP Stream will probably not get them through University or whatever.
>call corporate
Don't do this. Policies are in place and are not unreasonable. Call to complain if you get a shit experience, not because you feel that you are entitled to special treatment.

I'm not trying to start shit, but people that do that really suck.

tfw

Disgusting, I wouldn't take it back because no one can know what kind of unspeakable things you do with their electronics.

That's crazy! I have never heard of that before. We also don't have a restocking fee.

I do understand it though, but our whole thing is "make amazing happen!" And if the person is reasonable, I'll usually do the return even if it is out of policy. If you're a dick though, I'll stonewall and drag it out, even if we end up doing the return.

They look at price, and never focus on what's inside. All they care about is price and storage from my experience. I've seen soccer moms turn away from laptops with 256gb sdds in favor of laptops with 1tb 5400rpm hard drives which they will never use to capacity unless their kids use them for torrenting a lot.

>Lenses, because people were essentially renting them for their vacations

Is this 1993? Who the fuck brings actual cameras with them on vacation? Normies' storage medium is a compressed Facebook photo album anyway so high quality raws don't matter.

I'm surprised you're allowed to turn away returns. I tried to get my GM to let me when the guy told me to my face that he just wanted to use it to shoot a project, but he said we couldn't do anything.

It happens enough that I guess it was worth making it SOP. We have signs and everything saying that once they're opened, they can't be returned.

I've seen customers literally walk to every laptop, play around, and not even fucking look at the spec tags... But they never want help, and they always grab the hot buys.

Fuck you register biscuit, I come in your stores for market research. Your customer service is nonexistent, you have to watch out even with new merchandise because Geek Squad may have opened the computer and "optimized" it, your prices suck and no one who works for your company has ever seen or heard of a planogram. Everything you sell is garbage because your company is garbage.

Most people understand that there is only so much we can do. If they make a big stink about it I just pass the buck.

I'm a CS senior so the shit doesn't really fall on me, I really enjoy testing people though.

Like I said though, how you act towards us goes a long way. Assholes get the run around, nice folks don't.

Geek squad doesn't open new product, you fucking mongoloid. Sounds like you had a self inflicted incident just like OP, and now you're bullshitting about why BB is the devil. I will never understand the "prices suck" argument when Best Buy price matches almost anywhere. Blame the manufacturers for setting such high prices.

It sucks to hear that. My store is pretty good, I always wonder where people go to get such shitty treatment at BB.

Don't go expecting comp sci majors or certified techs. We hire people that care enough about tech to want to sell it.

I download and mod artificial academy 2, and fap to it

I fap to natural blonde hair blue eyes girl threads on /s/

I fap to some stuff on e-hentai gallery

I fap to /r/lactation

I fap to e621 if I'm feeling adventurous

I fap to short stack, John persons the pit edits, breeding, and probably some other threads on /aco/

I fap to girls I'm talking to on Skype

I fap while making threads on /biz/ fantasizing that I'm rich and fuck the girls I'm fapping to on Skype

That's basically what I do when I try these computers.

Some people just buy the most expensive or ~$1000 laptops they can find because they think price=quality/longevity which it sort of does but then again, they don't look at the guts. They may see i5-4200u with 8gb memory and 1tb storage, but they understand it as "I don't know what these numbers mean except the ones behind the $ so I'll take it!"

GS doesn't "optimize" anything that isn't sold. The most we would do is setup a few laptops ahead of a big sale so that people who want to grab and go can take a machine home without having to wait for the setup. If they don't want a setup, they get an FF unit.

I've returned a few things unopened, mostly because they were gifts and I no longer needed them.

Maybe it's my appearance, but they call the manager and then tear the box open in front of me and compare the serial number to the one on the box and they think I'm trying to pull some kind of scam. They could have put it back on the shelf, it was unopened, now they have to write it off as shrinkage.

How often does this actually happen?

>may have opened the computer and "optimized" it,
They don't do that, it's the manufacturers, you dipshit. Also,
>he doesn't do a clean install to remove all the pre-loaded bloatware
You deserve it.

If it's a return without a receipt, the big concern is that the merchandise may be stolen. Never torn open a sealed box though, unless I suspect it's not the factory seal.

>return limits
>restocking fee
Man, am I glad I don't live in a cucked country

We're supposed to check product thoroughly before we return/exchange.

Unless you look like a total skid, we are doing it because we have to. Its not about you, it's about the trash that tries to get away with it.

You must be a nigger. I have this operation going on
and they never gave a shit that I'm returning what was my personal faptop for two weeks straight.

It's the tragedy of the commons. "Oh, if I'm the only one who abuses this policy, it won't really hurt anyone. The company is so big that it can take a small ding like this." Then everyone does it. It's not the country, it's the customers that sometimes force a company to change its policies.

Step 1
Stop buying so much shit from best buy
Step 2
Start researching things before you buy them so you don't need to return so much
Step 3 learn to into online shopping cause Brick and mortar is dying

The company actually CAN take the small ding of people abusing refund policy, but since companies are considered dead in the water if they're not experiencing rapid, unsustainable revenue growth, they pull shit like this to keep shareholders happy.

My lord I have met some idiots on Sup Forums but you really take the cake you are by far the most common consumer person I think I have ran into on Sup Forums let alone Sup Forums I mean really you can't look up specs and them compare prices on the specs you want?

>everyone
Sure. Company can still take it. Or the gov should just not allow it, contrary to american believe majority of people are fucking idiots (especially with that "education" system) and need to be protected

hahaHAHAHAAHAHha this thread just got good OP is fucking people over who buy from Best buy by fapping with all of their laptops and returning them for unsuspecting retards to buy HAHAHAHA FUCK BEST BUY

I got the desktop this time because I needed the extra power for artificial academy 2.

hope you're not buying used thinkpads~

>honest company

Unless Best Buy is literally hiding their return policy, there's no dishonesty here. It isn't the company's problem that people are too stupid to read.

I hate a lot of the practices of for-profit companies, but punishing laziness isn't one of them.

>return policy is printed on the back of the receipt after you already bought thing

wow that's real fucking honest

Where can I get more pics or possibly webms of dirtied thinkpads?

>"w-what do you mean, I had to turn the paper over?"

>excuse me, what's the return policy on this item?
>What if I don't like this product?

Most places have a standard 14 or 30 day return policy, with limitations and exceptions.

Anything out of policy is at the discretion of the store. There is nothing unreasonable about that.

At my store, cashier's and sales staff are trained to explain the return policy, especially if the customer is not buying a GS warranty with their product.

Printed on the front, as well as played around the store, and many associates will let you know about the policy if you are apprehensive about your purchase.

It's all over the store, I'm sure, as well as at the register.

If you were concerned with the return policy I'm sure you could also ask literally any employee there and they'd be more than happy to go over the return policy with you in as much detail as you need, you fucking aspie.

How about stop trying to deflect the blame from OP. He's been trying to use products as a free rental for god knows how long, is the honest company not supposed ot receive compensation for the product they now cannot sell as new? They need to pay their employees, they need to figure out how to sell or return that laptop that ops bodily fluids are now probably all over.

You sound like you have autism, seriously. Too fucking scared to ask what the return policy is? Better call them dishonest!
