There's something about Palestine that grabs you unwittingly. Jordan is boring, god-awful boring, Lebanon is great and all and Egypt varies wherever you roam the Earth. I don't know much about the modern pop scene in the Middle East, I'll admit. I thought it was all just Ruby and Nancy-crazed.
Similar to how trauma gives a man to understanding critical social situations, civil unrest gives to *trying* (desperately) to making sense of the game they're playing - in much of the way a loser rationalizes to himself where he went wrong.
What happens is that we're still in love with Islam, so people who are just getting the skim of understanding politics - pseudo-intellectual commentators: the likes of Faisal Al-Qassim, for example. - these people will willingly knot the truth taut by a bedouin's robe, so there is no escape from tradition - even under the scrutiny of ideologic concern - until a paradigm shift occurs.

The Tobruk government is not part of the GNA.
The Misrata miltias are not part of the GNA.
The Shura councils are indepedent.
There's four indepedent cities run by militias.
And the southern parts are run by the indepedent tribals.
The GNA has almost no real power. It's desperately gambling that fighting ISIS will unify, but it's yet to be seen if it will last.
